The Central Military Commission (CMC) (simplified Chinese:中央军事委员会; traditional Chinese:中央軍事委員會; pinyin:Zhōngyāng Jūnshì Wěiyuánhuì) refers to the parallel national defense organizations of the Communist Party of China and the People's Republic of China: the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China (simplified Chinese: 中国共产党中央军事委员会), a Party organ of the CPC Central Committee, and the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China (simplified Chinese: 中华人民共和国中央军事委员会), a State organ of the central government.

Why is China reforming its military headquarters?
China on Monday announced major military reforms, reorganizing the structure of its military headquarters into 15 new agencies under the direct authority of the Central Military Commission (CMC). Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said that the changes unify the leadership of the CMC and ensure the Communist Party of China's (CPC) absolute leadership over the armed forces. “It will help the CMC to implement strategy and management, as well as restrain and supervise power,” he said.

China Promotes Military Anti graft Chief to General
China's Central Military Commission (CMC) on Thursday promoted one senior military officer to the rank of general, the highest rank for officers in active service in China.
At the promotion ceremony, CMC chairman Xi Jinping, also Chinese President and general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, presented the officer Zhang Shengmin with certificate of command, shook hands with him and extended his congratulations.
Zhang Shengmin is a member of the CMC and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the CMC.
Xu Qiliang, CMC vice chairman, announced the order of promotion signed by Xi. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Youxia, also CMC vice chairman.

Xu Qiliang and Zhang Youxia were endorsed as vice chairmen of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China at the annual session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) Sunday morning.
Nearly 3,000 NPC deputies voted to approve the nomination by Xi Jinping, chairman of the CMC of the People's Republic of China.
Wei Fenghe, Li Zuocheng, Miao Hua and Zhang Shengmin were endorsed as the CMC members after Xi's nomination was approved by the national lawmakers.
The new CMC vice chairmen and members pledged allegiance to the country's Constitution upon assuming office on Sunday.

China on Monday announced major military reforms, reorganizing the structure of its military headquarters into 15 new agencies under the direct authority of the Central Military Commission (CMC). Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said that the changes unify the leadership of the CMC and ensure the Communist Party of China's (CPC) absolute leadership over the armed forces. “It will help the CMC to implement strategy and management, as well as restrain and supervise power,” he said.

China's Central Military Commission (CMC) on Thursday promoted one senior military officer to the rank of general, the highest rank for officers in active service in China.
At the promotion ceremony, CMC chairman Xi Jinping, also Chinese President and general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, presented the officer Zhang Shengmin with certificate of command, shook hands with him and extended his congratulations.
Zhang Shengmin is a member of the CMC and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the CMC.
Xu Qiliang, CMC vice chairman, announced the order of promotion signed by Xi. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Youxia, also CMC vice chairman.
