Department of Tourism: TourISM WoRCS
The Department of Tourism (DOT) develops and promotes a socially-responsible tourism industry. Through the TourISM WoRCS program, it strives to make the Philippines a safe and wholesome tourist destination through strong collaboration between law enforcers and tourism operators and frontliners, and by educating both tourists and industry stakeholders on combatting violence and harassment.
As it creates a safe space for tourists and tourism communities, especially women and children, the DOT’s TourISM WoRCS also empowers women to chase their dreams by providing them opportunities in the tourism industry.

History
Noong 1956, ang Board of Travel and Tourist Industry ay nilikha ng Kongreso Bilang itinakda sa Integrated Reorganization Plan noong 1972 na pinahintulutan bilang batas sa ilalim ng Presidential Decree No. 2, as amended, the Department of Trade and Tourism was established, reorganizing the then Department of Commerce and Industry.
In 1998, the Department of Tourism assumed a prominent role in culmination of centennial celebration of the country's independence from the Spanish Empire in 1898.
