The District of Cannock Chase wards of Anglesey, Broomhill, Cannock South, Chadsmoor, Heath Hayes, Longford, Norton Canes, Parkside, Pye Green Valley, and Rawnsley, and the District of Lichfield wards of All Saints, Boney Hay, Chase Terrace, Chasetown, Hammerwich, Highfield, Redslade, and Summerfield.
Cannock was called Chenet in the Domesday Book of 1086. It was called Chnoc c.1130, Cnot in 1156, Canot in 1157, and Canoc in 1198. Cannock is probably Old English cnocc meaning 'hillock', modified by Norman pronunciation by the insertion of a vowel to Canoc. The name may refer to Shoal Hill, north-west of the town.
1918-1950: The Urban Districts of Brownhills, Cannock, and Tettenhall, the Rural District of Seisdon (the civil parishes of Bobbington, Codsall, Enville, Himley, Kinver, Lower Penn, Patshull, Pattingham, Swindon, Trysull and Seisdon, Upper Penn, Wombourne, and Wrottesley), in the Rural District of Cannock the civil parishes of Bushbury, Choslyn Hay, Essington, Great Wyrley, and Hilton, and in the Rural District of Walsall the civil parish of Bentley.
1950-1974: The Urban Districts of Cannock and Wednesfield, and the Rural District of Cannock (the civil parishes of Acton Trussell and Bednall, Blymhill, Brewood, Cheslyn Hay, Coppenhall, Dunston, Essington, Featherstone, Great Wyrley, Hatherton, Hilton, Huntington, Lapley, Penkridge, Saredon, Shareshill, Stretton, Teddesley Hay, and Weston-under-Lizard).
Burntwood is a town in Staffordshire, England, approximately 4 miles (6km) west of Lichfield. The town had a population of 26,049 at the time of the 2011 census and forms part of Lichfield district. The town forms one of the largest urbanised parishes in England. Samuel Johnson opened an academy in nearby Edial in 1736. The town is home to the smallest park in the UK, Prince's park, which is located next to Christ Church on the junction of Farewell Lane and Church Road. The town expanded in the nineteenth century around the coal mining industry.
In September 2009 it was announced that a Burntwood man, Terry Herbert, had discovered a hoard of Saxon treasure with a metal detector in a field in the adjoining village of Hammerwich. Known as the Staffordshire Hoard, it is the largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold yet found.

British Cryptids: The Woodwose Of Cannock Chase
"Towards the end of the 13th century, a large part of Cannock Forest in the English Midlands was cleared and hunting rights granted to The Bishop of Lichfield. In November 1292, Roger de Meyland led a hunting party across what was now known as Cannock Chase. He had no reason to suspect that, along with the deer and a dwindling population of wild boar, there was another large creature that avoided human contact. Hidden in the bracken, something was watching. Something feral, ferocious and utterly savage…"

Produced in 1974, the British Cryptids films were presumably destined to be sold to a UK broadcaster - either BBC or ITV - but they seem to only have been shown at schools and ended up languishing in public libraries.
Sadly, the video files recovered from the Internet Archive (which no longer seem to be online) were of poor quality and incomplete. The fragments are presented here as we found them. We leave it to the viewer to imagine what may be missing.
Amongst the titles we were able to acquire are: ‘Yorkshire Yeti’, ‘Hereford Twiggywitch’, ‘Stag Men’, ’Souter Sea Wolf’ and ‘The Cumbrian Dregpike’, but the catalogue numbers on each film suggest that there could be many more.

Who Can I Vote For?: Cannock Chase
The UK General Election in 2024 uses the new electoral boundaries. Only 65 of the 650 seats are staying the same. Some seats are new, while some are abolished. In these videos we look at why boundaries are changing, a summary of the new constituency including demographics and geography, how the population of the new constituency is formed from the old seats. Then we get into the politics. We present the results for each of the constituencies in 2019, then look at the trends for the main seat that is being replaced. For the main seat, we look who won, who came second, and the majority. We look at the graph of the vote share for the last 4 elections. Oldbury and Halesowen (UK Parliament constituency)
Oldbury and Halesowen was a parliamentary constituency in the West Midlands, which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1950 until it was abolished for the February 1974 general election.
It was created from the eastern section of the Stourbridge constituency, which was reduced substantially in size, as a result of the recent population growth in both Oldbury and Halesowen.
It was then partly replaced by the new Halesowen and Stourbridge constituency, with the Oldbury area becoming part of Warley West.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills

- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

Then we list the final list of candidates and make a prediction for the 2024 winner based on predictions using an optimistic scenario and a bad day for the Conservatives.
Data is from the UK Parliament, ONS, and Who Can I Vote For?
North Shropshire is a constituency which was represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 1997 by Owen Paterson, a Conservative. Paterson resigned his seat on 4 November 2021, when faced with the possibility of a suspension from the Commons for a breach of advocacy rules and the consequent possibility of a recall petition. As a result, a by-election will be called.
Sky's Sam Coates takes a look at which Tory MPs could be out of a job after the upcoming General Election.
The first polling projection by YouGov since the election was called shows Labour heading for an historic 194-seat majority - its biggest in 100 years.

Birmingham Erdington is a parliamentary constituency in Birmingham, England. As of January 2022, it is vacant after the death of Jack Dromey on 7 January 2022, and a by-election will be held in due course.
