The Peak Tramway (Chinese:山頂纜車) is a funicular railway in Hong Kong, which carries both tourists and residents to the upper levels of Hong Kong Island. Running from Garden Road Admiralty to Victoria Peak via the Mid-Levels, it provides the most direct route and offers good views over the harbour and skyscrapers of Hong Kong.
The Peak Tram is owned and operated by Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (HSH), the owner of Hong Kong's famous Peninsula Hotel along with many other properties. The line, along with HSH's Peak Tower leisure complex at the line's summit, is promoted using the brand The Peak.
Route
The Peak Tram's route from Central district to Victoria Peak covers a distance of about 1.4 kilometres (0.87mi) and an elevation of just under 400 metres (1,312ft). The line has two pronounced curves, one to the left immediately after leaving the lower terminus, and the other to the right in the upper half of the ascent. The gradient also varies considerably throughout the ascent. It is a single track route and a passing loop, with two trams.
The current station comprises a single track, with platforms on both sides. One platform is used for boarding, the other for exiting the tram. As the Peak Tram is a major Hong Kong tourist attraction, long queues are common in front of the turnstiles at Garden Road Terminus.
History
In 1889 the Garden Road Station for the Peak Tram opened. In 1935 a new terminus was built along with the St John's Apartments: a reinforced concrete building, with eight studio flats and a two-bedroom penthouse. In 1964 the apartments were demolished and a modern 14-storey commercial and residential building erected on the site. This building was in turn replaced by the current 22-storey building.
Karachi (Urdu:کراچی / ALA-LC: Karācī IPA:[kəˈrɑːˌtʃi]) is the largest city of Pakistan and the capital of the province of Sindh as well as one of the largest and most populous metropolitan cities in the world. It is also the main seaport and financial center of the country. Karachi metro has an estimated population of over 23.5million people as of 2013, and area of approximately 3,527km2 (1,362sqmi), resulting in a density of more than 6,000 people per square kilometre (15,500 per square mile).
Karachi is the 7th largest urban agglomeration in the world, and the second largest in the Muslim world. It is Pakistan's centre of banking, industry, economic activity and trade and is home to Pakistan's largest corporations, including those involved in textiles, shipping, automotive industry, entertainment, the arts, fashion, advertising, publishing, software development and medical research. The city is a hub of higher education in South Asia and the Muslim world.
Karachi is also ranked as a beta world city. It was the capital of Pakistan until Islamabad was constructed as a capital to spread development evenly across the country and to prevent it from being concentrated in Karachi. Karachi is the location of the Port of Karachi and Port Bin Qasim, two of the region's largest and busiest ports. After the independence of Pakistan, the city population increased dramatically when hundreds of thousands of MuslimMuhajirs from India and from other parts of South Asia came to settle in Karachi.
Rush is the eponymous debut studio album by Canadianrock band Rush, released on March 1, 1974 and later remastered in 1997. Their first release shows much of the hard rock sound typical of many of the popular rock bands emerging earlier in the decade, and it is the only album to not have Neil Peart as drummer. Rush were fans of such bands as Led Zeppelin and Cream, and these influences can be heard in most of the songs on this album. Original drummer John Rutsey performed all drum parts on the album, but was unable to go on extended tours because of complications with his diabetes and was respectfully let go by the band after the album was released. Rutsey contributed to the album's lyrics, but never submitted the work to the other members of the band. The lyrics were instead entirely composed by Lee and Lifeson. Rutsey was soon replaced by Peart, who has remained the band's drummer ever since.
Recording and production
Originally the recording sessions were produced by Dave Stock at Eastern Sound in Toronto. They were scheduled late at night during the 'dead' time in studios because of the band's low budget and the rates during this period were the cheapest. Stock had also worked on the band's debut single (a cover of Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away", with an original composition, "You Can't Fight It", on the B-side). "You Can't Fight It" was to be included on the album but was scrapped. Two of the Eastern Sound recordings, "In the Mood" and "Take a Friend" were included on the final album.

RUSH Garden Road {Enhanced Audio}
Passin’ down this garden road
I’ve passed it many times
Beauty flashing in the air
Garden’s many vines
Today I see the answer that I was wrong
Oh man, my questions on this garden road
One day this path will be free
And this garden road is for you and me
Nothing seems to pass my grip
And my every thought
Judging by my memory
Has me by some hold
Answers to the questions I must know

Garden Route Road Trip through South Africa
We flew to Cape Town chasing summer.
I had no plans, but to enjoy this beautiful city where the mountains meet the ocean.
Soon enough we met some people who were driving along the Garden Route, South Africas must do road trip.
We jumped in their car and embarked on a week long road trip with strangers who quickly became friends.
I was stunned at the beauty of South Africa's countryside.
We drove through quaint towns, lush jungles, and along rugged coastlines.
We saw ostriches, sharks, and chameleons.
We took it one day at a time allowing spontaneity to drive the car.
It was the perfect South African Summer road trip, and here’s how it went.

Passin’ down this garden road
I’ve passed it many times
Beauty flashing in the air
Garden’s many vines
Today I see the answer that I was wrong
Oh man, my questions on this garden road
One day this path will be free
And this garden road is for you and me
Nothing seems to pass my grip
And my every thought
Judging by my memory
Has me by some hold
Answers to the questions I must know
Most of them are questions of this garden road
One day this spell will be free
And this garden road is for you and me
Passin’ down this garden road
I’ve passed it many times
Beauty flashing in the air
But I’m really fine
You see, I see the answer, I must know
Oh man, my questions of this garden road
One day this path will be free
And this garden road is for you and me

It is a single track route and a passing loop, with two trams.
... which, since its launch in April last year, has assisted over 60,000 citizens and tourists in hailing taxis at key locations such as Lan Kwai Fong, The Peak, and the GardenRoadTramStop.
