Downtown Dubai is a vibrant district in the heart of the city known for its iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, and the Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping centers globally. It's a popular destination for tourists and residents alike, offering a blend of luxury living, entertainment, dining, and cultural experiences.
Burj Khalifa: The centerpiece of Downtown Dubai is the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. It stands at 828 meters (2,717 feet) and offers stunning views of the city from its observation decks.
The Dubai Mall: Adjacent to the Burj Khalifa is The Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping malls globally. It features over 1,200 shops, including high-end international brands, as well as entertainment options like an indoor ice rink, an aquarium, and a cinema.
The Dubai Fountain: Situated outside the Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountain is a captivating water and light show set on the artificial lake at the base of the tower. The fountain is synchronized to music and is particularly spectacular in the evenings.
Downtown Boulevard: This bustling boulevard runs through the center of Downtown Dubai, lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants. It's a popular spot for strolling and enjoying the city atmosphere.
Souk Al Bahar: A traditional Arabian marketplace located near The Dubai Mall, Souk Al Bahar offers a mix of shops, restaurants, and cafes. It provides a more traditional and cultural contrast to the modern surroundings.

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - Welcome to Dubai, UAE, and today we’re going on an ultimate 48 hour food tour of Dubai. We’ll be eating traditional Emirati food, Iranian, Pakistani, Indian, and local street food fast food. It’s going to be an amazing two days of eating our way through Dubai and I can’t wait to share it all with you now!
Here are all the places we ate:
Al Jawareh Traditional Restaurant (https://goo.gl/maps/yar176XFEuGBnrQJA) - This restaurant specializes in traditional Emirati food, a little outside of the center of the city. I especially love the omelet with tomato and chabab bread that you can eat with cheese and date syrup.
Al Fareej Restaurant (https://goo.gl/maps/Ane6nRYdmBKuyK397) - Next up, Iraian food and a massive kebab tray that included a big variety. Of course kebab koobideh is the king of all kebabs and it was delicious.
Mumbai Express Restaurant and Cafe (https://goo.gl/maps/BEtXCkNNxkfvb1WR9) - Next up we ate at Mumbai Express, an Indian restaurant serving mainly Mumbai snacks, chaats, and light meals. Their pav bhaji was fantastic.
Ravi Restaurant (https://goo.gl/maps/AzFd8vizLBTY399j8) - One of the meals of this entire Dubai food tour was at Ravi Restaurant that’s probably the most well known Pakistani food in all of Dubai. Their food is outstanding, including the variety of grilled meats and especially their mutton Peshawari.
Al Ijaza Cafeteria (https://goo.gl/maps/bQfjHy42qgkGA9Pa6) - Next up, Al Ijaza Cafeteria which is one of the most family street food / fast food spots in Dubai. They have a humorous and creative menu highlights sandwiches and grilled meats with a huge selection of milkshakes and fruit shakes.
Sonara Camp (https://goo.gl/maps/mLdfany8byVUrzdc6) - Finally to complete this ultimate Dubai food tour, we headed out to the desert to the luxurious Sonara Camp. There was entertainment and food and a great family and special meal experience.
Again, a huge thank you to Visit Dubai for sponsoring my trip to Dubai and for filming and producing this video.

5 Minutes in Dubai Footage.
This video you see Dubai
The history of human settlement in the area now defined by the United Arab Emirates is rich and complex, and points to extensive trading links between the civilisations of the Indus Valley and Mesopotamia, but also as far afield as the Levant.[23] Archaeological finds in the emirate of Dubai, particularly at Al-Ashoosh, Al Sufouh and the notably rich trove from Saruq Al Hadid[24] show settlement through the Ubaid and Hafit periods, the Umm Al Nar and Wadi Suq periods and the three Iron Ages in the UAE. The area was known to the Sumerians as Magan, and was a source for metallic goods, notably copper and bronze.[25]
The area was covered with sand about 5,000 years ago as the coast retreated inland, becoming part of the city's present coastline.[26] Pre-Islamic ceram...

