EVERYONE was Catching! Cape Cod Canal NONSTOP Action
The Cape Cod Canal is a world famous Striped Bass fishery that essentially exploits the long, curved, shape of the State of Massachusetts. Rather than go all the way around the edge of MA, fish would much rather cut through the canal and save themselves thousands of miles in their migration up north every year. As a result this gives fishermen the opportunity to catch ENORMOUS fish from land. In this video I give a quick breakdown of a very lively morning I had in which the fishing was nonstop. I fished from sunrise to late morning with my friends Bob and Albert, and we ended up getting pushed out due to heavy foot traffic later on in the video...enjoy!

The History of the Cape Cod Canal | Connecting Point | Jan. 13, 2022
Each year, hundreds of thousands of vacationers cross over the Cape Cod Canal using one of three bridges. For decades, the steel structures have been a staple of daily life – for both Cape Codders and the visitors that flock to the area’s beaches.
But the bridges there now are not the original structures. And the canal that people cross today for a day at one of the many beaches on Cape Cod is much different from that one that first opened in 1914.
Producer Dave Fraser takes us on a journey to explore the history of the Cape Cod Canal.

Shore JIGGING GIANT SWIMBAITS! *Stripers & Bluefish In CAPE COD CANAL*
EXTREME JIGGING WITH SWIMBAITS IN THE CAPE COD CANAL //
On this episode of Abenz Fishing we are jigging the Cape Cod Canal for stripers and bluefish. The Cape Cod Canal may be one of the most extreme land based jigging spots. The combination of ripping tides, extreme depths, harsh terrain, the fishery and more make it something truly unique.
The Cape Cod Canal is one of the most sought after land based striped bass destinations. The canal can yield striped bass up to 50 lbs and has been home to some of the most insane striped bass blitzes for decades. The Cape Cod Canal is not for the feint of heart and is an intimidating landscape.

The BEST Day Ever at the Cape Cod Canal - fishing with my friends, a group of 9 of us all landed big, quality striped bass! We started at the West End and chased the stripers the length of the Canal!
Special thanks to all of the group for contributing videos and images to help make this video!
A number of things combined together to make this the BEST Day Ever (for me) at the Canal:
1. I was fishing with a great group of guys, almost my entire circle of Canal fishing friends, sharing this morning with all of them made it so much better!
2. Everyone in the crew landed quality fish and numerous fish!
3. We landed fish on jigs and top water!
4. The action was non-stop from when it really got going through the morning!
5. The chase was on - we were able to follow the fish the length of the Canal which made the adventure all the more fun!
The crew included: Rob, Mike, Oscar (@oskee007striperlife), Aurelio (@lefteyelures7513), Chet (@ChetZingg), Chad (@Knight-fishing), Jeff (@bloodlinefishingadventuresllc), Danny & me. We arrived early to our planned location and locked down a nice spot. We did have to contend with a big crowd, numerous crossed lines and hang ups, but with a big group we were able to establish a good rotation which led to us all catching fish. As the bite started to die down at the West End we then started moving, staying with the fish. We stopped at various spots and someone from the group landed fish at each spot we stopped. It made for a fun morning of cruising down the Canal on our bikes.
The bite started down low with jigs, including some nice fish in close, but then as the tide turned the mackerel scattered and a top water explosion led to hours of working pencil poppers and catching fish. ALL of the top water fish I landed were on my trusty Left Eye Lures white, flat bottom pencil popper coming in at 7" and 3.5oz.
Rod 1: ODM Jigster, 11', 4-10oz
Reel 1: Shimano Saragossa 14K
Rod 2: TFO 10'6", 2-6oz
Reel 2: Penn Slammer III 6500
Line: Pro Power braid 65lb
Leader: Seagar floro 60lb
Lures: Left Eye Lures, flat bottom pencil popper, 7", 3.5oz, white & Savage Sand Eel, 5.33oz, green mac
Belt: ZBelt
Bag: Zbelt
Hat: Tilley (it floats!)
Shirt/ Pants: Columbia
Footwear: Korkers w/triple threat spikes

On this episode of Abenz Fishing we start out Cape Cod series off with a BANG - I recently spent two weeks in Cape Cod, MA - I used to live there for the better part of 4 years and I spent every waking minute on the Cape Cod Canal.

#CapeCod crams in more salty goodness than a jumbo-serving of clam chowder. While
you may be tempted to try to devour the entire Cape in one #vacation, we suggest you
explore it in bite-sized chunks, one #visit at a time. And if you’re worried that you may
never return, rest assured there’s plenty of truth in the local saying, “once a Cape
Codder, always a Cape Codder.” So join us now as we sample the natural, historical
