Mystic Ruins Hidden Deep in Russian Siberia | New Discovery
#Altai #Mystery
The Gornaya Shoria megaliths, meaning Mount Shoria megaliths, are rock formations forming part of Mount Shoriya (Gornaya Shoria) (Russian: Горная Шория) in southern Siberia, Russia, lying to the east of the Altay Mountains.
Fringe articles have claimed these rock formations are gigantic prehistoric man-made blocks, or megaliths. It is reported that the largest pieces or blocks of stone have estimated weights between three and four thousand tons, which would make them larger than the megaliths at Baalbek, in Lebanon.
Russian popular articles have reported that scientists have proposed the rock formation to be the result of geological processes associated with the intense weathering of the rock composing Mount Shoriya.[Both tectonic forces acting on deeply buried bedroc...

1949 / MTS first in the Pamirs

The Gornaya Shoria megaliths, meaning Mount Shoria megaliths, are rock formations forming part of Mount Shoriya (Gornaya Shoria) (Russian: Горная Шория) in southern Siberia, Russia, lying to the east of the Altay Mountains.
Fringe articles have claimed these rock formations are gigantic prehistoric man-made blocks, or megaliths. It is reported that the largest pieces or blocks of stone have estimated weights between three and four thousand tons, which would make them larger than the megaliths at Baalbek, in Lebanon.
Russian popular articles have reported that scientists have proposed the rock formation to be the result of geological processes associated with the intense weathering of the rock composing Mount Shoriya.[Both tectonic forces acting on deeply buried bedrock and pressure release that occurs within nearsurface bedrock as it is uplifted and eroded commonly form rectangular, block-like, rock formations that consist of jointed rock. Tectonic forces acting on deeply buried massive bedrock, such as granite, and pressure release as this bedrock is uncovered by erosion, can create sets of joints which are known as orthogonal joint sets, that intersect at nearly 90 degrees. Orthogonal joint sets quite often result in the formation of rock formations that are comparable in size and shape to the blocks shown in pictures of the alleged megaliths.
It is quite common for spheroidal weathering, a form of chemical weathering, to occur as groundwater circulates through orthogonal joint sets in the near-surface. This process results in the alteration and disintegration of bedrock adjacent to the joints. The preferential removal of weathered bedrock by erosion creates often creates bedrock blocks, which are called corestones. These bedrock blocks commonly have rounded corners and are separated from each other by cracks of variable size. Such corestones form both hills and mountains composed of exposed and rectangular blocks of jointed bedrock that are comparable to the rock formations found in the Mountain Shoriya. These hills and mountains are known as either tors or koppies.
Caucasoid settlements in the region date back to the Bronze and Iron ages. Around the fifth century BCE, Mongoloids began to appear in the Altai and mixed with the prior populations.
The Xiongnu Empire (209 BC-93 AD) governed the territory of the modern Altai Republic. The area was part of the Turkic Khanate, the Uyghur Empire, and the Yeniseian Kyrgyzs. It was during this time that the local population became fully Turkicized culturally and linguistically.
The southern part of the #Altai Republic came under the Naiman Khanate. The territory of the modern Altai Republic has been ruled by the Mongolic Xianbei state (93–234), Rouran Khaganate (330–555), Mongol Empire (1206–1368), Golden Horde (1240–1502), Zunghar Khanate (1634–1758) and Qing Empire (1757–1864).
The Qing period is a semi-autonomous period with the supervision of two Altan Nuur Uriankhai Governor Banners and part of the seven Altai Uriankhai banners. During the Qing administration, the General of Siberia Fedor Ivanovich Soimonov launched a non-military expedition into the Altan Nuur region in 1760 and began fort building, which was subsequently removed by Heseri Jalafungga of Qing. Since the 1820s, the routine border check was less frequent and the Chuy drainage basin has been occupied by Russians.
The entire Altan Nuur Uriankhai region was annexed into Russia in 1864–1867 by the Treaty of Tarbagatai. During the Russian Civil War, the Confederated Republic of Altai was established in 1917, and declared as the first step to rebuilding Genghis Khan's Mongol Empire. But it never became a competing force in the Russian Civil War, and stayed neutral from 1917 until January 1920, when it was annexed back into Russia. A second Altai Republic was formed in 1921 and lasted until 1922 when they were annexed by the Bolsheviks. On June 1, 1922, the Altaians regained autonomy with the creation of the Oyrot Autonomous Oblast , part of Altai Krai. The original name for this region was Bazla. On January 7, 1948, it was renamed Gorno-Altai Autonomous Oblast. In 1991 it was reorganized into the Gorno-Altai Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR). In 1992 it was renamed as the Altai Republic.

