According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 21.2 square miles (55km2), of which 21.1sqmi (55km2) is land and 0.1sqmi (0.26km2) is water, comprising 0.52% of the town. The highest point in Chichester is an unnamed summit at 1,015 feet (309m) above sea level, midway between Garvin Hill (985ft or 300m) to the east and Plausawa Hill (1,000ft or 300m) to the west in neighboring Pembroke. All three summits are less than one mile apart. Chichester lies fully within the Merrimack Riverwatershed.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,236 people, 823 households, and 637 families residing in the town. The population density was 106.1 people per square mile (41.0/km²). There were 849 housing units at an average density of 40.3 per square mile (15.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.17% White, 0.18% African American, 0.36% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.18% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.67% of the population.
In January 1776 it became the first of the British North American colonies to establish a government independent of the Kingdom of Great Britain's authority and it was the first to establish its own state constitution. Six months later, it became one of the original 13 states that founded the United States of America, and in June 1788 it was the ninth state to ratify the Constitution, bringing that document into effect.
Concord is the state capital, while Manchester is the largest city in the state. It has no general sales tax, nor is personal income (other than interest and dividends) taxed at either the state or local level. It is known for the New Hampshire primary, the first primary in the U.S. presidential election cycle. Its license plates carry the state motto, "Live Free or Die". The motto comes from a statement written by the Revolutionary War general John Stark, hero of the Battle of Bennington. The state's nickname, "The Granite State", refers to its extensive granite formations and quarries.
The 2001 New Hampshire 300 was a NASCARWinston Cup race held at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The race was originally scheduled for September 16, but was postponed to November 23 due to the September 11 attacks of that year. New Hampshire was the season finale as a result.
Summary
NASCAR did not want to cancel the event, but there were no scheduled off weeks from the September 16 date, so NASCAR's only option was November 23–25, the Thanksgiving weekend. The postponement would be a challenge for Goodyear, as they were not expecting a New Hampshire race in November. Goodyear brought a tire they hoped would suit the cold conditions. NBC carried the broadcast live except for the Pacific Coast, which was on tape delay to allow the third hour of Today.
The race saw Robby Gordon, driving the #31 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, pick up his first career win. The race was also known to be the last race to have 42 cars or less until the 2014 Quaker State 400, with both races having 42 cars. 14% of this race was held under caution flag while the average green flag run was considered to be 32 laps.
New Hampshire Motor Speedway opened on June 5, 1990, as a four-turn oval track, 1.058 miles (1.703km) long. The track's turns are banked at two to seven degrees, while the front stretch, the finish line, and the back stretch are banked at one degree and are 1,500 feet in length. The track has a grandstand seating capacity of 93,521 spectators.Kasey Kahne was the defending race winner.
The Hampshire or Hampshire Down is a breed of sheep which originated around 1829 from a cross of Southdowns with the Old Hampshire breed, the Wiltshire Horn, and the Berkshire Nott, all horned, white-faced sheep — these were native to the open, untilled, hilly stretch of land known as the Hampshire Downs.
History
John Twynam, a Hampshire farmer, crossed his then-Hampshire flock with Cotswold rams in around 1829. The resultant half-bred rams were compact and blocky animals and from around 1835 were sold into six or more of what were to become the first recognised pedigree Hampshire Down flocks in the United Kingdom.
The Southdowns had long dark brown or black legs, matured early, produced the best of mutton and a fine quality of medium wool. The original Hampshire was larger, coarser, but hardier, slower to mature, with inferior flesh, and a longer but coarser wool. The Southdown had always been remarkable for its power of transmitting its special characteristics to its progeny by other kinds of sheep, and hence it soon impressed its own characteristics on its progeny by the Hampshire. The horns of the original breed have disappeared; the face and legs have become dark, the frame has become more compact, the bones smaller, the back broader and straighter, the legs shorter, and the flesh and wool of better quality, while the superior hardiness and greater size, as well as the large head and Roman nose of the old breed, still remain. Hampshires of the 1890s matured early and fattened readily. They clipped from six to seven pounds of wool, suitable for combing, which was longer than Southdown wool, but less fine.
Hampshire is a station on the Port Authority of Allegheny County's light rail network, located in the Beechview neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The street level stop is located on a small island platform in the middle of Broadway Avenue, through which The T travels along former streetcar tracks. The station serves a densely populated residential area and also the neighborhood's small but crowded business district. It is located in an area where bus service is limited because of the hilly terrain.

As Election Day for the 2024 U.S. Presidential race unfolds, the country watches closely as Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump make their final appeals to voters. Both candidates are focusing heavily on swing states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Michigan, where small voter shifts could determine the election outcome. Early voting has seen record participation, underscoring the high stakes and deep voter engagement. With polls indicating a tight race, the final hours of campaigning are intensifying, highlighting key issues like inflation, healthcare, and national security.
According to a new poll, Donald Trump is leading in all swing states. The seven swing states could hold the key to the final results and the poll’s outcome reflects a tight race in the November 5 election. The seven swing states are: Nevada, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Arizona.

We’ll answer those questions and talk about a lot more! So let’s hop in the car - but we don’t have to wear our belts! Cause we’re drive through and Unbox the state of New Hampshire!
Okay so this looks pretty charming. A neat little town tucked away into the forests. Before it got all screwed up. Of course, nowhere is perfect, and we’ll get to that, too.
New Hampshire sure doesn’t look like much, but it’s actually the 42nd most populous state. There’s actually big cities and stuff to do. I mean, it’s not ALL plaid flannel jacket wearing crotchety gun loving forest dwellers.
It’s beautiful. It’s safe. Kinda boring and very independent. To get a well-rounded view of this state, we need to look at the whole place and then visit each different area. Then we’ll know what New Hampshire is REALLY like.
This is New Hampshire. As you can see, most of the state is heavily forested with small towns scattered throughout, and most of the population and entertainment is on the southern end of the state. But we’re going to begin up here first. Northern New Hampshire is kinda like Alabama with snow.

Okay so this looks pretty charming. A neat little town tucked away into the forests. The kind of place where they know your coffee order by heart, and where you can probably get all the local gossip from the maple syrup guy. This is the REAL America, mister.

Watch live as the first votes are cast on Election Day 2024 in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire.
Will Americans choose to return Republican Donald Trump to the White House? Or will voters elect Democrat Kamala Harris to be the nation's first female president?
#trump #kamalaharris #news #election2024
The first ballot has been cast in the US for the 2024 Presidential elections in New Hampshire's small township of Dixville Notch. Dixville Notch becomes the first place in the US to cast a ballot as the country goes into elections on November 5 and November 6. The township is located along the US-Canada border and sits at the northern tip of New Hampshire. It opened and closed its poll just after midnight ET in a tradition that dates back to 1960, CNN reported.
The place saw a split decision, recording three votes for Kamala Harris and three for former US President Donald Trump. This is in line with the national trends predicted for the two leaders through various polls in the country.

As Election Day kicked off, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump were tied in the first official votes cast in New Hampshire's midnight voting. The early results, though symbolic, set the stage for what is expected to be a highly competitive race in the key swing state. With both candidates neck-and-neck, New Hampshire remains a critical battleground in the 2024 presidential election.
