Triglycerides in lipoproteins. LDL vs LDL-cholesterol level. good cholesterol and bad cholesterol? is LDL-cholesterol ‘bad’? animals with high LDL-cholesterol level, people with high LDL-cholesterol level = heart disease. people with low LDL-cholesterol level are health freaks?
RCTs on LDL-cholesterol level: group with LDL-cholesterol level lowered has less heart disease. high LDL-cholesterol level is a problem. strong case that high LDL-cholesterol level is an issue
we have different levels of LDL-cholesterol. low ldl-cholesterol level from birth = less heart disease. ldl-cholesterol level not 100% in genes

Cholesterol is a waxy substance which is produced by the liver and combines in our bloodstream. The reason why it is important for cholesterol to be present in our bloodstream is to produce new cells.
There are high chances of so many complications if our cholesterol level is higher than normal. What are the complications? What are the types of cholesterol? We are going to see about this now.
There are 2 main types: one is called LDL, and the other one is called HDL. What is LDN? Low-Density Lipoprotein, L means low and H means high, and HDL is High-Density Lipoprotein.
Are these 2 bad cholesterol? Which is good and which is bad cholesterol? We can remember it easily by this: High-Density Lipoprotein, the HDL value should always be high, and the Low-density Lipoprotein should be at low levels.
This LDL is seen as cholesterol in our bloodstream. If the level of it is higher than normal, it is deposited as plaque in the arteries.

In this video, we’re going to talk about what you need to know if you have high cholesterol on keto. The American Heart Association guidelines actually state that “total cholesterol is not significantly associated with heart disease.” Your body makes cholesterol to make hormones, cell membranes, bile, and vitamin D.
Total cholesterol is really LDL, HDL, and triglycerides combined. Whenever a person gets a cholesterol test, they may also want to get an advanced lipid profile. This is an advanced test that measures the two different types of LDL.
The two types of LDL are large buoyant and small dense (sdLDL-C). The type of cholesterol that can be dangerous is the small dense (sdLDL-C). The small dense type may be a better marker for predicting future potential heart problems and a better indicator of inflammation inside of the arteries. The small dense type of LDL comes from a high-carb diet.
By doing the healthy version of keto, you can get into ketosis and start burning fat. There will be certain times where your cholesterol goes up and down. But, as long as you keep your carbs low, you’ll get more of the large buoyant LDL and not the small dense type.
A few potential causes of inflammation in the arteries:
• Seed oils
• Glucose
• Smoking
• Junk food
• Low vitamin E

Today we’re going to talk about cholesterol, and I want to cover the seven foods that lower bad cholesterol.
HDL is considered good cholesterol, and LDL is considered bad cholesterol. But, there are two types of LDL. The real villain when it comes to cholesterol and heart problems is a very specific type of LDL.
To measure this type of LDL, you have to ask for a test called an advanced lipid profile test. With this test, they’re looking at the number and size of the particles that carry cholesterol.
The two types, or particle sizes, of LDL, are:
1. The large buoyant (pattern A)
2. The small dense (pattern B)
The small dense LDL particles are the ones you have to be concerned about because they can penetrate the arteries, even though the large buoyant type carries more cholesterol. Small dense LDL is a strong predictor of cardiovascular disease.
This topic can be confusing because some people have low LDL cholesterol but a high number of small dense particles. Others have high LDL with a high number of large buoyant particles. This is why it’s so important to get an advanced lipid profile test, so you have the whole picture of what’s going on.
Top foods that lower bad cholesterol (small dense LDL):
1. Extra virgin olive oil
2. Avocados
3. Fish oils or cod liver oil
4. Pistachios
5. Dark chocolate (sugar-free)
6. Almonds
7. Walnuts
Other things you can do to lower cholesterol naturally:
• Take vitamin B3 (niacin)
• Exercise
• Take TUDCA
