Charles Milles Manson (born Charles Milles Maddox, November 12, 1934) is an American criminal who led what became known as the Manson Family, a quasi-commune that arose in the California desert in the late 1960s. Manson and his followers committed a series of nine murders at four locations over a period of five weeks in the summer of 1969. In 1971 he was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders of seven people: actress Sharon Tate and four other people at Tate's home; and the next day, a married couple, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca; all carried out by members of the group at his instruction. He was convicted of the murders through the joint-responsibility rule, which makes each member of a conspiracy guilty of crimes committed by fellow conspirators in furtherance of the conspiracy's objective. His followers also murdered several other people at other times and locations, and Manson was also convicted for two of these other murders (of Gary Hinman and Donald "Shorty" Shea).
"Never Learn Not to Love" is a song recorded by the Beach Boys, credited to co-founder Dennis Wilson. It was released as a B-side to their 1968 single "Bluebirds over the Mountain" and subsequently appeared on their 1969 album 20/20. It is a rewrite of "Cease to Exist", a song written by murder-conspirator Charles Manson.
Composition
Before the album commenced recording, Dennis had befriended a musician named Charles Manson, prior to Manson's role in the Helter Skelter murders, and decided to help him in the music industry by recording his "Cease to Exist", which was reportedly written by Manson for the group. The song was reworked by Dennis Wilson for the Beach Boys, some of the lyrics were changed, and the music and melody was rewritten with less of a blues influence. Part of the lyrical revisions included changing the opening lyric from, "Cease to exist" to "Cease to resist", which resulted in the title's being changed to "Never Learn Not to Love". Manson explicitly told Wilson the words were not to be altered, though he could do what he liked with the music (the basic melody was left largely unchanged). When "Never Learn Not to Love" was first released by the Beach Boys as a B-side in late 1968, and credited solely to Dennis Wilson—with altered lyrics and a new bridge—Manson threatened Wilson with murder. According to Brian's collaborator Van Dyke Parks, when Manson once showed up to make good on his threat, Dennis beat him up. The Manson incident gave everyone a scare in the Beach Boys' camp—especially after Manson's well-known crimes came to light.
Cease to Exist is the first single by American deathcore band Suicide Silence from their fourth studio album, You Can't Stop Me. It was released on May 6, 2014.
Release
The song became available for online streaming on May 5, 2014. The song was released as a digital single the next day with a lyric video being released as well. The song was performed live for the first time at Rock Am Ring 2014 on June 6, 2014.

Inside Charles Manson's crazed cult | 60 Minutes Australia
It's been fifty years since Charles Manson and his band of deluded devotees, most of them young women, went on their murderous rampage. Manson, who lived as the embodiment of insanity, died in prison. But as Tara Brown reports, three of the other perpetrators are still alive and one, Leslie Van Houten, could walk free from jail in the next few weeks. Van Houten claims that after half a century behind bars she deserves her release because she’s a reformed woman. However, that assurance holds little weight for the loved ones of the victims. Debra Tate, the younger sister of Sharon Tate, the beautiful Hollywood actress slain by the Manson family, tells Brown how she has devoted her life to ensuring her sister’s killers are never released.

Charles Manson's first prison interview | 60 Minutes Australia
In the late 1960's Charles Manson led a small, fanatical cult on a self-styled war against society. He and several female followers were convicted of at least seven murders, including actress Sharon Tate - then eight months pregnant. The world was shocked not just by the cruelty of the crimes but the robot-like behaviour of Manson's 'family' during their trial. For many, the only comfort was the thought that Manson would be put away for life. That's why this 1981 interview caused such a stir. Not only do we see Manson, cold and unrepentant - but we hear his thoughts on gaining parole and getting out of prison 'to play like a human'.

The Beach Boys - Never Learn Not To Love (DJ L33 Extended Remix and Music Video)
This was quite a project. This is one of my favorite songs featuring Denny so I had to do this. This song is Never Learn Not To Love from the Beach Boys 1968 album 20 / 20. EDIT - YOUTUBE IS BEING STRANGE AGAIN. It detected a 1 minute section of video was something it isn't. I had to blur it for now. It was fine before. I will upload it again later once the algorithm is updated.
I felt inspired to do it while listening to a the 20 / 20 sessions. The brilliant instrumental remastering that Mark Linett did of this song made me think both the instrumental and acapella should be used in a new remix! That’s when I thought about how I always wished the song was a bit longer. Once I set everything up I realized some of the isolated harmonies were so much more beautiful than you realize...

