Gnome packs a bigger punch than their name suggests: combining irresistible hooks and thundering guitars, drums and bass with adventurous twists, they brew their unique and ultimately satisfying potion of stoner, prog and hardrock.
After the success of 2018 debut ‘Father of Time’, which demonstrates their knack for stacking riffs like lego bricks, and having conquered stages across Europe with their shin-kicking live sets, the power trio from Antwerp raise the bar with their majestic second outing ‘King’.
They sound bigger and heavier with more vocals (including special guest Oskar Logi from The Vintage Caravan) but never losing sight of the quest for the golden riff.
‘King’ was recorded with Frank Rotthier at Rockstar Recordings in between lockdowns in the fall of 2020 and will be released by POLDERRECORDS digital, on cd and on vinyl May 6th, 2022.

FLy Pie is a circular menu you invoke with the mouse. And as you get familiar with it, you end up memorizing these gestures: you move your mouse in specific patterns to launch specific things.
By default, you can press control + space to open that, but you can change that shortcut. It also works on Wayland, you just need to create a custom keyboard shortcut that launches the command:
gdbus call --session --dest org.gnome.Shell --object-path /org/gnome/shell/extensions/flypie --method org.gnome.Shell.Extensions.flypie.ShowMenu 'YOURMENU'
If you like tiling your windows, but GNOME's options are too limited, there Forge. Each new window opens in a new tile, and you can either drag and drop them using the mouse to reposition them and create your layout, or use a long list of keyboard shortcuts to do the same thing.
Gradience lets you apply color palettes to the default Adwaita theme of GNOME: it won't change the shape of buttons and controls, but it will tint everything with colors of your choosing. It lets you either pick each color yourself, or you can let it create a color palette from an image. It will apply all these changes to all your GTK4, and GTK3 apps, provided you have the adw-gtk3 theme installed.
Just Perfection comes with a few profiles to reduce the size of the top bar, or get rid of it entirely, but you can also have complete control over everything. It lets you change a lot of various variables, like the panel size, the panel icon size, the padding between indicators, the position of the clock menu, the sped of animations, the size of dash icons, the position of notification banners, the on screen display elements position, and more.
If the default Alt tab window switcher doesn't work for you, then there's AATWS, for Advanced Alt Tab Window switcher.
This thing is the just perfection of ALt tab. It changes how the window switcher AND the app switcher works. You can choose the position of each, at the center, bottom, or top of the screen, choose on which monitor this switcher appears, and how everything looks.
But if you prefer using your mouse to do stuff, then maybe you're lamenting the lack of hot corner functionality in GNOME. Thankfully you have CHC E, for Custom Hot Corners Extended. It lets you define actions for pushing your mouse in any corner of the screen, including with modifiers: you can define an action for when you just place your mouse in the top right corner, of when you do that while holding COntrol, or while clicking any of the buttons, or while scrolling the mouse wheel.
Another app, not an extension, is Login Manager settings. This one lets you tweak, as its name implies, the login screen of GNOME.
If you need a clipboard manager, to keep track of everything you copy, Pano is probably the best looking one. it's an extension that lets you display all the elements you copied in a visual manner, as a strip at the bottom of your screen.
Search light gives you a launcher / spotlight equivalent.
Then you have Rounded window corners, which will round every corner of every window, even for apps that aren't GTK4 and aren't natively round.
If you're missing these awful desktop icons, you can also add them back, with Desktop Icons NG. it's super customizable, and it restores that functionality if that's something you enjoy.

The first big addition is support for background applications. What you'll get now is a section in the quick settings menu, called "background apps". It lets you close these applications, and that's it.
Another change in the GNOME shell is the quick settings. First, the bluetooth setting is now fully functional, letting you see all the devices you previously paired with, and letting you connect to them in one click.
All quick settings toggles are split with 2 lines of text: the first one is the name of the feature, and the second one is the setting or the thing you're connected to.
You can also click on the speaker icon in the settings to mute or unmute your computer, and they replaced the icon for screenshots.
Now, let's talk applications. First is the file manager, Nautilus. It gained back the ability to expand folders in list view. You also now can right click on a tab and get new actions, like closing all the currently open tabs, reopening a closed one, and moving a tab to a new window.
Nautilus will also let you directly paste an image onto a directory when you've copied one from another app or when you've just taken a screenshot.
Another big change in file management is the image preview in the file picker, you finally can have a grid of icons in the picker.
GNOME Web is also getting better with GNOME 44, as it's been ported to GTK4. It now uses a newer version of Webkit's GTK implementation, with a new webGL implementation and webGL2 support.
In the interface side of things, Epiphany now moved to the libadwaita about window, it lets you open these preferences by pressing control + comma, you can duplicate a tab by middle clicking on the refresh button, and it now has access to the brand new tab grid that lets you see thumbnails for all your open tabs.
GNOME Software got a new toggle to only display free and open source software. GNOME Console got access to the visual tab grid to switch between tabs.
GNOME Weather gained a new smooth temperature curve, and a flatter toolbar that merges with the window's content, and GNOME contacts now lets you share a contact by generating a QR code.
GNOME Maps gained back keyboard navigation in the search results.
Finally, GNOME boxes got a redesigned VM creation window that should be faster to use and easier to understand.
And of course, the settings got a bunch of changes as well. First, the lockscreen got a redesign. Gone is the dark gray, drab background of the user list, now you get a nice blurred wallpaper in the background that reflects the wallpaper of the selected user. User icons are now much bigger to be more visible, and the font size of the click is also bigger.
The network panel in the settings got support for Wireguard VPNs, the wifi panel now lets you share wifi network passwords in the form of a QR code as well.
The accessibility panel was also reorganized and split into multiple pages instead of having one long page of settings split into categories, and they gained a new option to disable the overlay scrollbars.
The mouse and the touchpad settings were redesigned, with nice animations to explain the difference between natural scrolling and traditional scrolling. You also finally get the option to disable mouse pointer acceleration.
The About panel now shows the kernel version, the sound panel has a new volume level window, the alert chooser has been redesigned, and the sound test window has been improved as well.