Nakheel Dubai Waterfront Presentation
Nakheel's Presentation of Dubai Waterfront in 2006
The Dubai Waterfront (now known as Waterfront) was expected to become the largest waterfront[disambiguation needed] and largest man-made development in the world. The project is a conglomeration of canals and artificial archipelago; it would occupy the last remaining Persian Gulf coastline of Dubai, the most populous emirate of the United Arab Emirates. It was planned to consist of a series of zones with mixed use including commercial, residential, resort, and amenity areas. The vision of the project is "to create a world-class destination for residents, visitors and businesses in the world's fastest growing city".

The Burj Al Arab (Arabic: برج العرب, Tower of the Arabs) is a luxury hotel located in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[9] Managed by Jumeirah hotel group, it is one of the tallest hotels in the world, although 39% of its total height is made up of non-occupiable space.[10][11][12] Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island that is 280 m (920 ft) from Jumeirah Beach and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. The shape of the structure is designed to resemble the sail of a ship. It has a helipad near the roof, at a height of 210 m (689 ft) above ground.

Mandala Art series : Episode 1(disambiguation)
In New Age, the mandala is a diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a time-microcosm of the universe, but it originally meant to represent wholeness and a model for the organizational structure of life itself, a cosmic diagram that shows the relation to the infinite and the world that extends beyond and within minds and bodies.

Dubai is a global city and business hub of the Middle East.[9] It is also a major global transport hub for passengers and cargo.[10]Oil revenue helped accelerate the development of the city, which was already a major mercantile hub, but Dubai's oil reserves are limited and production levels are low: today, less than 5% of the emirate's revenue comes from oil.[11] A growing centre for regional and international trade since the early 20th century, Dubai's economy today relies on revenues from trade, tourism, aviation, real estate, and financial services.[12][13][14][15]
Dubai has attracted world attention through large construction projects and sports events, in particular the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. As of 2012, Dubai was the most expensive city in the Middle East.[16][17] In 2014, Dubai's hotel rooms were rated as the second most expensive in the world.[18][19]
Etymology
Many theories have been proposed as to the origin of the word "Dubai". One theory suggests the word was used to describe the souq, which was similar to the souq in Ba.[20]An Arabic proverb says "Daba Dubai" (Arabic: دبا دبي), meaning "They came with a lot of money."[21] According to Fedel Handhal, a scholar on the UAE's history and culture, the word Dubai may have come from the word daba (Arabic: دبا) (a past tense derivative of yadub (Arabic: يدب), which means "to creep"), referring to the slow flow of Dubai Creekinland. The poet and scholar Ahmad Mohammad Obaid traces it to the same word, but to its alternative meaning of "baby locust" (Arabic: جراد) due to the abundant nature of locusts in the area before settlement.[22]

The area was covered with sand about 5,000 years ago as the coast retreated inland, becoming part of the city's present coastline.[26][27] Pre-Islamic ceramics have been found from the 3rd and 4th centuries.[28]Prior to the introduction of Islam to the area, the people in this region worshiped Bajir (or Bajar).[28] After the spread of Islam in the region, the Umayyad Caliph of the eastern Islamic world invaded south-east Arabia and drove out the Sassanians. Excavations by the Dubai Museum in the region of Al-Jumayra(Jumeirah) found several artefacts from the Umayyad period.[29]
The earliest recorded mention of Dubai is in 1095 in the Book of Geography by the Andalusian-Arab geographer Abu Abdullah al-Bakri.[citation needed] The Venetian pearl merchant Gasparo Balbi visited the area in 1580 and mentioned Dubai (Dibei) for its pearling industry.[29]

