So, today, we're going to teach you the broad outlines of the so-called Middle Ages, and look at events like the Black Plague, the Hundred Years War, and the Western Schism of the Catholic Church that set the stage for the history of modern Europe.

Countryballs - History of Europe (European Union)
History of Modern Europe in Countryballs | From the Blocs and Napoleon to Modernity"
Welcome to a fascinating journey through the history of Europe from antiquity to the present day, presented in Countryballs format! 🌍🎉 In this video we will go through centuries of events and great changes, accompanied by cute and funny characters in Countryballs style.
Our adventure will begin in ancient Greece. 🏛️ We will meet the Countryballs characters representing Sparta and Athens and see their great achievements in philosophy, science and politics. We will meet Plato,
Aristotle and, of course, Greek myths in the form of Countryballs!
Moving on to Ancient Rome, we will see the rise of the Roman Empire and its massive influence across the continent. 🏛️ We will feel the greatness of Julius Caesar, Nero and Emperor Augustus, and laugh at the internal conflicts and political intrigues that take place in the pages of history.
In the Middle Ages, we will see Europe sink into the misty time of knights and castles. 🏰 Meeting King Arthur, the Crusades and famous figures such as Richard the Lionheart and Saladin will allow us to see how the events of those times shaped modern Europe.
Moving forward, we will explore the Renaissance, a time of revitalization of art, science and culture. 🎨 We meet Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, discover their great works and don't forget exciting moments such as the Protestant Reformation and the struggle between the Catholic Church and the Protestants.
And then we get into the era of the Great French Revolution and Napoleon. 🇫🇷 Discuss the great changes that took place in Europe in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and see how France, under Napoleon's leadership, sought to change the face of the continent. We will witness significant changes and events such as the Congress of Vienna and the Napoleonic Wars.
The 20th century will bring new challenges and conflicts: world wars and the creation of the European Union. 🌍💥 We will show how the devastating events of the First and Second World Wars changed the map of Europe and how, after the war, countries came together to create a single economic and political union.
At the conclusion of our journey we will reach the present day. 🌐 We will see how the countries of Europe interact within the EU, face new challenges such as migration crises and political changes, and discuss how today's Europe is coping with these challenges.
This video is the perfect way to understand how the countries and peoples of Europe have shaped and interacted over the centuries, through Countryballs fascinating and comical approach. Subscribe to our channel so you don't miss this fascinating journey into the world of European history! 🎬🇪🇺

Corrections / extra info: (thanks to the comments that pointed it out!)
-Russia burnt Moscow, its capital is St.Petersburg, not Moscow.
-The lost of Napoleon was not directly caused by "General Winter". in fact, Russia's weather wasn't even at its coldest when Napoleon and his troops left Russia. The deaths are mainly caused by disrupted supply lines, Russian assaults, the lack of forages(food), and diseases.
-Prussia wanted to unite all German states, not all German speaking countries. Unifying all the German states was called the "Little Germany solution," while unifying the German speaking areas was the "Greater Germany solution." Prussia didn't go with the Greater solution, because that meant annexing Austria, Czechia, and Slovenia, which will tip Europe's balance of power, and thus turn other European countries against Prussia.
- I forgor the Crimea war 💀
Time spent: 264 hrs 17 min
(just on animations. doesnt include researching & editing time)
App: Krita, Final cut
This video includes the history of the napoleonic wars, revolutions, Italian unification, and German unification.

Early Modern Era (1500 - 1800) | The Renaissance, Pirates, European Colonization Documentary
THIS VIDEO IS PART OF A LONGER HISTORY OF THE WORLD DOCUMENTARY THAT COVERS ALL TIME PERIODS: https://youtu.be/T5PwyuzSYcs
The early modern period of modern history follows the late Middle Ages of the post-classical era. Although the chronological limits of this period are open to debate, the timeframe spans the period after the late post-classical or Middle Ages (c. 1400–1500) through the beginning of the Age of Revolutions (c. 1800). It is variously demarcated by historians as beginning with the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453, the Renaissance period in Europe and Timurid Central Asia, the Muslim conquests in the Indian subcontinent, the end of the Crusades, the Age of Discovery (especially the voyages of Christopher Columbus beginning in 1492 but also Vasco da Gama's discove...

