George was born sometime after 1358 into the family of Bagrat I, then duke (and ex-king) of Imereti, and his wife, a Jaqeliatabeg of Samtskhe. He succeeded as king of Imereti on the death of his elder brother, Alexander I, who had proclaimed himself king in opposition to King Bagrat V of Georgia during Timur's invasion of the country. Unlike his predecessor, George initially enjoyed more success in consolidating his power over Imereti; more fortresses were seized from Bagrat's loyalists and his protégé, Arsen, was installed as catholicos of the church in 1390. In 1392, he led his army to subdue Vameq I Dadiani, Duke of Mingrelia, but he suffered a crushing defeat and was killed on the battlefield. At Vameq's invitation, Bagrat V's son, George VII, occupied Imereti, reuniting it with the Kingdom of Georgia. George's brother, Constantine, and nephew, Demetrius, son of Alexander, fled to the North Caucasus, in the Balkar lands (Basiani of the Georgian sources).
George I was king of the Miskito, 1755–1776. He was brother of King Edward and son of Jeremy II and was chosen king because Jeremy II's eldest son was still too young to rule.
Divisions
According to a report on the country written in 1773 by Brian Edwards, his lands were divided into two population groups, the "Samboes" (Miskito Sambu) who were mixed indigenous and African, and "pure Indians" (Miskito Tawira); and was further divided into four domains: the domains of the king and the general in the north and west, inhabited by "Samboes" and the domains of the governor and admiral inhabited by "pure Indians." British settlers first reported this fourfold division in 1766 and it is possible that George created or consolidated it.
Population
Edwards also observed that in 1770, George's kingdom had a population that he estimated numbered between 7,000 and 10,000 fighting men, which at a ratio of four civilians to one fighter would make 28,000 and 40,000 people. In addition to Miskitos, the population included 1,400 British inhabitants, of which 136 where white, 112 of mixed race and about 600 slaves, mostly concentrated around the British settlement of Black River, but other concentrations were at Cabo Gracias a Dios and at Bluefields.
The 800,000 Imeretians speak a Georgiandialect; they are one of the local culture-groups of the ethnically subdivided Georgian people.
In late antiquity and early Middle Ages the ancient western Georgian kingdom of Egrisi existed on the territory of Imereti. Its king declared Christianity as an official religion of Egrisi in 523 AD. In 975-1466 Imereti was part of the united Georgian Kingdom. Since its disintegration in the 15th century, Imereti was an independent kingdom.

Sophia died in spring 1714, putting George second in line to the English throne. Queen Anne died just a few months later on 1 August and the Whig politicians in Westminster, fearful that the Tories still held broad support for James, moved quickly to proclaim George king.
The new monarch arrived in England on 18 September, accompanied by two mistresses and a reported eighteen cooks. His coronation was held at Westminster Abbey on 20 October 1714 but, the following year, his position was threatened by a Jacobite rebellion that sought to replace him with the Catholic James Edward Stuart. Despite securing the support of a few Tories in Westminster, the uprising was suppressed by the end of the year. In response George turned to the Whigs, who went on to dominate British politics for the next few decades. Under the leadership of Robert Walpole, widely recognised as the first de facto Prime Minister, they began the shift towards the modern system of cabinet government.

Lyrics
Turn Down The Light
Turn down the bed
Turn down these voices inside my head
Lay down with me
Tell me no lies
Just hold me close
Don't patronise
Don't patronise
'Cause i can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something that it won't
Here in the dark in these final hours
I will lay down my heart
And i feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
'Cause i can't make you love me if you don't
I'll close my eyes, then i won't see
The love you don't feel when you're holding me
Mornin' will come and i'll do what's right
Just give me till then to give up this fight
And i will give up this fight
'Cause i can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something that it won't
Here in the dark in these final hours
I will lay down my heart
And i feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
