Christopher Alan "Chris" Brown (born 11 December 1984) is an English footballer, who currently plays for Blackburn Rovers as a forward.
Playing career
Sunderland
Born in Doncaster, Brown was a prolific goalscorer at school and youth level, Brown rose through the youth ranks at the team he supported as a boy, Sunderland, making his debut for the under-19 team at the age of just 15. However, Brown suffered a setback in 2002 when he damaged his cruciate ligament whilst playing for the reserve side, forcing him to miss the entire 2002/2003 season. During this season Sunderland were relegated from the Premier League.
After making a successful recovery, Brown was promoted to the Sunderland first team, and was allocated the number 31 shirt for the club's first season back in the First Division. During the season, Brown was loaned to Doncaster Rovers, where he made 22 appearances during his seven-month stay, scoring 10 goals. Brown ended the season with a Nationwide Division Three winners medal, finishing four points ahead of future club Hull City, who finished second.
In the 18th and 19th century, racialist written works proposed geographically based "scientific" differences among "the races." Many of these racial models assigned colours to the groups described, and some included a "brown race" as in the following:
Early German anthropologist Johann Blumenbach extended Linnaeus' four-colour race model by adding the brown race, "Malay race", which included both the Malay division of Austronesian (Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Pattani, Sumatra Madagascar, Formosans, etc.) and Polynesians and Melanesians of Pacific Islands, as well as Papuans and Aborigines of Australia.
A remix is a piece of media which has been altered from its original state by adding, removing, and/or changing pieces of the item. A song, piece of artwork, book, video, or photograph can all be remixes. The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new.
Most commonly, remixes are associated with music and songs. Songs are remixed for a variety of reasons:
to use some of the same materials, allowing the song to reach a different audience
to alter a song for artistic purposes.
to provide additional versions of a song for use as bonus tracks or for a B-side, for example, in times when a CD single might carry a total of 4 tracks
to create a connection between a smaller artist and a more successful one, as was the case with Fatboy Slim's remix of "Brimful of Asha" by Cornershop
"Remix (I Like The)" did not enter the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, becoming their first lead single to fail charting since "Be My Girl" (1986). Instead, the song peaked at number 38 on the Adult Pop Songs chart.
Critical reception
PopCrush gave the song 3.5 stars out of five. In her review Jessica Sager wrote, "The song sounds like an adult contemporary answer to The Wanted mixed with Bruno Mars‘ ‘Locked Out of Heaven.’ It has a danceable beat like many of the British bad boys’ tracks, but is stripped down and raw enough to pass for Mars’ latest radio smash as well." Carl Williott of Idolator commended the song's chorus, but criticized its "liberal use of Auto-Tune" and compared Donnie Wahlberg's vocals to Chad Kroeger.
Remix was an Indian television series produced by Rose Audio Visuals, which used to air on STAR One. It was a hit among teenagers and had reruns on the same channel. The series is a remake of the popular Argentine soap Rebelde Way.
Concept
The story is based on the lives of 12th-grade students in an elite school called "Maurya High" for the kids of the rich and the famous, and scholarship students from poorer families.
The four main characters are Tia Ahuja (a fashion entrepreneur's only daughter: Sumit Ahuja), Anvesha Ray Banerjee (a Bollywood filmstar's only daughter: Sonia Ray), Yuvraaj Dev (brat son of India's politician: Yashwant Dev), and Ranveer Sisodia (a Rajasthani royal who comes to Maurya to avenge the death of his father which wasn't really Sumit Ahuja's fault). They form the music group "Remix" and become the singing sensation of the decade.
The story also brings into play other elements that shape the destiny of the four protagonists and many others.
A retired teacher and novelist (Bruno), who survives by private tutoring, is currently writing the biography for former adult star (Tina). He then discovers that one of his students (Luca), a teenager who is on the brink of failure at school, is actually his son.
Music
The twelve tracks of the original soundtrack were produced by The Ceasars and sung by the Italian rapper Amir Issaa, then published by EMI Music Publishing Italy. The official videoclip of the film, directed by Gianluca Catania, won the 2012 Roma Videoclip Award. The Ceasars and Amir were nominated for the 2012 David di Donatello Award and Nastro d'Argento (silver ribbons) for the song “Scialla” and won the 2012 “Premio Cinema Giovane” for the best original soundtrack.

Classified: The Untold Story of Racial Classification in America
Americans are understandably squeamish about official racial and ethnic classifications. Nevertheless, these classifications are ubiquitous in American life. Applying for a job, mortgage, university admission, citizenship, or government contract involves checking a box indicating whether one is Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, or Native American. In an increasingly diverse society with high rates of intergroup marriage, the American system of racial classification is getting even more arbitrary and absurd. With rising ethnonationalism threatening democracy around the world, it’s also dangerous. My name is Danielle Romero, and all my life, I have romanticized Louisiana.
Growing up in New York, it represented a place where I could step back the sepia-toned life of my great grandmother, Lola Perot, who died before I was born.
Now, it was time to go back to Louisiana--although I had no idea what the truth would be or what questions to ask---who was Lola really? Who were we?
