Josh Powell (born January 25, 1983) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for San Lorenzo of the Argentinian Liga Nacional de Básquet (LNB). He played college basketball with North Carolina State.
Powell played college basketball at North Carolina State University, with the N.C. State Wolfpack. He averaged 12.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in his sophomore year (2002–2003).
Powell went undrafted in the 2003 NBA Draft and played in Europe. He played in two games in the 2003–04 season with Lokomotiv-Rostov in the Russian Superleague, before finishing the season with Scafati Basket of the Italian Second Division. In the 2004–05 season, Powell averaged 15.9 points and 11.9 rebounds per game with JuveCaserta Basket in the Italian Second Division. Powell then worked out for numerous NBA teams, and was eventually signed by the Dallas Mavericks, who were looking for a power forward to develop behind star Dirk Nowitzki.
Josh Powell is a Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 50th district (Topeka, Kansas in Shawnee County, Kansas).
City of Heroes (CoH) was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on the superhero comic book genre developed by Cryptic Studios and published by NCSOFT. The game was launched in North America on April 27, 2004, and in Europe (by NCsoft Europe) on February 4, 2005, with English, German and French language servers. Twenty-three free major updates for City of Heroes were released before its shutdown, with a nearly finished 24th update able to be played on the games beta server. The final live update, "Where Shadows Lie," was released on May 31, 2012. On August 31, 2012, NCsoft terminated its Paragon Studios development team, ending all production on CoH with the last day of services on November 30, 2012.
In the game, players created super-powered player characters that could team up with others to complete missions and fight criminals belonging to various gangs and organizations in the fictional Paragon City.
On October 31, 2005, the game's first sequel, City of Villains (CoV), was launched, allowing players to play as supervillains. Initially dubbed as an "expanshalone" by the developers (a portmanteau of an expansion pack and stand-alone), the game did not require CoH to run, but if the user had both games, content was added to the CoH side of game play. On July 16, 2008, NCsoft merged the two games' content together. Thus, a player who only owned City of Heroes could now play City of Villains, and vice versa. Prior to this, a purchase was required to access either game's content, but they were linked by one account and subscription fee.
City of Heroes is the second studio album by the melodic rock / heavy metal duet project Kiske/Somerville. The album features the collaboration between vocalist Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween, Unisonic, Place Vendome) and American singer Amanda Somerville (Aina, HDK, Trillium). It was released on 17 April 2015 in Europe and on 21 April 2015 in North America.
The album features Mat Sinner (Primal Fear, Sinner) and Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear) handling most of the songwriting, with one contribution from Sander Gommans (ex-After Forever) and Amanda Somerville. Veronika Lukesova is in charge of the drumming and Sinner together with Jacob Hansen handle the production.
Two music videos were filmed for the songs "City Of Heroes" and "Walk On Water" in Nurnberg, Germany. Joining Kiske and Somerville for the shoot were bassist and composer Mat Sinner, guitarist, keyboardist and composer Magnus Karlsson and drummer Veronika Lukesova. The clips were directed by Martin Mueller.
City of Heroes is an American comic book based on the characters and situations from the now closed City of Heroes massively multiplayer online role-playing computer game.
North American subscribers to the game originally received the City of Heroes monthly comic book in the mail; it is also available in some comic book stores. The comic follows the adventures of fictional Paragon City heroes and ties into the game's plot development at times, as well as featuring a section devoted to fan art, fan fiction, and other miscellany in the back. At times, this rear section has also included comic strips by Tim Buckley of Ctrl+Alt+Del and Aaron Williams of PS238 and Nodwick.
A single promotional comic was released in 2002 by Dark Horse Comics to promote the game. Written by Richard Dakan and drawn by Rick Zombo, the issue followed the story of a hero new to Paragon City named Thunder-Clap, and set some of the story behind the game, including the Fifth Column, the Freakshow, and the Statesman. This promotional issue also featured Apex and War Witch, who later became protagonists in the Blue King Studios publication of the comic book.

A new experiment from KSL's COLD podcast team points to a particular power tool as a possible murder weapon in the December 6, 2009 death of Susan Powell. COLD host Dave Cawley breaks down the evidence suggesting Josh Powell might have destroyed a Ridgid impact driver with an oxyacetylene torch the night after his wife disappeared.
Josh Powell’s wife, Susan Powell had been missing for days when he packed up and moved his sons to another state. Towards the end of the Susan Powell investigation, police turned their attention to Josh's brother, Michael. Detectives were confused by Michael's involvement, especially after the immediate circumstances of Susan's disappearance. KSL's true-crime podcast COLD obtained video documentation of the police's involvement and questioning with Michael Powell.
