Bruce Rowland (b. May 9, 1942 in Melbourne) is a well-known Australian composer. He composed the soundtrack for the 1982 movie The Man from Snowy River, as well as the soundtrack for its 1988 sequel The Man from Snowy River II (which has the United States title of Return to Snowy River, and the United Kingdom title of The Untamed). Both films were based on Banjo Paterson's poem The Man from Snowy River. His other film scores include Now and Forever (1983), Phar Lap (1983), Bushfire Moon (1987), Cheetah (1989), Weekend with Kate (1990), Gross Misconduct (1993), Andre (1994), Lightning Jack (1994), Zeus and Roxanne (1997) and the TV movie Tidal Wave: No Escape (1997).
He composed a special Olympics version of the main theme of The Man from Snowy River Suite, as well as conducting the orchestra, for the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 Summer Olympics which were held in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
He also composed special arrangements of some of his music for the 2002 musical theatre production "The Man from Snowy River: Arena Spectacular" (which toured Australian capital cities — twice). The original cast album of the show won the ARIA Award for Best Cast / Show Album). In 2003, Bruce Rowland won the ARIA Award for his score for the musical
Bruce Rowland (22 May 1941 – 29 June 2015) was an English rock drummer best known for his memberships of The Grease Band and folk rock band Fairport Convention. He was also a prolific session musician.
Rowland was born at Park Royal, Middlesex, on 22 May 1941. In 1968, he played drums on the Wynder K. Frog album "Out of the Frying Pan", and in 1969 joined The Grease Band, who were then Joe Cocker's backing band. He played for Cocker's performance at the Woodstock Festival, on Cocker's second album, Joe Cocker!, and on the UK top ten hit single "Delta Lady".
In 1970, Cocker and the Grease Band parted company, and Rowland stayed with them for their albums "The Grease Band" (1971) and "Amazing Grease" During this period, Rowland also played session for Shawn Phillips, Andy Mackay, Jackie Lomax, Gallagher and Lyle, and others, also contributing drums to the original recording of Jesus Christ Superstar. He spent some time with Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance, including his solo debut album, Anymore for Anymore, and the Lane/Ronnie Wood soundtrack album Mahoney's Last Stand before becoming a full-time sessionist.
The Centre (Chinese: 中環中心) is the fifth tallest skyscraper in Hong Kong, after International Commerce Centre, Two International Finance Centre (88 storeys), Central Plaza and Bank of China Tower. With a height of 346 m (1,135 ft), it comprises 73 stories. The Centre is one of the few skyscrapers in Hong Kong that is entirely steel-structured with no reinforced concrete core. It is located on Queen's Road Central in the Central and Western District, roughly halfway between the MTR Island Line's Sheung Wan and Central stations.
The Centre is notable for its arrangement of hundreds of neon lights arranged as bars in increasing frequency towards the top of the building, which slowly scroll through the colours of the spectrum at night. During the Christmas season, the building's neon arrangement follows a festive motif and resembles a Christmas tree.
The direct translation of the Chinese name of the building is "Central Centre" or the "centre of Central", even though the building is in fact near the boundary of Central and Sheung Wan (Wing Kut Street).
Windham Center Historic District is a 205-acre (83 ha) area in the town of Windham, Connecticut, that is designated as a historic district.
The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. At the time, it included 61 contributing buildings out of a total of 78 buildings, and it included 2 other contributing sites. One of the buildings in the district is the Original 1832 Greek Revival style Windham Bank building, which was converted to the Windham Free Library in 1896.
Windham Center is a village in the New England town of Windham in northeast Connecticut. The District is centered on a the village green. During the town's first 125 years, this district was the most thickly settled part of the surrounding area. The village was selected as the seat of Windham County, when the latter was created in 1726, and prospered from the legal activity around the courthouse that was constructed. In the following three decades Windham Center grew to be a prosperous administrative, commercial and agricultural center.
The 4400 Center is a fictional building in the science fiction TV series The 4400. According to a postcard in the Season 3 episode "Gone", the fictional location of the center is 6265 Crescent Road, Seattle, Washington. The same street address in Vancouver, British Columbia, is the address for the Chan Centre, the real-life building portrayed as the 4400 Center.
The 4400 Center was founded by Jordan Collier in between Seasons One and Two as a place where 4400s could take sanctuary and learn to harness their abilities, and where non-4400s could seek out the "inner" 4400 in themselves. A side-effect of non-4400s joining the scheme was that they brought a great deal of money into the center.