The beginning of modern Europe was a time of confusion, excitement, suspicion, hope, despair, and ideas. It was a time of a lot of change spread out over just a few hundred years, but the end result was a completely different world than the one that had come before it.
The book includes details of the transition from the Middle Ages to the early modern era, where Europe saw significant shifts across the continent in phases. The years following the 30 Years War until the 1800s are treated as a transition between the early and current modern eras. The unrest that started at the end of the Middle Ages exploded following the Thirty Years’ War, and it marked the change to many of the thought processes widely accepted as true today.

The Reformation leads into a series of Wars of Religion from the mid 1500s to mid 1600s. We go over the wars in France, the Spanish wars against the Dutch, the Wars of the Three Kingdoms in the British Isles, and finally the devastating Thirty Years War. There are also parts about social and economic change, focusing on the rise of mercantilism and the Witch Hunts.
This leads into the Age of Absolutism, marked by the reign of Louis XIV in France in the late 1600s. We go over 3 of his wars, with a focus on the War of Spanish Succession.
We end with a brief look at the new European powers of the 1700s, the Prussians, Austrians, and Russians.
It is the 2nd episode of our Early Modern series, which goes over the history of the world from roughly 1500 to 1800. The 1st episode dealt with the Age of Discovery.

It will be divided into 5 videos about the Early Modern period (c. 1500 - 1800) all over the world, and will be called Phase 3. Once these 5 videos are completed, we will move onto Phase 4 of the project, but this series will be considered completed, and compiled into ONE MEGA-DOCUMENTARY containing all 5 parts.

Welcome to the Early Modern World, a megadocumentary taking you across the world after the Medieval Period, from around 1500 - 1800! We go through the Age of Discovery, how it affected different societies in South and Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Americas. the Wars of Religion, and Age of Absolutism, before we head further East to the Ottomans in the Near East, Safavids in Persia, and Mughals in India.
1800). It is variously demarcated by historians as beginning with the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453, the Renaissance period in Europe and Timurid Central Asia, the Muslim conquests in the Indian subcontinent, the end of the Crusades, the Age of Discovery (especially the voyages of Christopher Columbus beginning in 1492 but also Vasco da Gama's discovery of the sea route to India in 1498), and ending around the French Revolution in 1789, or Napoleon's rise to power.
CLICK HERE IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD FROM ANCIENT TO MODERN: https://youtu.be/p7DGnK-rvlQ
Early modern trends in various regions of the world represented a shift away from medieval modes of organization, politically and economically. Feudalism declined in Europe, and Christians and Christendom saw the end of the Crusades and of religious unity under the Roman Catholic Church. The old order was destabilized by the Protestant Reformation, which caused a backlash that expanded the Inquisition and sparked the disastrous European Wars of Religion, which included the especially bloody Thirty Years' War and ended with the establishment of the modern international system in the Peace of Westphalia. Along with the European colonization of the Americas, this period also contained the Commercial Revolution and the Golden Age of Piracy.
This documentary about the Early Modern Period is a bare-bones introduction to the world after the Middle Ages, from around the year 1500 until around 1800. The focus is global, instead of only Europe. It is 3rd in our 4-part TIME PERIOD series
Main focuses:
Ming dynasty, Qing dynasty, Japanese unification, Invasion of Korea, Mughals and Marathas, Malacca Sultanate, Durrani Empire, Ottoman expansion, Thirty Years' War, Seven Year's War, War of Spanish Succession, Renaissance, Scientific Revolution, Enlightenment, Protestant Reformation, Colonization of the Americas, French Revolution.

DISCRIPTION
The Islamic Sultanate refers to a period in history characterized by the rule of Muslim sultans or monarchs over vast territories, predominantly in the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Asia and Europe. Emerging after the death of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Islamic sultanates became a prominent political and military force during the medieval era.
These sultanates played a crucial role in shaping the cultural, economic, and political landscape of the regions they governed. They established sophisticated administrative systems, fostered intellectual and artistic advancements, and facilitated trade and commerce along the Silk Road and other trade routes.
Prominent Islamic sultanates include the Umayyad Caliphate, Abbasid Caliphate, Ayyubid Sultanate, Seljuk Sultanate, Mamluk Sultanate, and Ottoman Empire. Each sultanate had its unique characteristics, contributions, and challenges, but collectively they contributed to the expansion and dissemination of Islamic civilization.
The decline of Islamic sultanates began in the early modern period due to internal conflicts, external invasions, colonial expansion, and socio-political changes. However, their legacies continue to influence the modern world, particularly in the realms of architecture, art, law, and governance.
Understanding the history of Islamic sultanates provides valuable insights into the diverse and rich tapestry of Islamic civilization, its achievements, complexities, and enduring impact on global history and culture.
