The actual origin of Dos came about in the fall of 1985 when Watt and Kira, who were already dating, began improvising two-bass jams in their free time, sometimes recording these results into Watt's four-track recording machine.
The sudden death of Minutemen guitarist and lead singer D. Boon in a van accident on December 22, 1985, led to the end of the Minutemen and left Watt deeply depressed. Dos (English: Two) is the title of the second album by Colombian Pop and Vallenato singer, Fanny Lu. The album was released in Colombia on December 8, 2008, and in the United States and Puerto Rico the following week. In Colombia, Dos went straight to number one in the album charts in its debut week. The album features the lead single and the official song of the year in Colombia, "Tú No Eres Para Mi" (You Are Not For Me).
Album information
The album was greeted with huge anticipation following the success of the lead single "Tú No Eres Para Mi". The hit was number one on Colombian radio for eleven weeks. As well as this, there were high expectations considering the success of Fanny's first album, Lágrimas Cálidas (English: "Warm Tears"), which spent nine weeks at number one in Colombia. Fanny Lu produced the album and co-wrote many of the tracks, most notably "Un Minuto Más" (English: "One More Minute"), a duet with Noel Schajris. The song is a tribute to her late father who was murdered. Weeks before the release of the album, Fanny stated that "We were looking for a fusion of sounds. I didn't limit myself. I gave myself the luxury of exploring, because it was important not to repeat what I'd done. For example, many times, instead of accordions, we experimented with winds. This album is like a walk along all those genres I love, and all the songs have their own palate and color."
Dos was produced by Humberto Gatica and features songs written by Gogo Muñoz, Alberto Plaza, Vilma Planas, Alvaro Torres, Juan Carlos Duque and by the performer herself. Hernández wrote the songs "Herida" and "Que No". The album singles produced several international hits that spent several weeks at number one of the rankings in the continent. This album also marked a record in the Latin Pop Albums in the United States by staying at number-one for 18 consecutive weeks.
Rede Bandeirantes was founded on May 13, 1967, by João Saad, nephew of São Paulo state governor Ademar de Barros and owner of Rádio Bandeirantes. In 1969 the main TV building suffered a massive fire, which forced Saad to replace his broadcasting equipment with new ones. By 1972, TV Bandeirantes was the first Brazilian television network to fully broadcast in color, the same year that Rede Globo did the same. Later in the 1970s Bandeirantes became a national broadcasting network, helped partly by the hit Saturday afternoon program Clube do Bolinha, the Japan-theme program Japan Pop Show and a 2nd wave of drama programs which started in 1979.
Walter Clark took over the network in 1982 and remodeled the station's programming after Rede Globo, while the network's present logo debuted that same year, with Cyro Del Nero as its designer, the very logo was also shown nationwide given the fact that it - together with Rede Globo - had also at the same time began nationwide satellite broadcasting as well. This was also the same year that the network began a 18-year tradition of broadcasting the biannual electoral debates in the local levels.
27 is an American rock band from Cambridge, Massachusetts. 27 was formed by Maria Christopher, formerly of Dirt Merchants, and Ayal Naor in 1997. 27 is commonly categorized as a rock or indie rock band, but the genres lo-fi and emo have occasionally been used to describe them.
27 has toured extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Japan. In the Czech Republic, 27 opened for Robert Plant.
27 shares a relatively close relationship with the band Isis. Bryant Clifford Meyer, of Isis, co-wrote the 27 song "1001 Gods," Aaron Turner, of Isis, contributed guitars and vocals to the song "April," and Jeff Caxide, of Isis, contributed to the song "Try." Maria Christopher and Ayal Naor, of 27, contributed to the songs "Weight," "Carry," and "The Beginning and the End" which appeared on the Isis album Oceanic. Of these, the song "Weight" was featured on the television show Friday Night Lights in 2007. 27 also released an album on Hydra Head Records, which is owned by Aaron Turner of Isis.

Dos (from the Spanish word for "two") is an American rock group composed of Mike Watt and Kira Roessler, who both sing and play bass guitar. Critic Greg Prato describes their unusual instrumentation as "a haunting yet intriguing and original sound."
Watt and Roessler met not long after Roessler replaced Chuck Dukowski as the bassist of Black Flag in 1983.
Kira had parted company with Black Flag not long beforehand and moved to New Haven, Connecticut to attend Yale University. Watt considered abandoning music altogether. But intending to keep him playing after Boon's death, Kira and Watt began collaborating via four-track cassettes sent back and forth in the mail. The activity led to Kira flying back to California for the formal forming of Dos in September 1986.
One of their most anticipated shows is in Ahmedabad, and ahead of the show, the band was issued a notice about the dos and don'ts. ...Fabs are eagerly looking forward to the band being back in the country after years.
The next big boy band over in Texas...sort of. They're actually a bunch of goats who have some very boy band-y hairdos. In fact, you could definitely say their 'dos were giving people Backstreet Boy vibes.
“And that’s what I think the Bronx needs more of too — access ... Their first podcast, “Desus vs ... Rep ... I just love, like Dos Flacos, like Planta Industrial. This is all coming out of the Bronx, like yo, a pop-punk band coming out of the Bronx? Like, what?!.
An Oasis-mad bride recreated one of the bands most iconic record covers on her big day as guests got to listen to tracks of the Manchester rock group on repeat in the background ... But can you guess where they chose to say their I dos?.
All except Cole formerly belonged to the psych-rock band Dos En Uno, which released the album Jaguar in 2022, mixed and mastered (like Monuments) by producer Jack Endino (Soundgarden, Nirvana).
The 56-year-old Balois, who had a bounty of P150,000 for his capture, was arrested for rebellion, murder, frustrated murder, unlawful possession of explosives, and robbery-in-band.
The band's sophmore album was released in 1982 and features one of the most iconic album covers of all time; an illustrated image of a smiling woman ... Commenting from her wine company Dos Lagos' Instagram account, she wrote.
June 7 will include live music from Southern rock and blues band Deja Blue, lawn games and the food trucks Dos Gringos Cabana, Newman's BBQ, Some Like It Tot, Abu Omar Halal and HTeaO.
Metal/mariachi band Metalachi will perform on June 6 at Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown... Biographical information about the band is scarce and often reads like creative nonfiction ... The band was also featured in an AT&T commercial.
There will be multiple opportunities to get smoky this weekend ... On opening night, Jason Momoa will guest bartend with his own Meili Vodka and will perform with his band ÖOF TATATÁ. Also, expect an appearance from Aaron Paul and his Dos Hombres Mezcal ... .
