Firth of Clyde
The Firth of Clyde encloses the largest and deepest coastal waters in the British Isles, sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean by the Kintyre peninsula which encloses the outer firth in Argyll and Ayrshire, Scotland. The Kilbrannan Sound is a large arm of the Firth of Clyde, separating the Kintyre Peninsula from the Isle of Arran. Within the Firth of Clyde is another major island - the Isle of Bute. Given its strategic location, at the entrance to the middle/upper Clyde, Bute played a vitally important military (naval) role during World War II.
The Firth's climate enjoys the benefit of the Gulf Stream from America.
At its entrance the firth is some 26 miles (42 km) wide. Its upper reaches include an area where it is joined by Loch Long and the Gare Loch. This includes the large anchorage off Greenock known as the Tail of the Bank in reference to the sandbar which separates the firth from the estuary of the River Clyde. The Clyde is still almost 2 miles (3 km) wide at the sandbar, and its upper tidal limit is at the tidal Weir adjacent to Glasgow Green.

Scotland (/ˈskɒt.lənd/; Scots: [ˈskɔt.lənd]; Scottish Gaelic: Alba [ˈal̪ˠapə]) is a country that is part of the United Kingdom and covers the northern third of the island of Great Britain. It shares a border with England to the south, and is otherwise surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, with the North Sea to the east and the North Channel and Irish Sea to the south-west. Scottish waters consist of a large sector of the North Atlantic and the North Sea, containing the largest oil reserves in the European Union. This has given Aberdeen, the third-largest city in Scotland, the title of Europe's oil capital.

Burnside Avenue
Burnside Avenue is a main thoroughfare connecting East Hartford, Connecticut's Main Street to Manchester, Connecticut. The road is part of U.S. Route 44. It runs through a low income portion of East Hartford and is home to a significant population of Hispanics and African Americans. East Hartford Middle school is located near the center of the avenue and is next to the main campus of Goodwin College. The eastern portion of Burnside Avenue has little housing, but is significantly developed with strip malls and restaurants. The Avenue is home to two important parks in East Hartford. Martin Park in the west has a swimming pool and a skating park along with access to many of East Hartford's bike trails. The east of the avenue has an entrance to Wickham Park, a large private park containing an aviary, bike trails, hiking trails, picnic grounds, and a view of Hartford's skyline.
Before the turn of the 20th century, Burnside was colloquially considered a separate village from the rest of East Hartford. Its rough terrain and proximity to the Hockanum river led to early artifice, so that even before the industrial revolution, it was dominated by paper mills. By 1900, Burnside was developing as a streetcar suburb. Its development prior to Pratt and Whitney (1929) explains its high density relative to the post-war housing so prevalent in the remainder of the town.

Scotland, Connecticut
Scotland is a town in Windham County, Connecticut, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 1,556. Scotland is a predominantly rural town, with agriculture as the principal industry.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 18.7 square miles (48.3 km²), of which, 18.6 square miles (48.2 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.27%) is water. It was incorporated in 1857.
History
In 1700 Isaac Magoon purchased 1,950 acres (7.9 km2) of land from then Windham and thus began Scotland’s History. He named the town Scotland as a way of commemorating his ancestral home. Scotland was incorporated in May 1857.
Government
The town still maintains the town meeting as its form of government with a board of selectmen. The town also has eight boards & commissions, including Inlands & Wetlands, Planning & Zoning and Board of Education.
Attractions
Scotland is home to the D'Elia Antique Tool Museum. The museum was built in 2005 and is housed in the same building as the Scotland Public Library. It is the home of over 1200 antique woodworking planes dating back to the mid-18th century. Another attraction is the Samuel Huntington house which located on Huntington Rd or Route 14