3. Gorno-Altaysk is the capital and the largest town of the Altai Republic. The history of the city dates back to the beginning of the XIX century, then on the place of modern Gorno-Altaisk there was a small Teleut settlement. In 1824, the first Russian settlers moved here from Biysk and founded the village of Ulala. Its further development was closely connected with the work of the Altai spiritual mission. In 1831, the main camp begins work in Ulal, where missionaries and clergymen gather.
4. Altay Region is a mountainous area in central Asia where Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan and China all come together. Situated between the Gobi Desert and the Siberian Plain, it is regarded as the homeland of the of the Mongolians, Turks, Koreans, Hungarians and Parzyrks. Ural-Altaic languages are named after the region. Ancient petroglyphs found in the area are believed to have been made the ancestors of the Altay.
5. The Altai Republic is situated in the Altai Mountains in the very center of Asia at the junction of the Siberian taiga, the steppes of Kazakhstan and the semi-deserts of Mongolia. The Altay region is one of the wildest and most interesting parts of southern Russia. It is a varied region with forest, steppes, wild river, lakes, deserts, snow capped mountain and abundant wildlife.
6. There are some outstanding vistas throughout the Altai region, but one of the best views comes from traversing the Katu-Yaryk pass. At 1,188m above sea level, it is one of the scariest high mountain passes in the world due to its loose gravel terrain, narrow roads and lack of barriers. If you’re brave enough to navigate the side of this cliff, you’ll be welcomed by exquisite views from the Chulyshman valley.
7. The Karakol valley is traditionally though to be a sacred place to the indigenous groups of the area and is the site various ancient burials. These burial sites, as well as the surrounding rock faces are also adorned with petroglyphs, giving the site a spiritual and cultural significance which persists in the mentality of locals today. About 5 thousand Petroglyphs can also be seen on 10km of the bank of the Chuya river, depicting images of people and animals on rock face.

More information about the video content bellow:
1. Altai Krai is in a region Western Siberia. It is located to the north-west of the semi-autonomous Altai Republic. Both regions are named after the stunningly beautiful Altai mountains and are home to the Altai people, an ethnically Turkic group living in the region for over 10,000 years.
2. Russian settlement of the Upper Ob and Altai foothills began in the 2nd half of the 17th century.
3. Barnaul is a city and the administrative center of Altai Krai.
4. The Altai Mountains are on the UNESCO World Heritage list, but tourists are drawn to Altai Krai by its breathtaking beauty, regardless of any lists.
5. The valley of the Chulyshman River is known for its stunning panoramas, which can be seen from Katu-Yaryk pass. The length of the road leading to this pass is only 3.5 km (1.9 mi). Elevation changes are 800 m (2625 ft). In fact, it is the road just for one car. Drivers should be extremely careful. Only an experienced one, driving an all-wheel drive vehicle with speed reduction gear, can pass through this road. However, all dangers are justified by beautiful panoramas.
6. Altai is an extraordinary place, which is almost impossible to pass by while travelling from east to west and vice versa. The Denisova Cave, which is located there, is truly unique. Due to its specific properties, it was fit for living and has been used by different species of humans (Neanderthals and modern humans) for near 300 thousands of years. It is the very place, where a few years ago a new species of human, a Denisovan, was discovered!
7. Siberia is freezing but it’s also super hot. There is nothing new here: Siberia is freaking cold, but it can be super hot too. If you go on a winter adventure you will be exposed to negative temperatures only when you are outside, and you can fight the cold weather with some winter gear.

From Kaliningrad in the west to Chokutska Autonomous Okrug in the far east, Russia is a massive nation that crosses 11 time zones.
In this video we will cover all 85 federal subjects of Russia, every oblast, republic, okrug and federal city, where people are living and what constitutes the Russian economy.
~~
Please note that this video is not covering the ongoing war in Ukraine and the massive sanctions that are put on Russia as of the spring of 2022. Please consider supporting the humanitarian efforts through UNHCR or other organizations. We all stand with the Ukrainian people and pray for the violence to end. 💙💛

1949 / MTS first in the Pamirs

"In the depths of Tajikistan, on the Pamir came from the workshops of the Altai plant new tractors. They make cars and tractors in the first district of Cala Lyabiobskom Garm region machine and tractor stations.
There have been over the river Syrhob not crossed such a cargo - the powerful farm machinery.
At the foot of the ridge of Peter I is located in the most mountainous of the USSR machine and tractor stations. All employees of the new MTS: Russian and Tajik and passionate about the idea to promote the mechanization in the most remote regions of the republic. Supervises station director Fyodor Timifeevich Saikov.
At an altitude of two thousand four hundred meters first plowed field a first-class Soviet tractor. As in all the land of collective farms, tractor pave the Pamirs way to new, had not yet seen here yields. "
Garm region existed in the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic in 1939-1955 years, it was the center of the village of Garm, and since 1949 - Shulmak village, transformed in 1950 in the city of Novabad. Subsequently, the territory of the region was divided between the areas under the central government of the Tajik SSR and the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region.
August 12, 1949 Cala Lyabiobsky Hait and areas were merged into Tojikobod District. In this village of Cala Lyabiob was renamed Tojikobod and Kalai-Lyabiobsky district was merged with the district in Hait new Tojikobod District, ie, this chronicle was lifted before 12 August 1949.
