Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma (Cerveceria Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma / Heineken Mexico) (English: Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery) is a major brewery based in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, founded in 1890. Currently it is a subsidiary of Heineken International.
The company operates brewing plants in Monterrey, Guadalajara, Toluca, Orizaba and, beginning in 2017, Meoqui, producing the Dos Equis, Sol, Bohemia, Superior, Carta Blanca, Noche Buena, Indio, Casta and Tecate brands among others. It has an annual production of 3.09 GL (gigalitres).
History
The Cuauhtémoc brewery was founded in Monterrey in 1890 by José Calderón Muguerza, José A. Muguerza, Francisco G. Sada Muguerza, Alberto Sada Muguerza, Isaac Garza Garza (brother in-law of Francisco and Alberto, married to their sister Consuelo Sada Muguerza), Joseph M. Schnaider, and Wilhelm Hasse, with capital of 150,000 pesos, starting with the Carta Blanca brand. Cuauhtémoc brewery produced its first beer barrel in 1893 and won first prize in the Chicago and Paris world fairs.
Cuauhtémoc (Nahuatl pronunciation:[kʷaːʍˈtemoːk], Spanish pronunciation:[kwauˈtemok] also known as Cuauhtemotzin, Guatimozin or Guatemoc; c. 1495) was the Mexica ruler (tlatoani) of Tenochtitlan from 1520 to 1521, making him the last Aztec Emperor. The name Cuāuhtemōc means "one who has descended like an eagle", and is commonly rendered in English as "Descending Eagle," as in the moment when an eagle folds its wings and plummets down to strike its prey. This is a name that implies aggressiveness and determination.
Cuauhtémoc took power in 1520 as successor of Cuitláhuac and was a cousin of the late emperor Moctezuma II. His young wife, who was later known as Isabel Moctezuma, was one of Moctezuma's daughters. He ascended to the throne when he was around 25 years old, while Tenochtitlan was being besieged by the Spanish and devastated by an epidemic of smallpox brought to the New World by the invaders. After the killings in the Great Temple, there were probably few Aztec captains available to take the position.
ARM Cuauhtémoc may refer to one of the following ships of the Mexican Navy:
ARMCuauhtémoc(E01), the former American Fletcher-classdestroyer USS Harrison (DD-573), launched in May 1942; acquired by the Mexican Navy in August 1970; taken out of service in 1982 and dismantled

Beer Me Episode 85 - Tecate Review
Welcome to Beer Me! Each week, we sit down with a six pack of beer and a pocket full of dreams. Over the course of an hour, we score the beer in five different categories: Artwork, Taste, Smoothness, Downability, and Reliability. While not that perfect, or all that trustworthy, it's at least a little entertaining. Feel free to comment with beers you'd like us to review! Cheers!!

Dos Equis is well-known in Mexico and the United States due to advertisements called “The Most Interesting Man in the World.” These ads have gringo actor Jonathan Goldsmith and a narrator telling of his amazing exploits. Jonathan retired not too long ago and was replaced by a far less-superior actor who is actually French (and pales in comparison to Jonathan)...go figure.
Our review process entails a very detailed analysis that includes the look of the can/bottle, sound, and smoke when you open it, consistency at pour, smell, and finally taste.
We had some fun with this one while getting Chris’s Amazon Alexa to play songs by Vincente Fernández...
We touched on everything: the debate about lime vs. no lime (Alberto said limes in Mexican beer was a gringo lime salesperson idea originally), whether or not it was politically correct for a gringo to wear a Mexican sombrero (Chris obviously didn’t care), Chris’s cousin’s relationship with Jonathan Goldsmith (a.k.a. The Most Interesting Man in the World), and even Oscar’s idea for a new tequila (Jaja Tequila).
Oscar took a big shit (or should we say Mexican piss) on this beer, saying it was a typical macro-brew needed to be served ice-cold for it to be palatable. Alberto rated it just passable for drinking (at the sandbar, on the kayak...blah blah blah), and Chris enjoyed it so much he took his sweet-ass time drinking it...extending the length of the video (sorry guys).
Overall, this beer was just good enough to drink...it avoided the dump bucket by the skin of a lime!
Don’t Blame us... Blame the beer!
