carbon tetrachloride
(tetrachloromethane, carbon tet, Halon-104, Refrigerant-10)
A chemical compound with the chemical formula CCl4. It is a colourless liquid with a "sweet" smell that can be detected at low levels.
It serves as a source of chlorine in the Appel reaction, an organic reaction that converts an alcohol into an alkyl chloride using P(C6H5)3 (triphenylphosphine) and CCl4.
It was widely used as an ingredient in fire extinguishers, a dry cleaning solvent, a refrigerant, a fumigant to kill insect pests in stored grain, and a key ingredient in lava lamps, where it adds weight to the otherwise buoyant wax.
However, it is banned worldwide for use that is involved in its emission due to the ozone-depleting property.
It is a suspected human carcinogen or "possibly carcinogenic as IARC group 2B.
It is a...

Carbon Tetrachloride from Old Fire Extinguishers
This is a relatively simple way to get carbon tetrachloride. Carbon tet is very expensive and difficult to acquire, this is a much cheaper method to get carbon tet. This carbon tet can be purified further with several other purification methods if a higher quality is desired. Large metal extinguishers have a better carbon tet content vs price compared to the pressurized cannister (and smaller metal extinguishers most likely). If the seal is still on you can pretty much know for sure that it hasn't been used and there is still carbon tet in there. You can ask any seller if they hear liquid moving around in it, since it should be pretty obvious. Unveiling the Secret Reaction: How to Make Carbon Tetrachloride!
The synthesis of carbon tetrachloride using household materials. Using bleach and acetone, chloroform is synthesized and then undergoes a photochlorination reaction to form carbon tetrachloride. Carbon tetrachloride is a toxic substance that is generally no longer used as there are plenty of less harmful alternatives.

Mixing Sodium and Chlorinated Solvents is Real Bad (Carbon Tetrachloride and Sodium)
All safety documents say to never mix sodium and solvents like dichloromethane. Why is that? Who is Staudinger and what's he warning us against? We misuse and craft carcinogens to find out.

It is a well-known hepatotoxin widely used to induce acute toxic liver injury in a wide range of laboratory animals. It induces oxidative damage, inflammation, fatty degeneration, and fibrosis in the liver. NF-κB is activated in the liver after CCl4 administration.

There are many different brands, while i was searching around i made a list for easier searching since the second hand sites search engines (and people's descriptions) won't show you all of them with 1 search. It also varies by country, USA will probably have more options.
