We will discuss the difference between delta y and dy. Delta y is the difference between y-value value and the original y-value. But dy is the differential and it's an approximated difference between the y-values.

Newton's Infinitesimal Calculus (6): More Differential Equations and Series for e^x
In this video, we will solve some more differential equations, where a derivative is being set equal to something involving both y's and x's. Much of what we are solving goes under the heading of first-order linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Normally, one solves such an equation through integrating factors but we will see that a power series often works just as well to find the general solution. Along the way, we will derive the power series for the function which is invariant under taking a derivative, the exponential function, e^x.