Once I set everything up I realized some of the isolated harmonies were so much more beautiful than you realize on the main version. Plus I thought it would be awesome to make an outro at the end feel a bit Beatles-Hey-Judish but with that Beach Boys feel.
This was very fun in terms of having a stimulating mix plan up front, however when I used elements of the album version with the recent remastered acapella and instrumental, I realized I was going to have to remaster the album version greatly to match it with Linett’s brilliant instrumental remaster. That took quite some time trying to match the mastering convincingly. The panning and clarity of each instrument and stereo width was so much better! Once I finally matched it, I started remixing all 3 elements into something new. At the end the entire thing got a little mastering ‘polish.’
I cleaned up the intro sound effect from background noise, and gave it a break 0:26 for dramatic effect when Denny starts singing. I added a bridge that wasn’t there before but exposed those beautiful harmonies and instrumentation at 1:45. I also eliminated the instrumentation and left the vocals exposed at 2:08. At the end 2:52 I created an extended bridge that uses Denny’s lead vocals in a round-about fashion. Not only is there an additional vocal part in every other bar, but the effect on his voice on that layer is different from the album vocal and gives it a more ‘second vocal’ feel. There’s actually a vocal octave above and below what he’s singing if you were to listen to that vocal layer on it’s own. The fade out at 3:20 in a delayed fashion to me sounded addictive, which is what I always like. Just like Mike would write the lyrical hooks, I totally get how Brian would experiment till there were little instrumental hooks all over the place. Brilliance when you put the 2 together.
Moving on to the video, my friend John sent me a copy of a live performance of the song on TV. I then cleaned it up as much as possible for now, cropping off tape banding, denoising, color saturation, sharpening, brightness / contrast and more. At the tail end the entire thing was upscaled to 720p HD so that YouTube’s new video conversion they use when they post it, doesn’t degrade scenes with a lot of motion in 480p SD. I wish they hadn’t changed it. SD used to upload and post much clearer than it does now.
The opening video footage I learned how to make video slow down to an insanely slow rate without stuttering by making my software draw in the missing frames! I then took that knowledge further and made it creepy. The opening sound effect sounds like a horror movie, so I took Beach Boy footage from that era (Brian and Carl), slowed it down and made the frames morph scene transitions in a nightmarish morph and haze like in a movie. Then Brian looks up and the light of waking up from it all leads into a pause and the song starts.
Once the song starts you will notice a wooden board with 4 circles 0:29 . In the original video the entire first verse wasn’t performed live. The video usually starts with the lower right blue circle 0:55 opening up and showing the band starting to perform the song. I instead mimicked what they were doing and opened up the top left yellow circle and placed footage inside; making the footage LOOK LIKE they’re singing the first verse! That took quite a bit of work.
At 2:07 I isolate the audio to vocals only, so in order to make the video correspond I created a spotlight effect that eliminated CARL WHO WAS PLAYING THE DRUMS!!! So that it looks like they’re singing a capella. I used some era correct lettering to bring Denny’s lyrics at that moment scroll across the screen to use the black space on the screen.
In order to sync the video to the new arrangement I used some psychedelic era scene transitions for eg at 1:46 that look like it was always there.
At the end I had to loop similar footage to match my new audio outro. In order to make it interesting I used some more psychedelic effects like streaming light from behind Denny and the guys, which gives Denny in particular almost an angelic appearance in one segment…which almost pays visual tribute to the fact we lost him way too soon.
Enjoy.

Why was Charles Manson so good at convincing people to follow him?
Today we will talk about serial killing again, but this show is different because our protagonist wasn’t the person who committed the murders. He was behind them, though, as the leader of a cult called The Manson Family. Some cults, although sometimes regarded by authorities as suspect, go about their days in peace. Others are not so benign.
Today we’ll look at one cult only, in this episode of the Infographics Show, Horrific American Cult Leader - Charles Manson.’
