He first rode in the UK when he appeared with the 2005 USA Dream Team tour. He signed with the Redcar Bears in British Premier League 2006. He rode for the Wolverhampton Wolves in the Elite League as a doubling up rider in their squad. The other half of his doubling up ride is with the Newport Wasps in the Premier League.
Kerr first took up refereeing in 1991 at the age of 14 in his home town of New Plymouth. In 2006 he became a referee on the ASB Premiership. In 2009 he officiated his first OFC Champions League match between Marist FC (Solomon Islands) and Lautoka F.C. (Fiji) in Honiara. Since then, he has refereed further OFC Champions League games and was a match official at the South Pacific Games in 2011 refereeing his first international. In 2012 he was promoted to the FIFA list as a referee and nominated for New Zealand Footballs' Referee of the year.
Chris Kerr (born 6 September 1978 in Paisley) is a Scottish former professional football player. Kerr played in nearly 100 competitive matches for St. Mirren, his local professional club. His career was stunted by a serious knee injury suffered in 1999, when opponent Ross Tokely committed an "overzealous tackle" on Kerr. Tokely's challenge caused damage to his cruciate ligament and forced Kerr out of the game for nearly 18 months. After this incident, St. Mirren fans repeatedly barracked Tokely during matches.
Chris Kerr has been riding speedway since age 8. He started as a Jr. Speedway rider and advanced the the 500's at the age of 16. Chris won the US Open Speedway Championship and raced in the British League.
Chris is always one of the top riders whenever he is on the track, Mr. Chris Kerr.
