Demi (born Charlotte Dumaresq Hunt, September 2, 1942) is an award-winning children’s book author and illustrator. During her career she has published over 300 titles.

Early life and education
Demi was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is the great-grand daughter of the American painter William Morris Hunt, and the great-grand niece of architect Richard Morris Hunt. Demi earned her nickname as a young child when her father started calling her "demi" because she was half the size of her sister.
The Empty Pot was selected by former First Lady Barbara Bush in 1990 as one of the books to be read on the ABC Radio Network Program Mrs. Bush's Story Time. Based on a 2007 online poll, the National Education Association named The Empty Pot one of its "Teachers' Top 100 Books for Children."Gandhi was awarded the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award, while Muhammad was named a New York Times Best Illustrated Book.
Demi is a prefix meaning "half", loaned from French; for example, demi frere which means "half brother" or demi soeur which means "half sister". Demi-glace is made by simmering and reducing by half a mixture of half brown stock and half espagnole sauce.
Ödemiş is a district of İzmir Province of Turkey, as well as the name of its central town (urban population 75,577 as of 2012), located 113km southeast of the city of İzmir.
About 4 km north of Ödemiş town are the ruins of Hypaepa. The historical importance of the region is also reflected by the small town of Birgi, east of Ödemiş, which was the capital of the Anatolian Turkish Beylik of Aydın and it has outstanding examples of Seljük and Ottoman architecture. Birgi has been on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list since 1994, and points of interest here include Çakırağa Mansion, İmam-i Birgivi Medrese and Sultanşah Mausoleum.
Ödemiş is famous for its potatoes, which has the best quality in Turkey, as well as its "Ödemiş Kebab". The city is the biggest potato grower of Turkey with its annual 350.000 tons of potato production.
Demi is the fourth studio album by American singer Demi Lovato. It was released on May 10, 2013, by Hollywood Records. Looking to transition from her self-described "generic" third album Unbroken (2011), Lovato wanted to make her fourth album to "have songs that excited her". The album incorporates pop with elements of synthpop, and bubblegum pop. Second single "Made in the USA" peaked at number 80, while later singles "Neon Lights" and "Really Don't Care" both reached the top 40 peaking at 36 and 26.
