David Stephen Rossi is a fictional character in the CBS crime drama Criminal Minds, portrayed by Joe Mantegna. He is a Supervisory Special Agent of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, and has appeared from the episode "About Face", which was originally broadcast on October 31, 2007, during the show's third season.
Rossi begins the series returning to the FBI after a lengthy period of being semi-retired, with his return due to "unfinished business". He is shown to be emotionally tied to Aaron Hotchner, as they both worked together during the early days of the Behaviorial Analysis Unit. Rossi is also a writer, and is one of the team's senior and most decorated profilers. He replaced Jason Gideon, who was written out following Mandy Patinkin's abrupt departure from the series.
Mantegna has stated in an interview that the character was named after one of the policemen who had testified at the O. J. Simpson trial. Rossi's middle name, Stephen, was revealed in a flashback near the end of the tenth season episode, "Nelson's Sparrow." After Rossi has deduced that Jason Gideon is about to become a father, Gideon asks Rossi what his middle name is. This is followed by a present-time scene where Rossi greets Gideon's son, Stephen, by name. (The "ph" spelling of the name was used in the episode's end credits.)
The third season of Criminal Minds premiered on CBS on September 26, 2007 and ended May 21, 2008. The third season was originally to have featured 25 episodes; however, only 13 were completed due to the Writers Guild of America strike (2007-2008). Seven more episodes were produced after the strike, bringing the total number of episodes to 20 for the third season. Mandy Patinkin wanted to leave the series, since he loathed the violent nature of it. He was replaced by Joe Mantegna several episodes later.
In the season premiere "Nameless, Faceless," D. B. Sweeney guest starred as Sam Kassmeyer, a U.S. Marshal who is assigned to protect Aaron Hotchner's family until George Foyet is caught. In the episode "Haunted," Sean Patrick Flanery guest starred as Darren Call, a spree killer who has never forgotten the day his father's last victim escaped. Glenn Morshower guest starred as Lieutenant Kevin Mitchell, who leads the investigation of the shooting. Michael Bowen guest starred as Tommy Phillips, the lone survivor of Bill Jarvis, aka "The Hollow Creek Killer." In the episode "Reckoner," Lawrence Pressman guest starred as Boyd Schuller, a terminally ill court judge who hires Tony Mecacci to commit a series of vigilante murders.
In the pilot episode, "Extreme Aggressor," Andrew Jackson guest starred as the series first UnSub, Timothy Vogel, aka "The Seattle Strangler." Chelah Horsdal played his victim, Heather Woodland. In the episode "Won't Get Fooled Again," Tim Kelleher guest starred as Adrian Bale, a serial bomber responsible for the deaths of six FBI Agents. In the episode "Plain Sight," Kirk B. R. Woller guest starred as serial rapist and murderer Franklin Graney, aka "The Tommy Killer," and Sunkrish Bala made a small appearance as Jordan.
In the episode "Broken Mirror," Matt Letscher guest starred as Vincent Shyer, an erotomaniacal stalker who abducts one of the twin daughters of Executive Assistant District Attorney Evan Davenport, played by Robin Thomas. In the episode "L.D.S.K.", Marcus Giamatti guest starred as Barry Landman, a narcissistic trauma surgeon suspected of committing several shootings. Paula Newsome plays Detective Shea Calvin, who leads the investigation of the shootings. In the episode "The Fox," Neal Jones guest starred as one of the series' most notorious criminals, Karl Arnold, aka "The Fox," a serial killer who murders entire families. Tony Todd guest starred as Eric Miller, a man who was wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of his family.
David (Bulgarian:Давид) (died 976) was a Bulgarian noble, brother of Emperor Samuel and eldest son of komes Nicholas. After the disastrous invasion of Rus' armies and the fall of North-eastern Bulgaria under Byzantine occupation in 971, he and his three younger brothers took the lead of the defence of the country. They executed their power together and each of them governed and defended a separate region. He ruled the southern-most parts of the realm from Prespa and Kastoria and was responsible for the defence the dangerous borders with Thessalonica and Thessaly. In 976 he participated in the major assault against the Byzantine Empire but was killed by vagrant Vlachs between Prespa and Kostur.
Family tree
Another theory
However, there's also another version about David’s origin. David gains the title "comes" during his service in the Byzantine army which recruited many Armenians from the Eastern region of the empire. The 11th-century historian Stepanos Asoghik wrote that Samuel had one brother, and they were Armenians from the district Derjan. This version is supported by the historians Nicholas Adontz, Jordan Ivanov, and Samuil's Inscription where it’s said that Samuel’s brother is David. Also, the historians Yahya and Al Makin clearly distinguish the race of Samuel and David (the Comitopouli) from the one of Moses and Aaron (the royal race):
David (Spanish pronunciation:[daˈβið]) officially San José de David is a city and corregimiento located in the west of Panama. It is the capital of the province of Chiriquí and has an estimated population of 144,858 inhabitants as confirmed in 2013. It is a relatively affluent city with a firmly established, dominant middle class and a very low unemployment and poverty index. The Pan-American Highway is a popular route to David.
The development of the banking sector, public construction works such as the expansion of the airport and the David-Boquete highway alongside the growth of commercial activity in the city have increased its prominence as one of the fastest growing regions in the country. The city is currently the economic center of the Chiriqui province and produces more than half the gross domestic product of the province, which totals 2.1 billion. It is known for being the third-largest city in the country both in population and by GDP and for being the largest city in Western Panama.
David Abraham Cheulkar (1909 – 28 December 1981), popularly known as David, was a Jewish-IndianHindi film actor and a member of Mumbai's Marathi speaking Bene Israel community. In a career spanning four decades, he played mostly character roles, starting with 1941 film Naya Sansar, and went on to act in over 110 films, including memorable films like, Gol Maal (1979), Baton Baton Mein (1979) and Boot Polish (1954) for which he was awarded the 1955 Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.
Early life
David graduated from the University of Bombay with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the year 1930. After a six year unsuccessful struggle to land himself a job, he decided to try his luck in the Hindi film industry by becoming a professional actor. During these years of struggle, he also managed to obtain a degree in law from the Government Law College.
Finally, on 15 January 1937, with the help of his close friend Mr. Nayampalli, a veteran character actor, he managed to land himself his first role in a movie. The movie was Zambo and it was being produced and directed by Mohan Bhavnani who was the Chief Producer of the Films Division of the Government of India.

