Lee Jun-fan (Chinese: 李振藩; November 27, 1940 – July 20, 1973), known professionally as Bruce Lee (Chinese: 李小龍), was a Hong Kong American actor, director, martial artist, martial arts instructor, and philosopher. He was the founder of Jeet Kune Do, a hybrid martial arts philosophy drawing from different combat disciplines that is often credited with paving the way for modern mixed martial arts (MMA). Lee is considered by commentators, critics, media, and other martial artists to be the most influential martial artist of all time and a pop culture icon of the 20th century, who bridged the gap between East and West. Brandon Lee’s death after an accidental shooting on the set of 1994’s ‘The Crow’ added fuel to a longstanding ‘curse’ conspiracy theory, with the young actor and his father, martial arts legend Bruce Lee, both dying under mysterious circumstances. In one of his final interviews, Brandon opened up to ET justweeks before his death at 28 years old on March 31, 1993. He gave an intimate glimpse at what it was like growing up in the shadow of a cultural icon, and how his role as revenge-driven Eric Draven in the comic book adaptation was all but certain to put him on the path to mainstream success. With an eye-witness account and disturbing details from behind the scenes, ET breaks down how Brandon was killed with a prop gun and a ‘dummy’ bullet while filming his character’s on-screen murder. Born in Harlem and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, Combs worked as a talent director at Uptown Records before founding his own record label, Bad Boy Records in 1993. He embarked on his recording career following the success of his first signee, the Notorious B.I.G., for whom he served as manager and hype man. Combs's debut studio album, No Way Out (1997), received critical acclaim, peaked atop the Billboard 200, and received septuple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Two singles from the album, "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" and "I'll Be Missing You", topped the US Billboard Hot 100—the latter was the first hip hop song to debut atop the chart. His second and third albums, Forever (1999) and The Saga Continues... (2001), both peaked at number two on the Billboard 200, while his fourth, Press Play (2006), peaked atop the chart. Combs then formed the musical group Diddy – Dirty Money with R&B singers Kalenna Harper and Dawn Richard to release the collaborative album Last Train to Paris (2010), which peaked at number seven and was supported by the single "Coming Home". His fifth studio album, The Love Album: Off the Grid (2023), received moderate critical and commercial response.
He has worked as a producer for other media, including MTV's reality series Making the Band. He launched the clothing retailer Sean John in 1998, for which he won Menswear Designer of the Year from the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2004, having previously been nominated in 2000. Combs served as brand ambassador for the liquor brand Cîroc from 2007 to 2023, and co-founded the television network Revolt in 2013. He is one of the wealthiest musical artists.

-BRUCE LEE
He is credited with helping to change the way Asians were presented in American films.
The son of Cantonese opera star Lee Hoi-chuen, Lee was born in the Chinatown area of San Francisco, California, on November 27, 1940, to parents from Hong Kong, and was raised with his family in Kowloon, Hong Kong. He was introduced to the film industry by his father and appeared in several films as a child actor. Lee moved to the United States at the age of 18 to receive his higher education at the University of Washington in Seattle, and it was during this time that he began teaching martial arts. His Hong Kong and Hollywood-produced films elevated the traditional Hong Kong martial arts film to a new level of popularity and acclaim, sparking a surge of interest in Chinese martial arts in the West in the 1970s. The direction and tone of his films dramatically changed and influenced martial arts and martial arts films in Hollywood, Hong Kong, and the rest of the world.
He is noted for his roles in five feature-length martial arts films in the early 1970s: Lo Wei's The Big Boss (1971) and Fist of Fury (1972); Golden Harvest's Way of the Dragon (1972), directed and written by Lee; Golden Harvest and Warner Brothers' Enter the Dragon (1973) and The Game of Death (1978), both directed by Robert Clouse. Lee became an iconic figure known throughout the world, particularly among the Chinese, based upon his portrayal of Chinese nationalism in his films and among Asian Americans for defying stereotypes associated with the emasculated Asian male. He trained in the art of Wing Chun and later combined his other influences from various sources into the spirit of his personal martial arts philosophy, which he dubbed Jeet Kune Do (The Way of the Intercepting Fist). Lee had residences in Hong Kong and Seattle. He died on July 20, 1973 at the age of 32.

While the two surviving members of Brandon’s immediate family, his mother, Linda Lee Caldwell and sister, Shannon Lee, shared their harsh reactions to the ‘chain of negligence’ that led to Brandon’s shooting, they also supported ‘The Crow’s release and his final role hitting theaters on May 13, 1994. Thirty years later, Brandon’s fiancée, Eliza Hutton, broke her silence in the wake of Alec Baldwin’s accidental shooting of ‘Rust’ movie cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021. In her plea for a reevaluation of gun use in Hollywood, she reflected on losing Brandon decades earlier, which was only days before their wedding and a new future that he had excitedly told ET was ‘gonna be great.’ 'The Crow' is streaming on Paramount+.
