The Franklin Avenue Shuttle is a New York City Subwayshuttle service operating in Brooklyn. The north terminus is Franklin Avenue, with a transfer available to the IND Fulton Street Line. The south terminus is Prospect Park, with a transfer available to the BMT Brighton Line. The shuttle runs One Person Train Operation with the motorman also being the conductor. The motorman will go to the opposite end to make another run at each terminal. NYCT Rapid Transit operations refer to it internally as the S. Like the other two shuttles, 42nd Street in Manhattan and Rockaway Park in Queens, its route bullet is colored dark slate gray on route signs, station signs, rolling stock, and the official subway map. The S has four stations as of 1999.Consumers Park was closed in 1928 and replaced by the current Botanic Garden station five blocks to the north. There is a visible clearing at the former station location. Dean Street was closed in 1995 due to low paid fare entrance and fare beating.
This station is a bridge above Franklin Avenue along Minnesota State Highway 55, in Minneapolis. This is a center-platform station. Along with the Lake Street station, Franklin Avenue is one of the two above-grade stations on the Blue Line. The station is home to the marquee of the New Franklin theater, located nearby. Service began at this station when the Blue Line opened on June 26, 2004.
The maintenance base of the line is just to the north, between this stop and Cedar-Riverside. When train operators begin and end their shifts, they used to make an extra stop there to take on the new driver. The driver now boards and departs the train at Franklin Avenue Station.
Bus connections
From Franklin Avenue Station, there is a direct connection to routes 2, 67, and 9. Route 22 stops just a block away.
The station complex is named for its proximity to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The free transfer between the Eastern Parkway and Franklin Avenue shuttle platforms was added in 1999 using a passageway that had existed since October 1928, when the BMT Botanic Garden station opened.
The 1999 artwork here is called IL7/Square by Millie Burns. It features iron shapes of leaves on the fence that surrounds the station entrance.
Hello! This is the first video in a series of three where I will ride all three shuttles of the NYC subway. Today, I'm riding the Franklin Avenue Shuttle! Apologies for the late video upload.