Located in the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula on the coast of the Persian Gulf, Dubai aims to be the business hub of Western Asia.[11] It is also a major global transport hub for passengers and cargo.[12] Oil revenue helped accelerate the development of the city, which was already a major mercantile hub. A centre for regional and international trade since the early 20th century, Dubai's economy relies on revenues from trade, tourism, aviation, real estate, and financial services.[13][14][15][16] Oil production contributed less than 1 percent of the emirate's GDP in 2018.[17] According to government data, the population of Dubai is estimated at around 3,400,800 as of 8 September 2020.[18][19]
Establishment of modern Dubai Edit
Al Fahidi fort in the 1950s
Dubai is thought to have been established as a fishing village in the early 18th century[29] and was, by 1822, a town of some 700–800 members of the Bani Yas tribe and subject to the rule of Sheikh Tahnun bin Shakhbut of Abu Dhabi.[30]
In 1833, following tribal feuding, members of the Al Bu Falasah tribe seceded from Abu Dhabi and established themselves in Dubai. The exodus from Abu Dhabi was led by Obeid bin Saeed and Maktoum bin Butti, who became joint leaders of Dubai until Ubaid died in 1836, leaving Maktum to establish the Maktoum dynasty.[29]
Dubai signed the General Maritime Treaty of 1820 with the British government along with other Trucial States, following the British campaign in 1819 against the Ras Al Khaimah. This led to the 1853 Perpetual Maritime Truce. Dubai also – like its neighbours on the Trucial Coast – entered into an exclusivity agreement in which the United Kingdom took responsibility for the emirate's security in
Al Fahidi Fort, built-in 1787, houses the Dubai Museum
In 1841, a smallpox epidemic broke out in the Bur Dubai locality, forcing residents to relocate east to Deira.[31] In 1896, fire broke out in Dubai, a disastrous occurrence in a town where many family homes were still constructed from barasti – palm fronds. The conflagration consumed half the houses of Bur Dubai, while the district of Deira was said to have been totally destroyed. The following year, more fires broke out. A female slave was caught in the act of starting one such blaze and was subsequently put to death

The area was covered with sand about 5,000 years ago as the coast retreated inland, becoming part of the city's present coastline.[26] Pre-Islamic ceramics have been found from the 3rd and 4th centuries.[27] Prior to the introduction of Islam to the area, the people in this region worshiped Bajir (or Bajar).[27] After the spread of Islam in the region, the Umayyad Caliph of the eastern Islamic world invaded south-east Arabia and drove out the Sassanians. Excavations by the Dubai Museum in the region of Al-Jumayra (Jumeirah) found several artefacts from the Umayyad period.[28]
An early mention of Dubai is in 1095 in the Book of Geography by the Andalusian-Arab geographer Abu Abdullah al-Bakri.[citation needed] The Venetian pearl merchant Gasparo Balbi visited the area in 1580 and mentioned Dubai (Dibei) for its pearling industry.[28]Open main menu

Dubai (/duːˈbaɪ/ doo-BY; Arabic: دبي, romanized: Dubayy [dʊˈbajj], Gulf Arabic pronunciation: [dəˈbaj]) is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai.[5][6][7] Established in the 18th century as a small fishing village, the city grew rapidly in the early 21st century into a cosmopolitan metropolis with a focus on tourism and hospitality. Dubai is one of the world's most popular tourist destinations[8] with the second most five-star hotels in the world,[9] and the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa.[10]

Dubai is a global city and business hub of the Middle East.[9] It is also a major global transport hub for passengers and cargo.[10] Oil revenue helped accelerate the development of the city, which was already a major mercantile hub, but Dubai's oil reserves are limited and production levels are low: today, less than 5% of the emirate's revenue comes from oil.[11] A growing centre for regional and international trade since the early 20th century, Dubai's economy today relies on revenues from trade, tourism, aviation, real estate, and financial services.[12][13][14][15]

