The Canadian Society of Forensic Science (CSFS) is a professional association aimed at maintaining professional standards and promoting and enhancing the study and stature of forensic science. Membership in the society is open internationally to professionals with an active interest in the forensic sciences.
History
The CSFS was founded on October 16, 1953 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The founding members were William Wallace Sutherland, Charles George Farmilo, James Alexander Churchman, Blake B. Coldwell, and Leo Levi. The society officially became a non-profit corporation on April 10, 1963 with the signing of the Letters Patent under the authority of the Companies Act.
Present structure
The CSFS has an Executive Committee consisting of elected Officials and a Board of Directors. In addition there are several standing and special committees, including Awards, Finance, Membership, Nominating, Publication, Accreditation, Alcohol Test, Constitution, Drugs and Driving, and Informatics/Education.

Endo Repair of Nasal CSF Leak (Brain Fluid Runny Nose)
This video shows how surgery is performed endoscopically to stop CSF fluid from draining out of the nose. Normally, brain fluid is clear like water, but for surgical correction, it is bright green due to fluorescein dye that is injected into the spine prior to surgery. This endoscopic procedure was performed by Dr. Philip Chen at UT Health Science Center San Antonio. http://uthscsa.edu/oto/chen.asp
Please note that although Fauquier ENT can certainly help diagnose a CSF leak from the nose (or ear), surgical correction will typically require a referral to a tertiary care center.

CSF functions as a protective barrier against chemical and mechanical damage, as well as helping with the exchange of nutrients and waste substances between nervous tissue and the blood.

The cerebrospinal fluid or CSF is the liquid that bathes the central nervous system (the brain and the spinal cord).
The CSF ensures:
- The protection of the central nervous system against mechanical shocks and vibrations.
- it plays an important role in the regulation of intracranial pressure.
- It participates in the cerebral metabolic processes by regulating the exchange of substances. and, provides many other functions as well.
The CSF circulates in two different compartments:
- The first is the inner brain ependymal cavities or ventricles,
- the second is the compartment surrounding the central nervous system, it corresponds to the sub-arachnoid space.
The CSF is secreted by the choroid plexus: clusters of capillary blood vessels located in the ventricular system.
The ventricular system consists of four ventricles connected by many channels.
It is connected to the central canal of the spinal cord.
There are two lateral ventricles, occupying the center of the cerebral hemispheres. Both are connected to the third ventricle at the center of the diencephalon by the foramina of Monro.
The third ventricle is connected to the fourth ventricle in the brainstem by the aqueduct of Sylvius.
The CSF will leave the fourth ventricle through the foramen of Magendie to fill the sub-arachnoid space between the pia mater and the arachnoid.
The CSF is then absorbed at the top of the skull by the arachnoid granulations of Pakioni.

Following are the things discussed in this video.
