Crossmaglen Rangers Gaelic Athletic Club (Irish:Raonaithe na Croise) is a GAA club in Crossmaglen, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. They cater for Gaelic football and camogie. Their home football ground is St. Oliver Plunkett Park, which was opened in 1959. In 1971 the British Army took possession of a portion of the ground despite opposition from the club and the Irish Government, and this led to a controversy regarding the British Army's conduct.
Founded in 1887 as Crossmaglen Red Hands, the club did not acquire its present name until 1909. The Red Hands claimed the Armagh Senior Football Championship in 1887 through default by Keady Dwyers. After a period of inactivity due to political differences, the Red Hands reaffiliated in 1905, when Owney Martin became the first Crossmaglen player to join the county team. In 1906 the Red Hands won their first contested Championship final, defeating Shane O'Neill's by 1-4 to 6 points. They also won the All-County League. After further political controversy, the Red Hands split, and a new club called Creggan Rovers emerged to win the 1908 championship, defeating Armagh Harps GFC by a point.

It took an injury-time goal from Caolan Finnegan to ease Crossmaglen Rangers over the line at the end of a dramatic Armagh senior football championship tie against Silverbridge at a rain-soaked Athletic Grounds yesterday.
Crossmaglen were made to fight all the way by their fired-up opponents who, buoyed by goals from Paddy Reel and Pauric Keating, had swept into a 2-10 to 0-12 lead entering the last quarter.
But although Sean Rock and Jarly Og Burns also proved creative forces for Silverbridge, it was a Cian McConville point allied to Finnegan’s all-important goal that helped to usher Crossmaglen into the next stage of the championship.
Also in the Armagh series Lurgan outfit Clan na gael held on to beat Carrickcruppen by 0-13 to 1-8 after having led by 0-6 to 1-2 at the interval.
And Dromintee produced a strong finish to overcome Sarsfields by 3-8 to 1-6. Sarsfields had led by 1-3 to 0-4 at half-time but two goals from Cathal McKenna eventually helped to stamp Dromintee’s passport into the last eight of the competition.
Derry champions Glen, meanwhile, were given a nasty fright by Swatragh before scrambling to a 0-14 to 1-9 victory in a heart-stopping finish. Danny Tallon, Tiarnan Flanagan, Conor Glass and Conleth McGuckin led the winners’ points haul while Lorcan McWilliams posted a majestic 1-4 for Swatragh.
In the Down championship Burren engaged in one of the lowest-scoring ties for some time when they hurdled RGU Downpatrick by 2-3 to 0-2. The sides were level at a scarcely credible 0-1 each at half-time in terrible conditions. And Castlewellan also advanced in the Mourne county in beating Bredagh by 2-7 to 1-3.
Oisin McConville’s Inniskeen Grattans, meanwhile, powered into the last four of the Monaghan championship in beating Carrickmacross by 1-15 to 0-10 having been 0-8 to 0-6 in arrears at the half-way stage of a fiercely-contested encounter.
