Chicago Park (formerly: Storm's Station) is an unincorporated community in Nevada County, California, United States, along State Route 174 southeast of Grass Valley, California, and north of Colfax, California.
The town was settled by first-generation Italian-Americans who immigrated to the area from Chicago, Illinois. Alternately, it was named by Paul Ullrich and a group of German settlers from Illinois in the 1880s.
In 1915, J.F. Siems' Mountain Bartlett Pears from his Chicago Park orchard won first prize at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco.

Sly Park (formerly, Park) is an unincorporated community in El Dorado County, California. It is located in Sly Valley 13 miles (21 km) east of Placerville, at an elevation of 3560 feet (1085 m).
A post office operated at Sly Park from 1891 to 1919, with several moves. The name honors James Sly, one of the Mormons who discovered Sly Valley.
"Chicago" is a song by American recording artist Michael Jackson. The song was originally recorded during the Invincible recording sessions under the name "She Was Lovin' Me". A reworked version of the song was included in Jackson's posthumous album Xscape.
It was first revealed that "Chicago" would be the first release from the Xscape album. However, plans changed and "Love Never Felt So Good" became the debut release instead.
The song was released on May 5, 2014 on Sony Entertainment Network as a promotional single for promoting Xscape.
The song's "Papercha$er Remix" was made available for select Sony customers through Xperia Lounge and Music Unlimited as Track 9 of the standard edition.
Chicago (sometimes referred to as Chicago II) is the second studio album by Chicago-based American rock band Chicago. It was released in 1970 after the band had shortened its name from The Chicago Transit Authority following the release of their same-titled debut album the previous year.
Although the official title of the album is Chicago, it came to be retroactively known as Chicago II, keeping it in line with the succession of Roman numeral-titled albums that officially began with Chicago III in 1971.
While The Chicago Transit Authority was a success, Chicago is considered by many to be Chicago's breakthrough album, yielding a number of Top 40 hits, including "Make Me Smile" (#9), "Colour My World" (#7), and "25 or 6 to 4" (#4). The centerpiece of the album was the thirteen-minute song cycle "Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon". Guitarist Terry Kath also participated in an extended classically styled cycle of four pieces, three of which were co-written by the well-known, arranger, composer, and pianist Peter Matz. The politically outspoken keyboardist Robert Lamm also tackles his qualms with "It Better End Soon", another modular piece. Bassist Peter Cetera, later to play a crucial role in the band's music, contributed his first song to Chicago and this album, "Where Do We Go From Here".
The Box is a five-CD/one DVD career-spanning box set by popular American group Chicago and was compiled and released through Rhino Records in 2003. The set was authorized by the band, which helped choose material from its entire back catalogue.
The box includes material from every studio album released by the band since its 1969 debut The Chicago Transit Authority to its late 1990s recordings, along with a few rarities, notably three songs from the then-unreleased 1993 Stone of Sisyphus project. Every charting single from 1969 to 2003 is included, with the exception of the 1986 remake of the band's earlier hit, "25 or 6 to 4."
An additional DVD sports rare live recordings from 1972 and promotional material for 1979's Chicago 13. The set also includes a booklet of additional material featuring track-by-track analysis, promotional photos, essays and variations on the familiar Chicago logo.
The set did not chart in the US or the UK.
Features live material from 1972 and promotional videos for Chicago 13 in 1979.
"California" is a song written by Joni Mitchell that first appeared on her 1971 album Blue. It was also released as the second single from the album, as a follow-up to "Carey."
Mitchell wrote "California" while living in France but longing for the creative climate she had experienced in California. In the song she expresses the depth of her longing for California by singing that if she was back in California she would even be willing to kiss a policeman, despite considering herself a member of the counterculture. Like "Carey", "California" takes the form of a travelogue and uses a stream of consciousness narrative technique.Pitchfork critic Jessica Hopper describes both songs as "how-Joni-got-her-groove-back ditties". The lyrics tell of her time in France, a trip she took to Spain and an excursion to a Greek island. At the end of each story in each location she expresses her desire to be back in California. The character that "Carey" was based on also appears in the second verse of "California". According to author Larry David Smith, Mitchell uses the descriptions in "California" as a strategy to demonstrate "principles associated with the Earth Mother manifesto."
101 California Street is a 48-story office skyscraper completed in 1982 in the Financial District of San Francisco, California. The 183 m (600 ft) tower, providing 1,250,000 sq ft (116,000 m2) of office space, is bounded by California, Davis, Front, and Pine Streets near Market Street.
The faceted cylindrical tower features a seven story, glass enclosed lobby and a granite plaza with flower beds and a fountain. The building's entrance is very similar to that of 101 Park Avenue in New York City, and was also designed by Philip Johnson and John Burgee in 1982.
101 California is equipped with a total of thirty-two elevators, with twenty-two serving the tower; two serving floors 45 through 48; four serving the triangular annex building; two serving the garage; and two for freight. The eight stairwells throughout the building are intended for emergency use only.
The building is the site of what has become known as the 101 California Street shootings, a mass murder which occurred there in 1993. On July 1, Gian Luigi Ferri, a disgruntled client of the law firm Pettit & Martin, entered their offices on the 34th floor and killed eight people and wounded six before killing himself. The event was a catalyst in the passage of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, a drive initiated by California Senator Dianne Feinstein to ban assault weapons. A terraced garden in the plaza in front of the building is now dedicated to the victims.
