Judges at Newcastle Crown Court heard horrifying details of chilling crimes as these offenders faced justice.
Jason Urwin, jailed for breaching a restraining order by harassing his mother.
Lee Owens, who admitted to causing death by dangerous driving.
Ryan O'Connor, Keith Robert Brown and Steven Cairns. These drug gang members were jailed for more than 28 years after officers infiltrated a series of encrypted messages.
Ringleader Ryan O’Connor has been brought to justice alongside partners Keith Robert Brown and Steven Cairns after they were each convicted of being part of a conspiracy to sell Class A drugs across Gateshead.
Robin Lowrie, jailed for a bomb hoax and perverting justice.
Karl Cain, who admitted to causing racially aggravated fear or provocation of violence.
Robert Curtis has been jailed after being caught with child abuse images for a second time.
The pervert had been locked up in 2015 and was subject to strict rules on his internet use designed to stop him from offending again.
But a routine risk assessment revealed he had been at it again and had been using data deletion software.
Robert Atkinson was caught speeding at some 121mph on a dual carriageway.
Nathan Ewart and Alexander Reeves were jailed at Newcastle Crown Court for two robberies and an attempted robbery in Sunderland city centre.
Ethan Courtney, a thief who stole from a vulnerable stroke victim after pestering him for a year.
Convicted sex offender Mark Tweddle raped a sleeping vulnerable woman after targeting her online. Dangerous Tweddle had been released on licence after previously preying on a 13-year-old girl when he met his latest victim on the chat and dating app MeetMe.
Aaron Angus, jailed for robbery, fraud, burglary and having an offensive weapon.
Kerry McCrudden, jailed for arson.
Sean Robson, jailed for assaulting his new partner.
Gordon Head, jailed for robbery and theft.
Vengeful Callum Hackett set fire to a house and used ammonia as a weapon during a night of violence aimed at his mother’s ex.
Alan Mennie, jailed for attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
James Andrews, who has been breaking and entering since 1978, left a trail of destruction, fear and loss by targeting family-run businesses and charities across Tyneside.
John Wilson, of South Shields, was jailed for rape and indecent assault.
Christoper Longley's encryption skills blocked police from checking if his hard drive contained child abuse images. Police had found material on Longley’s computer that indicated the encrypted hard drive contained Category A indecent images, the most serious type.
Convicted sex offender Francis Hall has been jailed again after he failed to tell a new friend about his previous offending.
Robert Askew, found guilty of murder, false imprisonment and assault.
Samuel Scrimshaw, locked up for attempted robbery and possessing a bladed article.
Shaun Dodd, who attacked his new partner in front of her five-year-old daughter.
Isan Nichol, jailed for drug dealing.
Philip Patterson and Sean Shotton, robbers, who carried out a random attack in Newcastle have now been jailed after their DNA was found on the victim’s clothing.
Steven Armstrong, jailed for arson.
Giles Binns, jailed for having indecent images and breaching his sex offences prevention order.
Gary Patterson, jailed for sexual activity with a child.
Jason Skinner, jailed for trying to engage in sex chat with a child.
Callum Bell, jailed for sexual assault.
Jordan Fawcett led police on a high-speed chase in Newcastle with a seven-year-old passenger in the car.
Anthony Armstrong bit part of another man's ear off during a fight.
David Appleby, jailed for shoplifting offences.
Pervert Robert Harrison, who got a child to send him indecent images of herself, was snared by his wife.

With speakeasy-style pubs becoming increasingly popular, a new guide released this week claims to identity 'the best hidden and secret bars In the UK'.
Online retailer The Bottle Club has ranked pubs on grounds of secrecy and creativity - in terms of disguised entrances - as well as cocktail range, cost and Google ratings.
London came out tops in the rankings while its top 10 list featured a number of cities including Edinburgh and Dublin as well as Manchester, Liverpool and York - but not once does Newcastle have a mention.
Not a single pub in the city makes the list so why not?
Newcastle is not without its speakeasies and secret boozers - so secret and well-hidden perhaps that they simply haven't been noticed.
To make up for the oversight, we have picked out our own top 10 hidden gems that are worth tracking down if you haven't tried them. Here's where the guide has missed - and it includes one hideaway which has just been named one of the top cocktail bars in the UK.
