The Far North Line is a rural railway line entirely within the Highland area of Scotland, extending from Inverness to Thurso and Wick. It is the northernmost railway in the United Kingdom. The line has many sections of single track, mostly north of Dingwall. In common with other railway lines in the Highlands and northern Lowlands, it is not electrified and all trains are diesel-powered.
Route
Like the A9 road north of Inverness, the Far North Line generally follows the line of the east-facing Moray Firth coast. Much of the population of the far north of Scotland is concentrated in coastal areas and, in places, the railway is almost on the shore, the track running along the raised beaches left behind as land rebounded following the end of the last Ice Age.
The railway links many of the same places as the road. Many more places were served by both the railway and the road before three new road bridges were built: across the Moray Firth (between Inverness and the Black Isle), the Cromarty Firth and the Dornoch Firth. The railway is now, in many places, a long way inland from the route of the A9.
The Red Line is a 12.8-mile (20.6km)METRORaillight rail route operated by METRO in Houston, Texas. It is the oldest line in the METRORail system, and opened on January 1, 2004. A 5.3-mile (8.5km) northern extension to the first 7.5-mile (12.1km) section of the line, originally scheduled to open in 2014, opened ahead of schedule on December 21, 2013.
Route
The approximately 13-mile (21km) Red Line runs through the heart of the historic North Side, a storied neighborhood rooted in rail that came into being with the expansion, in the 1880s, of the Hardy Rail Line. Starting at the Fannin South station, through the Texas Medical Center, Museum District, Midtown, and through Downtown onto the UH–Downtown station. The line continues north on North Main to Boundary Street, crosses east to Fulton Street, and proceeds north on Fulton to the Northline Transit Center and Houston Community College, Northline Mall Center. The length of line south of Hogan Street is located on an elevated structure. Currently older metro rails from the old Fannin South to UH–Downtown line cannot reach the Red Line Extended portion of the line, and will always stop at Burnett.
Nordbanen is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen. It connects Copenhagen with the city of Hillerød, and with several northern suburbs.
Stations
Service patterns
The basic service consists of service B which stops at all stations until Holte, and E which runs with limited stops until Holte and then stops at all stations until Hillerød.
Between 1950 and 1989 rush-hour and limited-stop on the radial ran under service letters C, Cc and Cx. Service A ran on Nordbanen from 1979 to 2007, first as the stopping service until Holte and later (from 1989) as the limited-stop service to Hillerød.
History
Nordbanen was the second railway to reach Copenhagen in 1863. It was originally the main line to Elsinore before the more direct Kystbanen opened in 1897. The section from Hillerød to Elsinore still exists and is today the Little North Line operated by the railway companyLokaltog.
South of Hellerup the original Nordbanen followed a much more westerly route than the current line, taking it along the present ring line alignment to Ryparken and thence through Nørrebro to the 1863-1911 central station at present-day Kampmannsgade. The trains to Holte and Hillerød moved to the current line in 1921, but the old alignment was used by freight trains until 1930 and still leaves clear traces on a modern street map.

Riding Houston METRORail Red Line Southbound (train model: 2012 Siemens S70 H2) from Burnett Transit Center (TC) / Casa de Amigos in Downtown Houston to Fannin South TC (near NRG Stadium).
BRIEF HISTORY:
The Red Line (formally known as the Main Street Line) is one of the busiest rail line in the nation. This 7.5 miles (12 km) light rail line journey (traveling between NRG Stadium, Texas Medical Center, Midtown and Downtown) carries more people. In addition, it nearly carries more people than Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) rail network (largest light rail network in the nation) in Dallas Texas. In addition, METRORail Red Line carried more people without having a rail network (before Green and Purple Lines started operations).
In January 2024, the Red Line will be 20 years old...that is unbelievable...

First bit of action from Houston's MetroRail! This video features Red Line trains around Main Street Square station in downtown Houston, as well as a 2 green and purple line trains.
METRORail is Houston's light rail network that connects downtown Houston with the surrounding area. There are a total of three lines, with the Red Line running North/South, and the Green and Purple Lines, which run East/West.
Lots more METRORail action coming in the next couple weeks, as well as action from Dallas's DART network and Austin's MetroRail!
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed!

Ranging across Canada and the northern United States, and occasionally found as far south as NorthCarolina, the paper birch is notable for surviving nearly to the tree line in the arctic, a place where few hardwoods can reach.
In second on a global scale was Saudia (86.35 percent) followed by Delta AirLines (83.46 percent). As far as airlines in NorthAmerica go, Delta took the top spot.
Mumbai MetroLine 3 will run from Navy Nagar in the far south of Mumbai to Aarey Depot in the north-centre and will include connections to other metro lines, monorail, suburban rail, inter-city rail, and Mumbai's International Airport.
Russian troops attacked Ukraine with a barrage of strike drones late on January 3, including the north central regions of Zhytomyr and Kyiv far from the front line, the Air ForceCommand reported.
Perhaps it’s my love of the north, especially the boreal forests and harsh climate ... But I don’t need to drive too far north to experience the beauty of Quebec’s wilderness ... Running over hills along the north shore of the St.
The marble used for the floor and ceiling was produced in Anatolia and Syria, and the bricks used in the walls came from as far away as NorthAfrica. The interior of Hagia Sophia is lined with enormous ...
Forests in the far north also have a tendency for being disturbed by other factors ... Ultimately, though, any nature-based solution must be led by communities in the far north, who live at the front line of climate change.
... how far north the rapid thaw will reach remains uncertain at this stage ... The FarNorthLine between Inverness and Wick was closed due to landslips at three sections of the route and flooding at Beauly.
Forecasters warn of patchy freezing fog especially in the west, while the far north, Orkney and Shetland will also feel the Arctic grip ... The FarNorthLine between Inverness and Wick is out of action with rail operator ScotRail saying.
