George Ingle Finch, FRS (4 August 1888– 22 November 1970) was an Australian chemist and mountaineer.
Education
He was born in Australia but educated in German-speaking Switzerland and studied physical sciences at University of Zurich.
Career
A member of the second British expedition under General Charles Granville Bruce to Mount Everest, on 23 May 1922 Finch and Captain Geoffrey Bruce reached an altitude of 27,300 feet (8,321 m) on the north ridge before retreating. Finch fell out with the Everest Committee after 1922, but his pioneering work on oxygen, which he pursued with messianic zeal, remained crucial to future expeditions. In the Alps, Finch was on the first ascent of the North Face Diagonal or 'Finch Route' on the Dent d'Hérens, which he climbed with T. G. B. Forster and R. Peto on 2 August 1923. Finch was also a keen skier and was a founding members of the Alpine Ski Club in 1908. He was a lifelong advocate and supporter of the Alpine Club and would later become its president.
George Finch (1794 – 29 June 1870), of Burley-on-the-Hill, Rutland, was a British landowner and politician.
Background
Finch was the illegitimate son of George Finch, 9th Earl of Winchilsea. In 1808 he was granted a license to use the Finch arms. On his father's death in 1826 he inherited substantial estates.
Finch was twice married. He married firstly, Jane, daughter of Vice-Admiral John Richard Delap, in 1819. After her early death in 1821 he married secondly Lady Louisa, daughter of Henry Somerset, 6th Duke of Beaufort, in 1832. His son by his second wife, George was also a politician. Finch died in June 1870. Lady Louisa survived him by over twenty years and died in August 1892.
Earl of Winchilsea and Earl of Nottingham are two titles in the Peerage of England held by the Finch-Hatton family that have been united under a single holder since 1729. The Finch family is believed to be descended from Henry FitzHerbert, Lord Chamberlain to Henry I (r. 1100–1135). The name change came in the 1350s after marriage to an heiress member of the Finch family. A later member of the family, Sir William Finch, was knighted in 1513. His son Sir Thomas Finch (died 1563), was also knighted for his share in suppressing Sir Thomas Wyatt's insurrection against Queen Mary I, and was the son-in-law of Sir Thomas Moyle, some of whose lands Finch's wife inherited. Thomas's eldest son Moyle Finch represented Weymouth, Kent and Winchilsea in the House of Commons. In 1611 he was created a baronet, of Eastwell in the County of Kent.
History
Finch married Elizabeth Heneage, only daughter of Sir Thomas Heneage (1533–1595), Vice-Chamberlain of the Household to Queen Elizabeth I. After Sir Moyle's death in 1614 Elizabeth and her sons made considerable efforts to have the family's status elevated. On 8 July 1623 Elizabeth was raised to the Peerage of England as Viscountess Maidstone, and on 12 July 1628 she was further honoured when she was made Countess of Winchilsea. Lady Winchilsea and Sir Moyle Finch's youngest son the Hon. Sir Heneage Finch served as Speaker of the House of Commons and was the father of Heneage Finch, who was created Earl of Nottingham in 1681.
George Finch, 9th Earl of WinchilseaKGPCFRS (4 November 1752 – 2 August 1826) was an important figure in the history of cricket. His main contributions to the game were patronage and organisation but Winchilsea, an amateur, was also a very keen player. George Finch served with the 87th Foot at the time of the American Revolutionary War from its formation in 1779 to its disbanding in 1783, with the temporary rank of major and lieutenant-colonel.
Early life
Finch was the son of William Finch, who was in turn the second son, by his second marriage, of Daniel Finch, 2nd Earl of Nottingham (1647–1730), and Charlotte Fermor, daughter of Thomas Fermor, 1st Earl of Pomfret. His sister was Sophia Finch. His father died in 1766 and he inherited the Winchilsea title in 1769, from his childless Uncle, Daniel Finch, 8th Earl of Winchilsea and 3rd Earl of Nottingham. In the 1770s Finch was in Florence as appears as one the recognisable people on the right hand side of Johann Zoffany's painting the Tribuna of the Uffizi.
The Royal Institution of Great Britain is an organisation for scientific education and research, based in the City of Westminster. It was founded in 1799 by the leading British scientists of the age, including Henry Cavendish and its first president, George Finch, the 9th Earl of Winchilsea. Its foundational principles were diffusing the knowledge of, and facilitating the general introduction of, useful mechanical inventions and improvements, as well as enhancing the application of science to the common purposes of life.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The Royal Institution of Great Britain (often abbreviated as the Royal Institution or Ri) is an organisation devoted to scientific education and research, based in London.
It was founded in 1799 by the leading British scientists of the age, including Henry Cavendish and its first president, George Finch, the 9th Earl of Winchilsea. Its foundational principles were diffusing the knowledge of, and facilitating the general introduction of, useful mechanical inventions and improvements, as well as enhancing the application of science to the common purposes of life (including through teaching, courses of philosophical lectures, and experiments).
Much of the Institution's initial funding and the initial proposal for its founding were given by the Society for Bettering the Conditions and Improving the Comforts of the Poor, under the guidance of philanthropist Sir Thomas Bernard and American-born British scientist Sir Benjamin Thompson, Count Rumford. Since its founding it has been based at 21 Albemarle Street in Mayfair. Its Royal Charter was granted in 1800.

There are many individuals that have a hard time processing information when it's something that have not heard before or contradicts their fragile sense of who they are in this world. What most of us were taught from kindergarten to college is rewritten history. These videos are being created to undo some of the misinformation that remains in our modern academic curriculums. Please understand that I purposely do not respond to many of the trolls that comment on my videos. Their misguided missions are to carry on the lies that were told to them, regardless of the facts, so the status quo can remain intact.
My videos build on each other, so watching them in order
makes the most sense.

Day 9 the last day of the Pilgrims Way, England's Oldest Pilgrimage from Winchester to Canterbury following the ancient tracks of the pilgrims way. The first part of the trail follows St Swithun's Way a 34 mile route from Winchester to Farnham, then onwards walking along side the North Downs Way to Canterbury and eventually to Dover the full route crosses 3 counties and stretches 187 miles.
As we continue to keep to the Pilgrims Trail, today we start at Dunn street campsite as we walk the last 14 miles to Canterbury and to the Shrine of Thomas Becket where I have a Blessing booked, but first we need to reach Canterbury as we shall do by passing Eastwell Estate and Manor, Godmersham both places Jane Austen the author visited then onto Chilham passing Chilham castle and next we head for Chartham Hatch passing reindeers we head down to Canterbury and seeking our first glimpse of the Cathedral. Passing the city gates we make a slight alteration to our attire and head for the Cathedral to receive the blessing as we reach the end of the trail from Winchester to Canterbury.
