Vintage lacrosse posters, 2 old wooden sticks, one with a odd scoop and one with a cricket link
It’s always nice to receive vintage lacrosse memorabilia for my collection. Huge thanks to our friend Trevor for these old lacrosse posters.
The 2 wooden sticks were bought here in the UK and are both very unusual. One has a really unique scoop, not sure it’s a design that would have been popular as it seems it may have actually been a hindrance when it came to shooting and passing the ball.
Our second mystery stick was sold by W. Wisden & Sons who were a cricket specialist sports retailer. The Wisden name is turns out is a big deal in UK cricket.

Intel 9th Generation Core - Episode 177 - Piltch Point
http://piltchpoint.live/
This week, Avram Piltch has all of the information about Intel's newest generation of processors: the 9th Generation Core, also known as Coffee Lake Refresh. There is a trio of processors, an i5, i7, and i9. The i9 is the most interesting of the lot, upgrading the previous model, which had 6 cores, bringing an additional 2, for a total of 8. The launch did not come without controversy, however, as Intel's independent benchmark, run by Principled Technologies, was flawed at best. The company used standard cooling, standard RAM, and "game mode" on the AMD processor test while using an advanced cooler, overclocked RAM, and the full processor to test the Intel. Avram's got the details on the procs, the tests, and the responses.

The gentlemen's game is all about ups and downs, but still, we have such legends in the game, who went on to make Unbeatable Cricket Records, which doesn't seem to get over any time in the future.
There are so many other cricket records like a test match between South Africa and Australia ending in " 5 hours and 53 minutes", Graham Gooch's "456 runs" in a test match and so many others.

25 Years of Tom’s Hardware
Tom’s Hardware has its name and roots in Dr. Thomas Pabst, who was one of the first people to bring technology journalism to the internet, as early as 1996. Back then, the site was called “Tom’s Hardware and Performance Guide”.

The 1867 directory lists William Wisden as a cricket bat manufacturer at 3 Duke Street; by 1887 he was in partnership with his son as cricket outfitters at 39 Duke Street, Brighton, England.
William Wisden was in fact related to the famous cricketer John Wisden who stood just five feet six inches, and weighed around 44 kilograms. Yet, he became one of the best fast bowlers of his era, running in with a relaxed action followed by very accurate deliveries. He was a good batsman as well, who played with an extremely straight bat.
According to Fuller Pilch, the leading batsman of that era, Wisden was the finest of all-rounders. At Lord’s in 1850, playing for North versus South, he claimed all 10 wickets in the second innings, each and every one of them clean bowled (a feat that has no parallel in First-Class cricket)!