Sky Majesty maintained her unbeaten record with a gutsy success in the Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Firth of Clyde at Ayr. The Group Three contest attracted a field of 13 fillies but only one of them was unbeaten. Admittedly, Sky Majesty had only had run once but the form had been boosted and she clearly had plenty of potential, so much so she was sent off the 16-5 favourite. For one so inexperienced she looked very straightforward, with Callum Rodriguez coming down the centre of the track and making his challenge entering the final furlong. Molaise was the son of Cairell, the king of Ulster, and the Scottish princess Gemma. On his father's death he declined the chance to succeed him as king, and instead turned to the life of a hermit in a cave on what became known after him as Eilean Molaise, and is now called Holy Island, off the east coast of the Isle of Arran. It is thought that Molaise chose this location because the island already had a reputation as a spiritual place, which in his day may have been known as Inis Shroin, or Island of the Water Spirit.

“I actually think a bit more cut in the ground would suit her better too.
“I suspect she’ll run again but there’s nothing set in stone, possibly the Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte (at Chantilly). That’s a Group Two against the boys but it might be worth a look on October 12.”

Skye is the second largest island in Scotland and in our opinion, it has the most picturesque views you’ll encounter on your trip. The Old Man of Storr is the most iconic sight on the island and attracts many hikers and tourists alike.

It is locally known as Wee Donald. It was built in 1877 by David and Thomas Stevenson. The lighthouse cottages were built behind to house four families of lighthouse keepers and a walled garden was made.
Saint Molaise lived from 566 until 640. He was an Irish monk and bishop who a number of years as a hermit living on Holy Island, off the east coast of the Isle of Arran. During his life he also visited Rome, and he is credited with bringing to Ireland the Roman Church's method of calculating the date of Easter. Molaise was the son of Cairell, the king of Ulster, and the Scottish princess Gemma. On his father's death he declined the chance to succeed him as king, and instead turned to the life of a hermit in a cave on what became known after him as Eilean Molaise, and is now called Holy Island, off the east coast of the Isle of Arran. It is thought that Molaise chose this location because the island already had a reputation as a spiritual place, which in his day may have been known as Inis Shroin, or Island of the Water Spirit.

Sky Majesty maintained her unbeaten record with a gutsy success in the Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Firth of Clyde at Ayr.
The Group Three contest attracted a field of 13 fillies but only one of them was unbeaten.
Admittedly, Sky Majesty had only had run once but the form had been boosted and she clearly had plenty of potential, so much so she was sent off the 16-5 favourite.
For one so inexperienced she looked very straightforward, with Callum Rodriguez coming down the centre of the track and making his challenge entering the final furlong.
Irish challenger Grand Marques came with a run and the final contender was Maw Lam, who finished third in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, but Sky Majesty held on by a neck and a short head.
Haggas said: “She did really well and she had to be really tough.
“She’s come a long way in a short time, she didn’t win her first race by far and she hasn’t won by far today.
“She did well because she had no experience against some experienced horses, so it was a very pleasing performance so it was good to see.
“I actually think a bit more cut in the ground would suit her better too.
“I suspect she’ll run again but there’s nothing set in stone, possibly the Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte (at Chantilly). That’s a Group Two against the boys but it might be worth a look on October 12.”

Firth of Clyde
The Firth of Clyde encloses the largest and deepest coastal waters in the British Isles, sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean by the Kintyre peninsula which encloses the outer firth in Argyll and Ayrshire, Scotland. The Kilbrannan Sound is a large arm of the Firth of Clyde, separating the Kintyre Peninsula from the Isle of Arran. Within the Firth of Clyde is another major island - the Isle of Bute. Given its strategic location, at the entrance to the middle/upper Clyde, Bute played a vitally important military (naval) role during World War II.
The Firth's climate enjoys the benefit of the Gulf Stream from America.
At its entrance the firth is some 26 miles (42 km) wide. Its upper reaches include an area where it is joined by Loch Long and the Gare Loch. This includes the large anchorage off Greenock known as the Tail of the Bank in reference to the sandbar which separates the firth from the estuary of the River Clyde. The Clyde is still almost 2 miles (3 km) wide at the sandbar, and its upper tidal limit is at the tidal Weir adjacent to Glasgow Green.