HOTCHNER: SSA David Rossi, this is SSA Emily Prentiss.
PRENTISS: Sir.
HOTCHNER: SSA Derek Morgan.
MORGAN: It's an honor, Agent Rossi.
DAVID ROSSI: Please, just Dave.
HOTCHNER: And Dr. Spencer Reid.
REID: Sir, i-if I could talk to you later about your work with the Scarsdale Skinner. Psycho-linguistics is an incredibly dynamic field, and the fact that your profile of his reading habits ultimately led to his capture is something I find so incredibly intrig --
HOTCHNER: Reid, slow down. He'll be here for a while. You can catch up with him later.
REID: Sorry.
DAVID ROSSI: No problem, Doctor.
HOTCHNER: Maybe you guys can talk on the jet.
REID: Oh, yeah, that'd be great.
DAVID ROSSI: The jet?
HOTCHNER: We have a jet now.
DAVID ROSSI: Are you serious?
HOTCHNER: Yeah. It comes in pretty handy. Come on. JJ's waiting.

REID: (to Morgan) Can you get in there?
HOTCHNER: I'll ... meet you guys up there.
REID: Don't do that.
(Morgan stops. Then he jumps a couple more times.)
MORGAN: Why isn't it moving?
REID: I don't know.
REID: Don't -- stop it! Don't --
MORGAN: What? What's the problem?
REID: Don't do that!
MORGAN: Why not?
REID: Because there are six elevator-related deaths per year, not to mention ten thousand injuries that require hospitalization. Chill out.
MORGAN: That sounds like pretty good odds to me. What? What? Are you scared, Reid? You scared? You scared of --
REID: I'm not scared. I don't want to be in an elevator with you, to be honest.
MORGAN: How about I push that? What if I push --
MORGAN: Whoa. Whoa. Okay.
REID: Um ... hit the--hit the--
MORGAN: Yeah.
REID: Push it! It might have--
MORGAN: Push, pull, push, pull. I'm doing it. Nothing's happening.
REID: Pry -- pry -- Pry the door open. Just --
REID: Yeah.
MORGAN: It's stuck, man.
MORGAN: Uhh!
MORGAN: No, no, no, no. Not today. No, not today.
REID: (squeaks) Hotch?
MORGAN: (shouts) Hotch!
MORGAN: Hallelujah.
HOTCHNER: Was that the alarm? You guys okay?
REID: I'll get back to you on that.
REID: Ohh ... Whoo.

REID: Hey, Jeremy, do you know what I do for the FBI?
JEREMY JACOBS: No.
REID: Study human behavior. Like ... uh ... the way you're pushing your chair away from me, it tells me that what I'm saying is making you uncomfortable, like ... uh ... you're trying to distance yourself from me, maybe from what I'm capable of reading about you.
JEREMY JACOBS: Whatever.
REID: Case in point: You bite your inner cheek. It's a -- it's a nervous tic, like you're holding on to something. Doing it right now.
Either I am a really bad human being or just have a very twisted sense of humour but this scene, which I think is meant to horrify us? Just cracks me up every. single. time. lol
Season 3, Episode 19 "Tabula Rasa"
This is my favourite moment in Criminal Minds ever. Please ignore the watermark. I'm a newbie when it comes to editing.
There's a spark that ignites the internal fire It makes us strive for the best we can be and higher Sometimes we stumble and we're back at the start But it won't matter 'cause we're used to it hard That's why it won't get us down, it's just the way that we are It's not just the way that it works out sometimes 'Cause that we have was bought with our last dimes Wherever we go through the rain and snow From the sand and the sun to whichever way the wind blows Each of our hearts make up equal parts And they're bound by a cause that can't be held to man's laws Facing the odds as human lighting rods We grow strong from our pain though we've gone a little insane Together we're one and as one we'll fall However dark it seems, don't underestimate the team Road life brings each of us close together We don't sleep 'cause we know that it's now or never It may be tough to ride and sleep in a van Suspicuous looks and hiding out from the man Can't tell us we're not a movement we just play in a band We know what we want and we want it right now
