What is Fascia
Fascia is the most abundant connective tissue in the body that provides support to every muscle, tendon, ligament, organ, nerve, joint and bone in your body.
Fascia has dense sensory nerves and it is believed to be responsible for the soreness we feel after hard exercise or pain we feel after injuries.
So, if you’re working on stretching, strengthening or relieving pain from your muscles, remember that fascia also plays a key role.

Top 3 Fascia Killers: Caffeine, Stretching, and Isolation Training
Our Top 3 Fascia Killers are the best things to avoid if you want to kickstart your journey towards pain-free movement 👇
1. Caffeine
Caffeine stimulates stress hormones like cortisol.
Excess cortisol causes fascia to become rigid and constrict, leading to the loss of fascia’s elastic function over time. This leads to more joint stiffness and stress on your body.
We’re over-stimulated and under-trained, caffeine makes it harder to find balance with your neuro-myofascial-skeletal system.
2. Stretching and Yoga
When you stretch absent of movement (through space), fascia becomes over used or flaccid in some spots and ignored or stiff in other spots. This leads to problems with muscles contracting effectively and supporting the joints.
When you perform most Yoga poses or static stretch...

Cellulite: More Than Skin Deep – The Fascia Factor | MythBusters Episode 8
Ok, so I love this guy, Josh Taylor. His take on society’s judgment of cellulite is spot on. I can tell he’s a real woman lover, and I greatly appreciate his video. 🙌
My take is slightly different. I’ve been accused over the years of “praying on women’s insecurities.” This could not be further from the truth. When I think about cellulite, I don’t see it any different than a jammed hip, scoliosis, or a muscle imbalance. These are all issues that are rooted in fascia.
AND.. they are NOT benign. Just because cellulite doesn’t “hurt” doesn’t mean a storm isn’t brewing. Cellulite below the skin can compress nerves and blood flow, interfere with muscle activity, and pull bones out of place.
So sisters and brother… I’m doing you a solid. From a place of love! Allow me to educate and support yo...

Understanding Fascia – Flexibility, Power & Pain
PDF guide here: https://www.yogabody.com/fascia-facts-youtube/
Do you wake up in the morning feeling stiff and tight? Maybe you can feel specific areas of tightness and inflexibility? It could be caused by the connective tissue, fascia; and if so, this video is for you.
Fascia is a dense connective tissue found throughout your body. It’s like a three-dimensional web encasing and supporting your muscles, organs, nerves, and blood vessels. It plays a crucial role in maintaining structural integrity, transmitting forces, and providing a pathway for communication between different body parts.
Fascia isn't a single entity, however. There are multiple layers – from superficial fascia found just beneath your skin, to deep fascia surrounding your muscles and bones, and then visceral fascia env...

When you perform most Yoga poses or static stretches at you’re taking away elastic recoil, or the “spring like” motion we see in animals and people that move well.
3. Isolation Training
If you only focus on training one muscle at a time, this may hinder your fascia’s ability of getting your muscles to work together.
This is why people tend to over-develop the muscles they already use well, and under-develop the ones that aren’t being stimulated enough through movement movement. This leads to overuse can lead to repetitive strain injuries (RSIs) or cumulative trauma disorders (CTDs).
In order to begin hydrating and promoting a healthier fascial system, it’s important to stimulate our deep fascia closer to the periosteum of our bones. When you can stimulate movement at the deepest levels, fascia that is the hardest to reach, is stimulated to move properly. While most practices aim to help the superficial layers of fascia, we get to the deeper aspects of it. This is why we get drastic and life changing results with FP doers around the world.

Allow me to educate and support you on your journey to healthy legs.

Understanding Fascia – Flexibility, Power & Pain

Do you wake up in the morning feeling stiff and tight? Maybe you can feel specific areas of tightness and inflexibility? It could be caused by the connective tissue, fascia; and if so, this video is for you.
Fascia is a dense connective tissue found throughout your body. It’s like a three-dimensional web encasing and supporting your muscles, organs, nerves, and blood vessels. It plays a crucial role in maintaining structural integrity, transmitting forces, and providing a pathway for communication between different body parts.
Fascia isn't a single entity, however. There are multiple layers – from superficial fascia found just beneath your skin, to deep fascia surrounding your muscles and bones, and then visceral fascia enveloping your organs. Each type has unique properties and functions, collectively contributing to your body's stability, flexibility, and overall wellbeing.
Fascia differs from muscles and other connective tissues in that it’s very smart with many times more sensory nerve endings, making it almost as sensitive as skin to stretching, strain, heat, and injury. As a result, it’s really important to keep your fascia healthy and mobile.
In this video, I’ll reveal more about fascia and why it’s so important, the types of exercise that will keep it strong and healthy, as well as some fascia-friendly nutrients to add to your diet. Let’s get started!
