The moniker never stuck, however, and instead David went on to become known as "Ziggy", a nickname given to him by his father Bob Marley, meaning ‘little spliff’. But Ziggy states the following to Melody Maker Magazine in 1988: "Me name David but me big Bowie Fan. So at the time of the 'Ziggy Stardust' album, me call meself Ziggy and now everyone do."
During the late 70s, Ziggy could also be seen alongside his brother Stephen at some of their father’s larger concerts around Jamaica and abroad. In 1978, the duo appeared on stage at the One Love Peace Concert in Kingston, and the following year at Reggae Sunsplash II in Montego Bay.
Good old days is a cliché in popular culture. It refers to an era considered by the speaker to be better than the current era. It is a form of nostalgic romanticisation.
An early use is by John Henley in The Primitive Liturgy: for the Use of the Oratory, Part 1. Being a form of Morning and Evening Prayer..., 1726
This book is reviewed in The Historical Register, volume 11, 1727
In 1727, Daniel Defoe wrote "In the good old days of Trade, which our Fore-fathers plodded on in ...".
It has been used as Laudator temporis acti (Praiser of past times) in Roman times.
Our Gang (also known as The Little Rascals or Hal Roach's Rascals) is a series of American comedyshort films about a group of poor neighborhood children and their adventures. Created by comedy producer Hal Roach, the series was produced between 1922 and 1944 and is noted for showing children behaving in a relatively natural way, as Roach and original director Robert F. McGowan worked to film the unaffected, raw nuances apparent in regular children rather than have them imitate adult acting styles.
In addition, Our Gang notably put boys, girls, whites and blacks together as equals, something that broke new ground, according to film historian Leonard Maltin. That had never been done before in cinema, but has since been repeated after the success of Our Gang.
The franchise began in 1922 as a series of silent short subjects produced by the Roach studio and released by Pathé Exchange. Roach changed distributors from Pathé to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 1927, and the series entered its most popular period after converting to sound in 1929. Production continued at the Roach studio until 1938, when the series was sold to MGM, which produced the comedies itself until 1944. In total, the Our Gang series includes 220 shorts and one feature film, General Spanky, featuring over 41 child actors. As MGM retained the rights to the Our Gang trademark following their purchase of the production rights, the 80 Roach-produced "talkies" were syndicated for television under the title The Little Rascals beginning in 1955. Both Roach's The Little Rascals package (now owned by CBS Television Distribution) and MGM's Our Gang package (now owned by Turner Entertainment and distributed by Warner Bros. Television) have since remained in syndication. New productions based on the shorts have surfaced periodically over the years, including a 1994 Little Rascals feature film released by Universal Pictures.

GOOD OLD DAYS ~ ZIGGY MARLEY AND THE MELODY MAKERS ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH♥MARIE
This is a birthday tribute to my daughter, Sarah Marie....so many memories here in these changing times. She has been living in Portland, Oregon for nearly a decade and graduated with her degree last year. Portland is home to her in so many ways...the lifestyle, her friends, her life...but, this past few months she has been back in Florida and after visiting her family and getting a job here, she has flown back to Oregon to say some goodbyes and tie up her loose ends...not an easy task to ever say goodbye...and, face a new life and the challenges that come with change. We have spent these past months totally embracing our shoreline....to anticipate the very thought of the Gulf and no telling where else being totally destroyed is almost unbearable...not only is she going through physical...

We have spent these past months totally embracing our shoreline....to anticipate the very thought of the Gulf and no telling where else being totally destroyed is almost unbearable...not only is she going through physical location changes...she carries a heavy load of emotions and heartbreak to imagine the almost inevitable at this point...so for, now, on her birthday we are going to celebrate life....the memories....the simple ordinary miracles that surround us when we choose to see them...and, she does do that...These photos are of her takeoff from New Orleans over the wetlands and onto Oregon...the vegetables she marketed in Oregon and the gorgeous greens of Oregon...there are photos of her grandmothers, aunt, sister, nieces, cousins etc....Right now, she is a steadfast soldier...facing life on life terms...I am very proud to call this beautiful young woman on the inside and out, my daughter. She has truly been an asset and joy to my life since the day she was born. Happy Birthday, Sarah♥Marie.....Loving the tribal beat of Ziggy and his Melody Makers here..for this is a very tribal moment for me..
My sunshiney background is my gift of sunshine to her on her day...I hope the sun really does shine on your day, sweetheart..but, if not, let it shine in your heart..I know you will.
And, please don't kill me for having to use the photo of you with your awesome shells with you spikey salty hairdo..;-D I did this at my own risk..I think you are booTiFuL..

Lyrics:
Irie days come on play
let the angels fly let the devils die
got to do what you can with the time at hand
Ali boom mah yeah Ali boom mah yeah
don't worry your mind its just the test of time
in five years these be the good old days
no one knows what the future holds for everything has a season
its not a time for war its a time for peace
tomorrow knows tomorrow woes
I remember when grandpa use to say grandson these be the good old days
these be the good old days
now comes the moon with its starry lights
and so begins the night life
the tribal dance puts me in a trance
as she pulls me in with her magic swing
I asked of her what do we celebrate
she said to me these be the good old days
these be the good old days
leh leh leh leh leh leh leh leh
there is no future there is only now
let's cherish these moments that we now know
these be the good old days
She has been living in Oregon for the past seven years, and she has decided to come back to Florida for now...this is a difficult decision for her...She just flew back to Oregon to tie up her loose ends. These times they are a changing.
Photos by Sherry and Sarah....both her grandmothers are in this...She has decided it is time gather round and embrace these very fragile times together...and, that can be a little difficult when you got gypsy in your soul...I know.

In the earliest known record of his musical career, David Marley performed as part of a singing group called The Seven Do Bees, made up of him and his classmates, and wherein he was given the stage name "Freddie Dic".

With the world so loud, who's gonna hear, when I cry in this fog of war for black gold, one diamond sold, one life got stole society built on slavery, for me it was not so long ago you may forget, but I still know Still the storms come, from the coast of West Africa ( repeat ) anger and rage, thunder and lightning, spirits unrest hey they looking for justice still the storms come, from the coast of West Africa ( repeat ) flood of tears rise, for stories untold, a debt to be paid, hey don't you know There heroes, are my enemies for one man's profit is another man's loss and I see their faces in stone and steel with eyes so proud, oh I wish they could feel for I am come, with the chain and ball to shatter your images, and break down these walls so this day may be bright free from the shadows of giants in the light I'm out of my mind ( Chorus ) Eternity is not enough for me to forget, and my children's children, you will regret for I warn you of a time when empires fall, and the lowly will be lifted hey rule them all but vengeance is no glory, hate is no pay, truth is my call and peace is my way so I will endure, through these hard times, while I am neglected and paid no mind ( Chorus )
