Saba has a land area of 13 square kilometres (5.0sqmi). As of January 2013, the population was 1,991 inhabitants, with a population density of 150 inhabitants per square kilometre (390/sqmi). Its towns and major settlements are The Bottom (the capital), Windwardside, Hell's Gate and St. Johns.
Etymology
The origin of the name "Saba" is often believed to be derived from the Arawak Indian word for "rock," which was "siba."
History
Christopher Columbus is said to have sighted the island on 13 November 1493. He did not land, being deterred by the island's perilous rocky shores. In 1632, a group of shipwrecked Englishmen landed upon Saba. They stated they found the island uninhabited when they were rescued. There has been clear evidence found indicating that Caribs and Arawak Indians have been on the island.
According to the character's fictional history, Tommy is a legend among the Power Rangers community and is considered to be the greatest Power Ranger of all time, having been five different Power Rangers — the Green Ranger, the White Ranger, Zeo Ranger V–Red, the Red Turbo Ranger, and the Dino Thunder Black Ranger — and a part of four Ranger teams over the years. In addition, Tommy is a lifelong practitioner of the martial arts; during the first season of Power Rangers, he was referred to as having a third-degree black belt in karate. By Power Rangers Dino Thunder, he is a 6th degree black belt. ("Return of the Ranger", Power Rangers Dino Thunder - Collision Course DVD)

Sabrina Carpenter: Tiny Desk Concert
Ashley Pointer | December 20, 2024
When I greeted Sabrina Carpenter at NPR HQ for her Tiny Desk debut, her charm was immediately disarming. Bubbling with excitement, she extended her hand, introduced herself and complimented my outfit with genuine warmth. You’d think this was one of her first “big time” gigs, not a regular performance for a pop veteran, having sold out arenas across the country touring her now six time Grammy-nominated sixth album, Short n’ Sweet. That humility made me love her even more.

You’d think this was one of her first “big time” gigs, not a regular performance for a pop veteran, having sold out arenas across the country touring her now six time Grammy-nominated sixth album, Short n’ Sweet. That humility made me love her even more.
But Carpenter delivers far more than just charm in this performance. Backed by her band, complimented with pedal steel and a string quartet, she reimagines her biggest hits from Short n’ Sweet, while sharing the stories in between songs of how these tracks came to life. Opening with “Taste,” strings serve up some playful pizzicato, before Carpenter and her band move into a lush, soulful version “Bed Chem.” Then everyone swaps their electric instruments for acoustic to perform “Please Please Please” and “Slim Pickins.” Finally, Carpenter closes with the viral favorite “Juno,” cheekily asking the audience, “Have you ever tried this one?” before sweeping her rear end across the windchimes, earning a laugh from the room.
“When I first started [writing songs] it was kinda in a room like this — a room with very dry walls and there’s no reverb,” Carpenter reflects at the top of her performance. “But there’s something so real and special.” That authenticity set the tone for a memorable session with one of 2024’s biggest breakout superstars.

The preparations were done in silence, with only the occasional whispered conversation breaking the stillness of the moment.
As they arrived at the mourning ceremony, the grief became even more palpable. The sight of the family's sorrowful faces was heart-wrenching, and their pain could be felt by everyone present. In nomadic culture, mourning is a shared experience where family, friends, and community members come together to offer emotional support and solidarity. Tears flowed freely as loved ones embraced one another, offering words of comfort and prayers for the departed. Fariba’s sadness was clear to see, but like a true example of nomadic resilience, she found the strength to stand beside her family. Despite the emotional weight, the presence of family members reminded everyone that, even in moments of grief, no one is truly alone. The unity displayed during mourning is one of the most profound aspects of Zagros nomadic life, reflecting the deep bonds that hold the nomadic family together through both joy and sorrow.

The sky will darken, as if it were dawn or dusk,” according to NASA.gov. San SabaCounty will be in the path. The next time San Saba will see this event will be in 375 years! It truly is a once-in-alifetime event!.
