The Christmas season, or festive season, (also called the holiday season or simply the holidays, mainly in the U.S. and Canada), is an annually recurring period recognized in many Western and Western-influenced countries that is generally considered to run from late November to early January, defined as incorporating at least Christmas, and usually New Year, and sometimes various other holidays and festivals. It incorporates a period of shopping which comprises a peak season for the retail sector (the "Christmas (or holiday) shopping season"), and a period of sales at the end of the season (the "January sales"). Christmas window displays and Christmas tree lighting ceremonies when trees decorated with ornaments and light bulbs are illuminated, are traditions in many areas.
Originally within the Roman Catholic Church, the term "Christmas season" was considered synonymous with Christmastide, a term associated with Yuletide, which runs from December 25 (Christmas Day) to January 6 (Epiphany), popularly known as the 12 Days of Christmas. However, as the economic impact involving the anticipatory lead-up to Christmas Day grew in America and Europe into the 19th and 20th centuries, the term "Christmas season" began to become synonymous instead with the traditional Christian Advent season, the period observed in Western Christianity from the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day until Christmas Day itself. The term "Advent calendar" survives in secular Western parlance as a term referring to a countdown to Christmas Day from the beginning of December.
The Holidays formed in late 2006 and quickly established themselves in the Sydney music scene as an upbeat, energetic addition. Simon Jones and Will Magnus had attended high school together, previously playing in cover bands in their schools' band competition. They were often up against the band Roger Explosion in these competitions, who went on to become the Australian electropop band Art vs. Science.
Within their first year as a band together, The Holidays toured with Jamie T, with The View, with Ben Kweller, and recorded an EP of demos which quickly sold out at gigs and received regular airplay on radio stations both in Australia and in the USA. In November 2007 The Holidays were featured on the Next Crop segment of national youth radio station Triple J, soon followed by their signing with independent Australian record label Liberation Music, in early 2008.
The Holidays EP is the first official release by the Australian indie band The Holidays. It was released on 19 April 2008. The lead single off the EP was "Holiday" which received high rotation on the national youth radio station, Triple J.
A bone fracture (sometimes abbreviated FRX or Fx, Fx, or #) is a medical condition in which there is a damage in the continuity of the bone. A bone fracture can be the result of high force impact or stress, or a minimal trauma injury as a result of certain medical conditions that weaken the bones, such as osteoporosis, bone cancer, or osteogenesis imperfecta, where the fracture is then properly termed a pathologic fracture.
Although broken bone and bone break are common colloquialisms for a bone fracture, break is not a formal orthopedic term.
Signs and symptoms
Although bone tissue itself contains no nociceptors, bone fracture is painful for several reasons:
Breaking in the continuity of the periosteum, with or without similar discontinuity in endosteum, as both contain multiple pain receptors.
Edema of nearby soft tissues caused by bleeding of torn periosteal blood vessels evokes pressure pain.
Muscle spasms trying to hold bone fragments in place. Sometimes also followed by cramping.
"Broken Bones" is the debut title of a song recorded by Canadian eurodance group Love Inc.. It was released in November 1997 as the leadoff single from the album Love Inc. and as a cut on the Club Cutz 3 compilation released by RCA Records in the United States. The song lyrics dealt with a person, who despite being a victim of prejudice from others, succeeding in making their dreams come true.
Despite the single reaching the top spot on RPM's Dance Chart and peaking at No. 6 on its Canadian Airplay Chart in March 1998, it only got as far as No. 31 on the RPM Top 100 singles chart in May 1998 during its fifteen-week run there. However, the song's video would also help the act win a Best Video and Best Dance Video award at the 1998 MuchMusic Video Awards. and the song itself would give the act a Juno Award for Best Dance Recording in 1999. It would find success overseas four years after the group broke up, where it reached No. 8 in the United Kingdom in 2003.

Full speed and broken bones
When skiing accidents happens, and it did. My friend Uffe came down the groomed run, with a lot of speed, and hit a big natural curv on the piste. He flew about 10 meters, and crashed. His bindings did not release in properly, so he twisted his knee, and broke his ankle, with 2 fractures.
After getting picked up by a snow scooter and taken down to the hospital. It was clear that he need surgery on this one. The next day he was taken to a private clinic, where he got surgery. The DIN setting on your bindings is very important. Make sure that it is set correctly for the kind of skiing you are doing. Also maintain your binding, it needs to be in mint condition every time. Do you have a ski that is a couple of years old, then check every ting, and adjust it properly. If you do not know how to do it, go to your local ski shop, and let them help you.
Before the accident, we hiked a closed piste, and got a good powder run on that. The first part of the hike was very hard, because, the snow was very deep. My friend Nico, sank in at some point, and could not feel ground under him, a bit scary, but we could easy help him out. Again, safety is very important, and do not go out of bounds alone. If we had not been there, Nico had might not been able to get out him self. But we got up there, and had a great run down.
Respect the mountains and enjoy.
