She was one of five children, although her baby brother died of pneumonia in 1932, aged 15 days, and her elder sister, Marise, died in 1934, aged eight, from a meningitis-like illness. Other than English, she has Irish, Scottish, Italian and Sephardic Jewish descent from Oran, Algeria. On her maternal grandmother's side June is descended from the Jewish bare knuckle boxerIsaac Bitton. She was educated at St John's Church of England school in Ipswich and then won a scholarship to Ipswich High School where she passed the school certificate examinations. The Brown Book is a document created by the Manitoba government containing suggested fines for various offences against the Acts of the government, including the Highway Traffic Act.
For example, the Brown Book lists the following suggested fines:
Death in June are a neofolk group led by Englishfolk musician Douglas Pearce, better known as Douglas P. The band was originally formed in Britain in 1981 as a trio, but after the other members left in 1984 and 1985 to work on other projects, the group became the work of Douglas P. and various collaborators. Douglas P. now lives in Australia.
Over the band's three decades of existence, they have made numerous shifts in style and presentation, resulting in an overall shift from initial post-punk and Industrial Records influence to a more acoustic and folk music-oriented approach. They are sometimes considered controversial (largely due to usage of themes and imagery relating to Nazi Germany). Douglas P.'s influence was instrumental in sparking neofolk, of which his music has subsequently become a part.

One is the Axis Anonymous in glory Love is now empty And incomplete Strike at the heart of hope Where panic stirs the will We hear Dog's blessing This sleepless night's torture We pray for it's ending We push for the slaughter Of a broken faith missing Of a passing love dying We start afresh For love and for death One is the Axis Anonymous in glory Love is now empty Forever, incomplete
