The Princess interview Diana documentary by Ed Perkins, tragic story, cautionary tale
Director Ed Perkins on feature-length documentary The Princess, why he was compelled to make a documentary about the icon that was Princess Diana and why now, the desire to make something fresh by focusing on archival footage and audio only with no narration or talking heads and, in doing so, flipping the focus back onto the audience and how our own obsession with and consumption of media about the princess was part of what fed the frenzy that surrounded her tragic story, how he hopes it forms a cautionary tale for how we treat people in the public eye.
The Princess is in selected cinemas on 30 June 2022.
