Entropy (disambiguation)
Entropy originates from machine engineering, where in a process involving heat it is a measure of the portion of heat becoming unavailable for doing work, e.g. reversal of the process just mentioned. Entropy is also frequently used with emphasis of order or disorder properties of disparate areas and surveyed in the following:

Entropy
In thermodynamics, entropy (usual symbol S) is a measure of the number of specific ways in which a thermodynamic system may be arranged, commonly understood as a measure of disorder. According to the second law of thermodynamics the entropy of an isolated system never decreases; such systems spontaneously evolve towards thermodynamic equilibrium, the configuration with maximum entropy. Systems which are not isolated may decrease in entropy. Since entropy is a state function, the change in the entropy of a system is the same for any process going from a given initial state to a given final state, whether the process is reversible or irreversible. However irreversible processes increase the combined entropy of the system and its environment.
The change in entropy (ΔS) was originally defined ...

ViZDoom 15: Introduction to entropy regularization. Maths!
We go over the maths for entropy regularization, using graphs, matplotlib, 3-d graphs, and pytorch.
This is part of a series where we get the computer to learn to play Doom FPS, using reinforcement learning, https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdBvOJzNTtDUO4UC7R6N6_H-TFa78dka1 . We are using ViZDoom to control the Doom game from Python. We are using the PyTorch deep learning framework to build a neural network that will learn. The neural network contains a convolutional neural network, which will see what we see, and then can control the game.

Partial Label Learning by Entropy Minimization
Xuejun Han (Carleton University).
Partial label learning deals with the problem where each training example is associated with a set of candidate labels, only one of which is assumed to be valid. To learn from such ambiguous labeling information, the critical point is to disambiguate the set of candidate labels, thereby targeting the ground-truth label. By utilizing the nature that only one of the candidate labels is correct, we employ the entropy minimization strategy to push the model making confident predictions of the training data. By doing this, the ground-truth labels are likely to make more contributions to the model training. Finally, comparative experiments on a number of real-world datasets are conducted, clearly demonstrateing the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

The Ln(Pi) for the top row should be -0.36 and Pi x Ln(Pi) should be -0.25. The correct total for the last column of the table is -0.94. Discusses the different terms of abundance, species richness, and diversity and how to calculate Shannon diversity index. Note: there is a miscalculation in the table at 1:34. The Ln(Pi) for the top row should be -0.36 and Pi x Ln(Pi) should be -0.25. The correct total for the last column of the table is -0.94. The diversity value for community A (shown beginning at 2:44) is 0.94.
