The 2006 New York Giants season began with the team trying to improve on their 11–5 record in 2005, which saw them win the NFC East. They did not win the NFC East or improve on that record, falling to 8–8 on the season after starting 6–2. However, head coach Tom Coughlin became the first Giants head coach since Bill Parcells to lead the team to consecutive playoff berths as the team qualified as one of two NFC wild card teams. This is Tiki Barber's final season in the NFL.
Offseason
In the 2006 off-season, the Giants acquired 3 time Pro Bowl linebacker LaVar Arrington as a free agent. Arrington previously played for the Redskins for six seasons. The Giants also acquired cornerbackSam Madison as a free agent. Madison played nine seasons with the Dolphins and went to the Pro Bowl four straight times from 1999–2002. Other notable free agent signings for the Giants included free safety Will Demps from the Ravens, cornerback R.W. McQuarters from the Lions, and linebacker Brandon Short from the Panthers.
"New York" is the twenty-second episode and season finale of the second season of the American musical television series Glee, and the forty-fourth overall. The episode was written and directed by series creator Brad Falchuk, filmed in part on location in New York City, and first aired on May 24, 2011 on Fox in the United States. With a $6million budget, it was reportedly the most expensive episode of Glee at the time of broadcast. It garnered a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Costumes for a Series. The episode features an appearance by Patti LuPone as herself and guest stars Jonathan Groff, Cheyenne Jackson, and Charice. The McKinley High School glee club, New Directions, performs at the National show choir competition in New York City and finishes in twelfth place. While they are there, the glee club members see the sights, including Times Square and Central Park; and Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) sing a song from a Broadway stage, as does their director, Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison).

The 23rd International 500-Mile Sweepstakes Race was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Thursday, May 30, 1935. Despite attempts to improve participant safety by requiring crash helmets and installing green and yellow lights around the track, the event that year would prove to be one of the worst in terms of fatalities.
Kelly Petillo won the race, accompanied by riding mechanic Jimmy Dunham. Pete DePaolo, the 1925 winner, was the team principal, becoming the first individual to win the race separately as a driver and an owner.
On May 21, nine days before the race, three prospective participants lost their lives. Rookie Johnny Hannon, on just his first lap at racing speed, had his car go over the outside retaining wall and was killed from a fractured skull. Later that day, driver Hartford "Stubby" Stubblefield also had his car go over the outside wall, and both he and his riding mechanic Leo Whittaker died from injuries they received being thrown from the vehicle.Kelly Petillo, the eventual winner, had his own difficulties getting into the field. His initial qualifying run (a record-breaking 121.687 miles per hour (195.836km/h) was voided when his car was ruled to have exceeded the fuel limit. Returning to the track, he had an engine blow, before finally having a qualifying run of 115.095 that placed him 22nd in the field.
The 62nd International 500 Mile Sweepstakes was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 28, 1978. Danny Ongais dominated the early stages of the race but eventually dropped out with a blown engine. Al Unser, Sr. dominated the second half, and held a large lead late in the race. However, Unser bent his Lola's front wing during a pit stop on lap 180, causing his handling to go away over the final 20 laps. Second place Tom Sneva charged to catch the crippled Lola but came up 8 seconds short at the finish - the second-closest finish in Indy history to that point. Unser held off the challenge, and became a three-time winner of the 500.
Al Unser, Sr. entered the month having won the 1977 California 500 at Ontario the previous September. Later in the 1978 season, Unser would go on to win the Pocono 500 and the California 500, sweeping the "triple crown" of Indy car racing. As of 2014, he is the only driver in history to do so in the same season, and coupled with the win at Ontario in 1977, set a record by winning four straight 500-mile Indy car races.

Western Kentucky Quarterback Bailey Zappe had one of the GREATEST College Football Seasons of ALL TIME. Bailey Zappe broke LSU QB Joe Burrow's single-season record for touchdown passes. Bailey Zappe also broke the record for passing yards in a single-season as well.
Bailey Zappe might be the biggest sleeper in the 2022 NFL Draft. He looked amazing at the 2022 NFL Combine. He is projected to be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round, potentially by the Eagles, Cowboys, or Panthers
I hear the train all night Sound of its wind blowing through our subtle lives And I have a job to do walking these cars Walking all asleep to get to you But I don't feel your stir beside me And your not in my morning hour Some ties are made to break Some stalks grow high and green to run away And feel the wake And these lines tell the truth These city veins answer all you do So could you keep me in the pulses Could you keep me in the sound I got wise and I got old Not once, not once did I fall So don't you know Maybe you bet on me While we were still young enough to know Or to believe For every year you took For every soft breathe or loving look Believe me And don't keep me like you have me And don't kiss me like you don't I got wise and I got old Not once, not once did I fall So don't you now Some land holds a home Some of my years only hold me to Rome But I tell myself its true You see a home you see a man You see it too And I say don't you know you have her Go on kiss her now you boy I got wise and I got old Not once, not once did I fall So don't you now I got wise and I got old Not once, not once did I fall