When Jordan was assassinated, Shawn Farrell (Jordan's "protégé") took over the operation of the center.
Characters in the show sometimes call the 4400 Center a cult. Dr Kevin Burkhoff ridiculed the center's "key" scheme, where students progressed through key stages by use of meditation, learning and a sizeable monetary investment. Shawn realised Burkhoff was correct and scrapped many of the useless programmes. He brought Burkhoff into the center and Dr Burkhoff eventually developed the promicin serum as extracted from Isabelle Tyler.
The Earth's inner core is the Earth's innermost part and according to seismological studies, it has been believed to be primarily a solid ball with a radius of about 1220 kilometers, or 760 miles (about 70% of the Moon's radius). However, with some recent studies, some geophysicists prefer to interpret the inner core not as a solid, but as a plasma behaving as a solid. It is believed to consist primarily of an iron–nickel alloy and to be approximately the same temperature as the surface of the Sun: approximately 5700 K (5400 °C).
The Earth was discovered to have a solid inner core distinct from its liquid outer core in 1936, by the seismologist Inge Lehmann, who deduced its presence by studying seismographs of earthquakes in New Zealand; she observed that the seismic waves reflect off the boundary of the inner core and can be detected by sensitive seismographs on the Earth's surface. This boundary is known as the Bullen discontinuity, or sometimes as the Lehmann discontinuity. A few years later, in 1940, it was hypothesized that this inner core was made of solid iron; its rigidity was confirmed in 1971.
In 1970 bassist Mark Polott toured with The Faces as a member of Haystacks Balboa. In 1974, bassist Steve Bingham joined Ronnie Lane’s Slim Chance following Lane’s departure from The Faces which also featured Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Kenny Jones, and Ian McLagan. From London and New York City, Steve and Mark recall their experiences with the late, genuinely great bassist, composer, recording-artist Ronald Frederick Lane and drummer Bruce Rowland of Slim Chance! Bruce Rowland is a world renown Australian composer who started his career playing keyboards on the Go Show in the 60's. He wrote thousands of jingles, thousands of songs for the 'Magic Circle Club', and has composed music for 46 films. Best known for composing the music for 'The Man from Snowy River' - and receiving an AFI award for it - Bruce also conducted the orchestra for the start of the Sydney Olympics. If you dream of a career in music and take all the right steps, and work really hard, you may just achieve half of what this great man has achieved. Brilliant interview Wendy. and awesome interview with Jeff Duff too Soozie! Also includes the new single from Russell Morris 'Van Diemen's Land', and the Iain Archibald band live with 'New Life'
The Grease Band was a British rock band that originally formed as Joe Cocker's backing group. They appeared with Cocker during the 1960s, including his performance at the Woodstock Festival in August 1969. The band's name derived from an interview Cocker had read with the American jazz organist Jimmy Smith, who had approvingly described another performer as having "a lot of grease", with "grease" referring to soul. After Cocker formed the Mad Dogs & Englishmen album band line-up, the group released two albums without him in the 1970s. Their keyboard player was Chris Stainton, who went on to tour extensively with Eric Clapton. Bassist Alan Spenner and rhythm guitarist Neil Hubbard went on to play in the UK blue-eyed soul band Kokomo; following this, Spenner worked in support of the late 19...

The humans living asking more and more
We just don't realize, but the world is full of
treasures
You find them in yourself
The humans are asking more and more
Don't realize, but the world is full of treasures
You find them in yourself
What is necessary for our times today?
We must not do the same mistake
We all live in this blue planet
We live with this blue planet together
I think like that in the place where a nostalgic wind
blows
When this place is gone
It means that we are lost
We're crying for the ideal that can not be thrown away
Our pleasure and sadness are in nature
We are born together, we share the time, and we die
What is necessary for our times today?
We must not do the same mistake
We all live in this blue planet
We live with this blue planet together
This planet is our family
The great nature always defends us
The water, the soil, and a blooming flower
Everything in this blue planet is beautiful
How can we make it dirty?
Can you think of it again?
We are all living in this earth
Where you find a beautiful nature, there is a peaceful
paradise
Let's live our life with all our might
You will shine like this planet
What can we do now?
It's more important to think about the future than look
back past mistakes