International Space Station
Largest Modular space station in low Earth orbit
"ISS" redirects here. For other uses, see ISS (disambiguation).
The International Space Station (ISS) is the largest modular space station currently in low Earth orbit. It is a multinational collaborative project involving five participating space agencies: NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and CSA (Canada). The ownership and use of the space station is established by intergovernmental treaties and agreements. The station serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which scientific research is conducted in astrobiology, astronomy, meteorology, physics, and other fields. The ISS is suited for testing the spacecraft systems and equipment required for possible future long-duration missions to the Moon and Mars.
Quick Facts Station statistics, COSPAR ID ...
The ISS programme evolved from the Space Station Freedom, a 1984 American proposal to construct a permanently crewed Earth-orbiting station, and the contemporaneous Soviet/Russian Mir-2 proposal from 1976 with similar aims. The ISS is the ninth space station to be inhabited by crews, following the Soviet and later Russian Salyut, Almaz, and Mir stations and the American Skylab. It is the largest artificial object in space and the largest satellite in low Earth orbit, regularly visible to the naked eye from Earth's surface. It maintains an orbit with an average altitude of 400 kilometres (250 mi) by means of reboost manoeuvres using the engines of the Zvezda Service Module or visiting spacecraft. The ISS circles the Earth in roughly 93 minutes, completing 15.5 orbits per day.
The station is divided into two sections: the Russian Orbital Segment (ROS) is operated by Russia, while the United States Orbital Segment (USOS) is run by the United States as well as by the other states. The Russian segment includes six modules. The US segment includes ten modules, whose support services are distributed 76.6% for NASA, 12.8% for JAXA, 8.3% for ESA and 2.3% for CSA.
Roscosmos had previously endorsed the continued operation of ROS through 2024, having proposed using elements of the segment to construct a new Russian space station called OPSEK. However, continued cooperation has been rendered uncertain by the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine and subsequent international sanctions on Russia, who theoretically, may lower, redirect, or cut funding from their side of the space station due to the sanctions set on them.
The first ISS component was launched in 1998, and the first long-term residents arrived on 2 November 2000 after being launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on 31 October 2000. The station has since been continuously occupied for 22 years and 3 days, the longest continuous human presence in low Earth orbit, having surpassed the previous record of 9 years and 357 days held by the Mir space station. The latest major pressurised module, Nauka, was fitted in 2021, a little over ten years after the previous major addition, Leonardo in 2011. Development and assembly of the station continues, with an experimental inflatable space habitat added in 2016, and several major new Russian elements scheduled for launch starting in 2021. In January 2022, the station's operation authorization was extended to 2030, with funding secured within the United States through that year. There have been calls to privatize ISS operations after that point to pursue future Moon and Mars missions, with former NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine stating: "given our current budget constraints, if we want to go to the moon and we want to go to Mars, we need to commercialize low Earth orbit and go on to the next step."
The ISS consists of pressurised habitation modules, structural trusses, photovoltaic solar arrays, thermal radiators, docking ports, experiment bays and robotic arms. Major ISS modules have been launched by Russian Proton and Soyuz rockets and US Space Shuttles. The station is serviced by a variety of visiting spacecraft: the Russian Soyuz and Progress, the SpaceX Dragon 2, and the Northrop Grumman Space Systems Cygnus, and formerly the European Automated Transfer Vehicle , the Japanese H-II Transfer Vehicle, and SpaceX Dragon 1. The Dragon spacecraft allows the return of pressurised cargo to Earth, which is used, for example, to repatriate scientific experiments for further analysis. As of April 2022, 251 astronauts, cosmonauts, and space tourists from 20 different nations have visited the space station, many of them multiple times.
In the early 1980s, NASA planned to launch a modular space station called Freedom as a counterpart to the Soviet Salyut and Mir space stations. In 1984 the ESA was invited to participate in Space Station Freedom, and the ESA approved the Columbus laboratory by 1987. The Japanese Experiment Module (JEM), or Kibō, was announced in 1985, as part of the Freedom space station in response to a NASA request in 1982.

Dubai (/duːˈbaɪ/, doo-BY; Arabic: دبي, romanized: Dubayy, IPA: [dʊˈbajj], Gulf Arabic pronunciation: [dəˈbaj]) is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai.[4][5][6] Established in the 18th century as a small fishing village, the city grew rapidly in the early 21st century with a focus on tourism and hospitality,[7] having the second most five-star hotels in the world,[8] and the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa.[9]
In the eastern Arabian Peninsula on the coast of the Persian Gulf,[10] it is also a major global transport hub for passengers and cargo.[11] Oil revenue helped accelerate the development of the city, which was already a major mercantile hub. A centre for regional and international trade since the early 20th century, Dubai's economy relies on revenues from trade, tourism, aviation, real estate, and financial services.[12][13][14][15] Oil production contributed less than 1 percent of the emirate's GDP in 2018.[16] The city has a population of around 3.4 million (as of 2021).[17]

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

In New Age, the mandala is a diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a time-microcosm of the universe, but it originally meant to represent wholeness and a model for the organizational structure of life itself, a cosmic diagram that shows the relation to the infinite and the world that extends beyond and within minds and bodies.
