Bourbon Street (French:Rue Bourbon) is a street in the heart of New Orleans' oldest neighborhood, the French Quarter, in New Orleans, Louisiana. It extends 13 blocks from Canal Street to Esplanade Avenue. While it is now primarily known for its bars and strip clubs, Bourbon Street's history provides a rich insight into New Orleans' past.
History of Bourbon Street and environs
1700 to 1880
The French claimed Louisiana as a colony in the 1690s. Jean Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville was appointed as Director General in charge of developing a colony in the territory. He founded New Orleans in 1718. In 1721, the royal engineer, Adrien de Pauger designed the city's street layout. He named the streets after French royal houses and Catholic saints. Bourbon Street paid homage to France's ruling family, the House of Bourbon.
New Orleans was given to the Spanish in 1763 following the Seven Years' War. In 1788, a major fire destroyed 80% of the city's buildings. The Spanish rebuilt many of the damaged buildings, which are still standing today. For this reason, Bourbon Street and the French Quarter display more Spanish than French influence.
Bourbon Street was a jazz club located at 180 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario. Operating between 1971 and 1986, it was one of Toronto's preeminent jazz clubs and featured many internationally renowned musicians.
History
Bourbon Street was opened in 1971 by Doug Cole, also the owner of George's Spaghetti House. The club featured a largely American musical lineup that was backed by a local house band. In the fall of 1975 both Jim Hall and Paul Desmond recorded live albums at the club for A&M Records. These albums both feature all-Canadian bands.
Cole sold the club in 1983. Bourbon Street continued to feature music until 1986. The building has since been demolished.

Yes. This is a re-upload with new music by Kevin MacLeod. My first upload had the Original Haunted Mansion music and over a couple months - was locked down from the original publisher.
This is the 3rd collaboration between SapphireFoxx and myself. The idea was something I came up with based on my obsession with a certain attraction at a certain theme park. I felt this was a good short to try and release around Halloween. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we did making it. Story by Mako. Animation by SapphireFoxx. Music by Kevin MacLeod. Sound by Mako.

Sitting on a side street, as glancing eyes turn away. Searching for answers in a song, and the cats that run away. Hey Mr. Businessman, won't you go on home to you deluxe accomodations. Cause tonight the sky's my ceiling and I think I see some light behind the moon. Yeah, things get tough on Bourbon Street And the days they go by slow I'll find peace within myself Cause oh I know it lies between my heart and soul. The tower has the clock, but the hour is mine so I think I'll make the best of it. The rest I must have forgotten, but the feeling is there so I guess I cared just a little bit. The dog days have begun, and I guess what's why the cats they run to the country. So I'll just sing my song and thank the Lord for what he's given me. Yeah, things get tough on Bourbon Street And the days they go by slow I'll find peace within myself Cause oh I know it lies between my heart and soul. All the years have taught me that to learn is not so easy. It's the pain that we endure through tribulations. The night is just a window of a day that holds tomorrow. But now it's just a haze. Sitting on a side street, as glancing eyes turn away. Searching for answers in a song and the cats that run away. Yeah, things get tough on Bourbon Street And the days they go by slow I'll find peace within myself
