Lisa Stansfield (born 11 April 1966) is an English singer, songwriter and actress. Her career began in 1980 when she won the singing competition Search for a Star. After appearances in various television shows and releasing her first singles, Stansfield, Ian Devaney and Andy Morris formed Blue Zone in 1984. The band released several singles and one album, but after the success of "People Hold On" in 1989, on which Stansfield was featured, they focused on her solo career.
Stansfield's first solo album, Affection (1989), and its worldwide chart-topping lead single, "All Around the World", were major breakthroughs in her career. She was nominated for two Grammy Awards and Affection is currently her best-selling album. In the following years, Stansfield released Real Love (1991), So Natural (1993) and Lisa Stansfield (1997). In 1999, she appeared in her first film, Swing, and also recorded the soundtrack for it. Her next albums included Face Up (2001), Biography: The Greatest Hits (2003) and The Moment (2004). After that, Stansfield took a break from music and focused on her film career. In 2008, she starred in The Edge of Love and in 2014 she appeared in Northern Soul.
Lisa Stansfield is the fourth album by British singer Lisa Stansfield, released by Arista Records on 21 March 1997. It was her first new studio album since 1993's So Natural. Stansfield co-wrote most songs for the album with her husband Ian Devaney. The tracks were produced by Devaney and Peter Mokran. Lisa Stansfield garnered favourable reviews from music critics and was commercially successful reaching number two in the United Kingdom and receiving Gold certification. In the United States, it spawned four number-one singles on the Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs. Lisa Stansfield was re-released as a deluxe 2CD + DVD set in the United Kingdom on 10 November 2014 and in Europe on 21 November 2014.
Background
Lisa Stansfield released her eponymous album in March 1997, almost four years after her previous studio album, So Natural. It does not feature contribution from Andy Morris, who worked on Stansfield's previous releases. Between So Natural and Lisa Stansfield, she recorded and released two singles from the 1994 soundtracks: "Make It Right" from Beverly Hills 90210: The College Years and "Dream Away" (duet with Babyface) from The Pagemaster.
The song received positive reviews from music critics. "Dream Away" was released as a single in the United States on 7 November 1994 and reached number nine on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles and number eighty on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. "Dream Away" was also issued in selected European countries and Australia, and on 21 January 1995 it was released in Japan. The song was remixed by Dave Way, Paul Waller and Ollie Marland. The music video, directed by Randee St. Nicholas, featured Babyface, Stansfield and fragments from the film. In 2003, "Dream Away" was included on the remastered edition of Stansfield's album, So Natural.
Stansfield is a village and civil parish in the St Edmundsbury district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located seven miles south-west of Bury St Edmunds, in 2011 its population was 221. The village has an Anglican church dedicated to All Saints.
In 1870, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Stansfield as
History
In Old English, Stansfield would have been interpreted as ‘Stan’s open land’, referring to someone’s unencumbered and arable land in which they owned at the time.
Earliest History of Stansfield dates back to 1066 in the Domesday Book, where the value to the Lord was £3.50. The Lords of Stansfield in 1066 were Crawa, Edric Spud and Wulffled.
In 1831, the main source of industry in Stansfield was Agricultural labourers, followed by Retail & Handicrafts. The least common trade was Capitalists & Professionals. Labourers and servants occupied 81 jobs in 1831, 21 as middling sorts and 10 as employers and professionals.

Bass Armstrong(バース・アームストロング,Bāsu Āmusutorongu) is a retired professional wrestler and Tina's overprotective father. He is also the widower of Alicia Armstrong, who died of a disease when Tina was only six years old. He disapproves of Tina's aspirations of wanting to be a model (DOA2), a Hollywood actress (DOA3) and a rock star (DOA4). Consequently, he enters the DOA tournaments to put an end to her fame-seeking, only to fail at each attempt. In the fourth tournament, it is revealed that he intends to win so he would have enough money to enter the "Hyper Battle Grand Prix", which he then loses after seeing Tina's picture on a billboard and crashes into it after losing control of his bike. Like Tina in the English versions of the game, he, too, speaks with a Southern accent.

(l. stansfield/i. devaney/a. morris) Spoken: Don't worry about me, baby Whenever you walk by me, I can here you breath I can smell the love you made when you were gone Darlin' don't deny it, or make excuses I've heard too many lies, to know that I'm not wrong Baby don't insult me I'm too tired to let it hurt me Baby just believe me And give me back my key, and set me free Chorus: Keep you're body to yourself, or give it to somebody else You're poison Can't you you see I'm far to tough to let it hurt I've had enough of your poison Don't lay your hands upon me Just crawl back where you came from I shutter at the thought of you touching me You've stained the love I gave you Baby, not for long So much I could have given you But now you'll never know Baby don't insult me I'm too tired to let it hurt me Baby just believe me And give me back my key, and set me free Chorus Got bad habits on your mind, you're underhanded I'm not blind to your poison Spoken: Don't make me laugh, you've told so many lies And of all the lies you told me, baby, you're the biggest You think you've hurt me I'm far too strong to let it get to me Can't you see that I'm not crying anymore So just get off my back, and leave me alone
