One movement, marked 'Andantino moderato'.
Franz Doppler was a famous flute virtuoso of the 19th century, his piece L'oiseau des Bois follows the series of instrumental works describing nature with musical means, popular in romantic music where these kind of works can be found in any kind and number. Whenever the flute plays a virtuoso bird song, the four horns act as a kind of counterpoint, emphasizing the calmness and tranquility of the forest. Sanja Stijačić (flute) graduated and earned her Master degree at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, in the class of Professor Marijan Egić. Beside the academic studies she attended master course conducted by eminent pedagogue Aurel Nicolet (Basel), as well as “Concert’s Academy” master classes at the Petrovaradin Fortress (Prof. Marijan Egić) in 1990, 1991 and 1992. As a soloist and member of chamber ensemble she held over 100 concerts all Serbia, as well as abroad (Hungary, Turkey, Russia, Greece, Switzerland, Romania etc). With notable success she took part in many music festivals (NOMUS, Budva City Theatre, BEMUS, Brankovo kolo, Dubrovnik Summer Games, Sarajevo Winter, LEDAMUS, NIMUS, International chamber music festival Nikšić, Koral – East Sarajevo, Bora’s Week, Zenica Spring etc.). In recent years she has taken a particular interest in multimedia projects, such as Budva City Theatre and Biennale of Cetinje (Montenegro), making successful collaboration with prominent individuals from different artistic domains. Currently, she is engaged as artistic selector of the “International chamber music festival” in Nikšić (Montenegro). She is an active member of the Montenegrin chamber music ensamble “Anderba” and “Sinergija” (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Also, she is a regular member of Matica srpska in Novi Sad and “Miodrag Azanjac Flutist Association” in Belgrade ( Serbia). Her repertoire is includes most acknowledged compositions written for flute from Baroque until XX century music. She is a Full Professor at the Music Academy in East Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) , where she lives.

Slađana Kovač obtained elementary and secondary music education in Leskovac (elementary and secondary music school „Stanislav Binički“ – professor Jelena Đorđević). She graduated from the Music Academy in East Sarajevo in the class of professor Sanja Stijačić in 2007 with an assessment of 10, and in 2012 at the same academy she was awarded the title MASTER OF ARTS – FLAUTIST, with average 10. In addition to the regular study cycle, she attends the seminar of the baroque Academy of chamber music with eminent pedagogues Christian Gartner – traverso flute and Ruben Dubrovski – ensembles (Gmunden – Austria) in 2006. She received a large number of praise and honors for outstanding achievement and a high average during studying. She won the „Vojin Komadina“ award for the most successful student in 2005/2006. As a soloist and member of chamber ensembles she participated in numerous concerts both in the country and abroad (Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Slovenia..). With great success, she participated in many festivals and competitions where she got five first and two third prizes (International Festival of Flutists – Belgrade, Sarajevo Winter Festival, Zenica Spring, International Festival of Chamber Music – Niksic, Festival of Chamber Music – Subotica, Festival flautista – Valjevo, Spring Festival of Chamber Music – Belgrade, International Competition Davorin Jenko – Belgrade …). She is a member of the association for nurturing academic music „New Sound“. She works at the Music Academy in East Sarajevo, as an associate professor, in the subject of Chamber Music.

This piece has been performed by many famous flutists in various concerts and flute festivals all over the world during the years.

Insegna ai corsi di alto perfezionamento all’Accademia di S. Cecilia di Roma "I Fiati", al biennio superiore a Modena e al triennio di alto perfezionamento presso l’Accademia Internazionale “Incontri col Maestro” di Imola. È attualmente Professore di Flauto Principale presso il Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana di Lugano e Visiting Tutor Professor alla RNCM di Manchester.

Andrea Oliva (1977, Modena) is Principal Flautist of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Orchestra in Rome since 2003, member and founder of the Wind Quintet of Santa Cecilia and Concertgebouw and member of the chamber music ensemble "I Cameristi di Santa Cecilia".
He teaches in the annual course "I Fiati" in the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, in the master course of the conservatory "Vecchi-Tonelli" in Modena and in the bachelor course of the Accademia Internazionale "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola.
He is also Professor at the CSI Music University of Lugano, Switzerland and he is currently Visiting Flute Professor at the RNCM of Manchester.
