Actors Larking About - by Frank Powell 1938
This film was made in 1938 by Frank Powell, possibly in Southend-on-Sea, who in 1958 was a flunkey at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane where my father George Hoare was manager. Frank gave this film and many others to me around that time, only now with today’s technology can I do anything with them.

You come from a town a bit down the road
You say that you're weary from your heavy load
I don't dance with the devil, but I give him his due
I guess that that makes me a whole lot like you
And if we together can't see eye to eye
Just look for tomorrow, and give it a try
You come from a city that's hours by plane
You say that the lifestyle can drive you insane
Oh, the stress and the strain they can get to me, too
I guess that that makes me a whole lot like you
And if we together can't see eye to eye
Just reach for the future, and give it a try
You come from a country that's shattered and poor
And all that it's brought you is hunger and war
But your faith gives you...
