Glorious Black History Moors, The Blacks Who Ruled Spain
The view that Black Africans were historically viewed as a threat is a complex issue with multiple factors. One significant factor is the history of colonialism and the European conquest of Africa. European powers colonised Africa for its natural resources, and the perception of Africans as "primitive" or "uncivilised" was used to justify the exploitation and subjugation of African peoples.
Another factor is the transatlantic slave trade, which saw millions of Africans forcibly taken from their homes and transported to the Americas as slaves. The dehumanization of Africans as property and the violent treatment they received from their slave owners further reinforced the perception of Africans as a threat.
Additionally, racism and ...

What on Earth Happened to the Moors?
What on Earth happened to the Moors, and who were they exactly? In the United States and Europe, the connotation of the term "Moor" has evolved extensively over time, to the point where in most Western depictions they are portrayed exclusively as people of dark-skinned Sub-Saharan African descent, but is this actually accurate to the history and region from which they originated?
This is a contentious subject due to the historic tensions throughout the Mediterranean between Muslims, Christians and Jews, but in today's video we are going to be looking at the actual Maurs or Moors of North Africa, and what happened to them after their conquest of Iberia, Sicily and other parts of Southern Europe, as well as taking a look at some other groups that have adopted the term "Moor" over the years....

The Moor - Amazing Discoveries in an eerie and dangerous Habitat
Moors and peatlands are oases in the cultivated landscape of Central Europe. Nature holds many surprises in a moor: It seems as if some of the most bizarre and colourful members of our native species live in the bog. Plants that eat animals live here and mushrooms that suck the live out of plants. The rutting dance of the Great snipes and the hatching of a great crane chick are just a few of the miracles happening in a moor every season. Today- the European Union is runner-up world champion in setting free hazardous greenhouse gases through the destruction of moors and bogs. The film shows the biodiversity of the often rarely recognized habitat - and it is a quiet appeal: SAVE and PRESERVE the last intact MOORS!

The dehumanization of Africans as property and the violent treatment they received from their slave owners further reinforced the perception of Africans as a threat.
Additionally, racism and prejudice against Black people have been pervasive throughout history and continue to be a problem today. This bias has often led to the assumption that Black people are inherently violent or dangerous, perpetuating the stereotype of the "angry Black man" or "aggressive Black woman."
In short, the perception of Black Africans as a threat has deep roots in history, including colonialism, slavery, and ongoing prejudice and discrimination. It is a complex issue that requires a nuanced understanding of history and culture to fully grasp.

Moors, bogs and wetlands can be found all over in Europe. Everyone has at least heard about this habitat but most know little about it. Only 1% of the Middle European wetlands are still untouched. A gigantic amount of carbohydrate is stored inside these wetlands. But knowing about this fact does not stop their destruction. Climate change and global warming are on everyone’s mind – stopping the destruction of moors and wetlands would be one great step towards the reduction of greenhouse gases.
This film shows the beauty and the magic inside the moors and its message is clear :”Save and protect our last moors and wetlands”

This is a contentious subject due to the historic tensions throughout the Mediterranean between Muslims, Christians and Jews, but in today's video we are going to be looking at the actual Maurs or Moors of North Africa, and what happened to them after their conquest of Iberia, Sicily and other parts of Southern Europe, as well as taking a look at some other groups that have adopted the term "Moor" over the years. Thanks for watching!

Eerie and menacing, yet hauntingly beautiful and highly evocative. The rugged Moor landscape has long fuelled our imagination, inspiring artists and poets, evoking images both terrifying and deeply romantic. It’s a land of contrasts. Wide open heaths, windswept and barren in winter, are transformed into wonderful carpets of white, fluffy cotton grass in summer. Opeth - The Moor
Track 1 from Opeth's 1999 album "Still Life"
Genre: (Progressive) Death Metal
Lyrics:
The sigh of summer upon my return
Fifteen alike since I was here
Bathed in deep fog, blurring my trail
Snuffing the first morning rays
Weary from what might have been ages
Still calm with my mind at peace
Would I prosper or fall, drain the past
The lapse of the moment took it's turn
I was foul and tainted, devoid of faith
Wearing my death-mask at birth
The hands of God, decrepit and thin
Cold caress and then nothing
I was taken away from my plight
A treason bestowed to the crowd
Branded a jonah with fevered blood
Ungodly freak, defiler
Pale touch, writhing in the embers
Damp mud burning in my eyes
All the faces turned away
And all would sneer at my demise
Outcast with dogmas forged below
Seared and ...

Large bears and wolves roam alongside delicately fluttering butterflies, the bubbling calls of black grouse and the enchanting trills of the great snipe.

Opeth - The Moor
Track 1 from Opeth's 1999 album "Still Life"
Genre: (Progressive) Death Metal

Track 1 from Opeth's 1999 album "Still Life"
Genre: (Progressive) Death Metal
Lyrics:
The sigh of summer upon my return
Fifteen alike since I was here
Bathed in deep fog, blurring my trail
Snuffing the first morning rays
Weary from what might have been ages
Still calm with my mind at peace
Would I prosper or fall, drain the past
The lapse of the moment took it's turn
I was foul and tainted, devoid of faith
Wearing my death-mask at birth
The hands of God, decrepit and thin
Cold caress and then nothing
I was taken away from my plight
A treason bestowed to the crowd
Branded a jonah with fevered blood
Ungodly freak, defiler
Pale touch, writhing in the embers
Damp mud burning in my eyes
All the faces turned away
And all would sneer at my demise
Outcast with dogmas forged below
Seared and beaten, banished from where I was born
No mercy would help me on my way
In the pouring rain nothing is the same
Vows in ashes
I pledge myself to no-one
Seethed and spiteful
All shudder at the call of my name
If you'll bear with me
You'll fear of me
There is no forgiveness in these eyes
For any of you but one
Dispel the mist for now
Melinda is the reason why I've come
She is waterdrops over the pyre
A thistle in my hands
Stained and torn, aged and brown
Virtous shell with kindred innocence
I awoke from the miasma
Passing swiftly through the moor
This is here, waters stir
And in the distance all that was lost
If you'll bear with me
You'll fear of me
You'd never leave me to
A fate with you
