Demosthenes' method (stones) in The King's Speech (2010)
The film The King's Speech (2010) depicts the main character, the future King George VI, who had a stammer, being taught to improve his diction by an old method: the one described in Antiquity as used by Demosthenes, the most famous Greek orator and, together with Cicero, the most famous ancient orator.
Demosthenes was said to have used stones or pebbles in the way depicted in this film. Here it is as Plutach narrated it:

Demsosthenes] adopted the exercises which I shall describe, as Demetrius the Phalerian tells us, who says he heard about them from Demosthenes himself, now grown old. Demosthenes Quotes | Greatest Ancient Greek Orator | Wisdom That Can Save You from Yourself
Demosthenes quotes the greatest ancient greek orator wisdom that can save you from yourself. The more I go into ancient quotes from Greece the more I realize that simplicity is one of the highest forms of wisdom there is which we can attain. Seems that all the useful information in today's words is becoming extremely over-complicated. Which is either for a specific packaging to sell or to make attaining that wisdom extremely difficult in today's fast-paced environment where people don't really stop to think.

“For his bodily deficiencies he [sc. Demsosthenes] adopted the exercises which I shall describe, as Demetrius the Phalerian tells us, who says he heard about them from Demosthenes himself, now grown old. The indistinctness and lisping in his speech he used to correct and drive away by taking pebbles in his mouth and then reciting speeches.” (Plutarch, Parallel Lives. Demosthenes 11.1).

https://wn.com/Demosthenes_Quotes_|_Greatest_Ancient_Greek_Orator_|_Wisdom_That_Can_Save_You_From_Yourself
Stay Strong my Freinds! don't overcomplicate, break it down and use it!
