Free Will Baptist is a denomination of churches that share a common history, name, and an acceptance of the Arminian theology of free grace, free salvation, and free will. Free Will Baptists share similar soteriological views with General Baptists, Separate Baptists and some United Baptists. Evangelism and the self-government of the local church are highly valued. The denomination remains relatively small-town demographically and is especially strong in the southern United States and Midwest, although it was once also strong in New England. The National Association of Free Will Baptists reports just over 250,000 members. The National Association's offices are located in the Nashville, Tennessee neighborhood of Antioch. The denomination operates a regionally accredited college, Welch College (formerly Free Will Baptist Bible College), in Nashville; North American and International Missions agencies; and a publishing house, Randall House Publications. Smaller groups unaffiliated with the National Association are the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists, the United American Free Will Baptists (African American), and well as several local associations in the South.
The Former Free Will Baptist Church is a historic church building at 12 High Street in Milo, Maine. It is home to the Milo Historical Society Museum. Built in 1853, this wood frame structure was Milo's first church, shared initially by Baptist and Free Will Baptist congregations before becoming the exclusive property of the latter. It has served as the local history museum since 1996. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
Description and history
The church is a single-story wood frame structure, with clapboarded exterior and a front-gable roof. A square tower stands attached to the main block's southwest corner, topped by a belfry and a pyramidal roof. The main (southwest-facing) facade has a large central grouping of four sash windows, two over two, with a shallow hood above, and a round-arch louvered opening in the gable end. The main entrance is between this window group and the tower, sheltered by a portico with jigsawn brackets. The left facade has two windows in the wall of the nave and one in the tower, and there are three similar windows in the right facade. The interior is virtually unaltered since its last major renovation c. 1900.
Free Will Baptist Church (New Durham, New Hampshire)
The Free Will Baptist Church is a historic church on Ridge Top Road in New Durham, New Hampshire. The single-story wood-frame church was built in 1819, and is considered the mother church of the Free Will Baptist movement. It was in this area that Benjamin Randall rose to prominence, the founder of the movement, rose to prominence and, who was disfellowshipped by more conventional Baptists for his objections to certain Calvinist teachings. The first organizational meetings of the Free Will Baptists took place in New Durham in 1780; this church was built eleven years after Randall's death. It features modest Greek Revival and Italianate detailing, including corner pilasters, and a single central door flanked by pilasters and topped by a simple entablature. The two-stage tower was added in 1869; its detailing, including a box cornice and Italianate brackets, echo details on the main block.
Diverse from their beginning, those identifying as Baptists today differ widely from one another in what they believe, how they worship, their attitudes toward other Christians, and their understanding of what is important in Christian discipleship.
Historians trace the earliest church labeled "Baptist" back to 1609 in Amsterdam, with English SeparatistJohn Smyth as its pastor. In accordance with his reading of the New Testament, he rejected baptism of infants and instituted baptism only of believing adults. Baptist practice spread to England, where the General Baptists considered Christ's atonement to extend to all people, while the Particular Baptists believed that it extended only to the elect. In 1638, Roger Williams established the first Baptist congregation in the North American colonies. In the mid-18th century, the First Great Awakening increased Baptist growth in both New England and the South. The Second Great Awakening in the South in the early 19th century increased church membership, as did the preachers' lessening of support for abolition and manumission of slavery, which had been part of the 18th-century teachings. Baptist missionaries have spread their church to every continent.
Baptist Church, also known as Stone Church, is a historic church building in Sperry, Iowa, United States. The Baptist congregation that built this church was founded in 1840. They built this building seven years later. In addition to religious services it was the meeting place for a variety of community events. The church building is surrounded by a cemetery, which contains the graves of some of the areas first settlers. The utilitarian design of the church building and the use of local materials is characteristic of pioneer church architecture in Iowa. The 48-by-36-foot (15 by 11m) building is a single-story, gable roof structure. It features a cornice return. The roughly cut stone exterior uses larger stones at the corners for a decorative effect. The interior walls are plaster and the flooring are pine boards. It still houses the original hardwood pews, pulpit, minister's settee, and hand-carved altar. The building was damaged in a tornado in 1964, and the repairs conform to the original character of the church. It was added to the National Register in 1977.

Free Will is a dream Fate is tattooed on our backs We've never even made a choice All we've ever had is sweet Determinism. Sometimes you may feel surprised, Sometime you might even start to feel free But it's just all the effects and causes adding up To everything that had to be. No bra on her tits Her tongue tucked in her cheek And a short black skirt with nothing underneath But sweet Feminism. Sometimes she may seem intimidating Sometimes you might even start to feel uneasy But it's just your conventions and norms, your societal scorns Towards her natural born identity. (You're no help at all, let her be! ) I'm glad to be unhappy again Discontentment is relief I have a confession, I loved my depression and I missed my misery All that sweet Pessimism. Sometimes you may feel alright Sometimes you might even start to think positively But the clouds and rain are coming back 'round again
