Chiricahua (/ˌtʃɪrᵻˈkɑːwə/ USdict:chĭr′·ĭ·kâ′·wə) are a band of ApacheNative Americans, based in the Southern Plains and Southwest United States. Culturally related to other Apache peoples, Chiricahua historically shared a common area, language, customs, and intertwined family relations. At the time of European contact, they had a territory of 15 million acres (61,000km2) in Southwestern New Mexico and Southeastern Arizona in the United States and in Northern Sonora and Chihuahua in Mexico.
The Chiricahua Apache were initially given their name by the Spanish. They are also known as the Chiricagui, Apaches de Chiricahui, Chiricahues, Chilicague, Chilecagez, and Chiricagua. The White Mountain Apache, including the Cibecue and Bylas groups of the Western Apache, called them Ha'i’ą́há (meaning 'Eastern Sunrise"). The San Carlos Apache called them Hák'ą́yé. The Navajo, call the Chiricahua Chíshí.
Chiricahua National Monument, Arizona, USA [Amazing Places 4K]
Chiricahua National Monument is a "Wonderland of Rocks" located in Southeastern Arizona, USA. Stunning rock formations - pinnacles, hoodoos and balancing rocks - are the most common formations in the monument. The Apaches called the area the "Land of Standing Up Rocks". Not many people visit this amazing area, since the monument is quite remote.
Recorded October 2020 in 4K Ultra HD with Sony AX700 and DJI Osmo Pocket.

Chiricahua National Monument
Chiricahua National Monument south east of Tucson is an imposing landscape that encompasses nearly 12,000 acres and is home to various natural and historical attractions. Staff members, visitors and others including William Ascarza say the area is worth visiting because of its many attributes. Ascarza is the author of “Chiricahua Mountains – History and Nature” which was published in 2014. The monument is described as a “Wonderland of Rocks” and includes an 8-mile scenic drive as well as historical buildings constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps and early residents.

Arizona Road Trip to Chiricahua National Monument
In this Arizona road trip tour we head down to the Chiricahua National Monument. While down here we explore some of the trails and go up to Massai Point. The actual park itself is only 5 to 6 square miles but the volcanic pinnacles at the top are what people come for. The camping down here is some of my favorite in Arizona. We also explore Portal Arizona and Cave Creek Arizona located down here in Southeastern AZ.

What happens to ecosystems after wildfire or other major disturbances? We go on a journey though the Chiricahua Mountains with UA researcher Jim Malusa who tracks how vegetation on the mountain range has changed since the Horseshoe 2 fire of 2011. Chiricahua Apache
The chief deity of the Chiricahua Apache was Ussen, whose will governed all. Ussen existed before the creation of the universe. He created the first Mother with no parents who sang four times, a sacred number to the Chiricahua Apache. Her singing began the creation of the universe. Ussen also created the first Boy and Sun God who shook hands. The sweat from this handshake created the Earth. The Earth was small at first, so they kicked it around and it gained mass like a snowball rolling down a hill, getting larger and larger. Ussen also created Tarantula, who increased the Earth’s size even more by pulling on it with four cords of web which he spun. Ussen then created the first people and fire and then he left.
