The arena is located in the northwest corner of the Kansas State campus, along with the rest of the school's athletic facilities, abutting the south end zone of Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium.
The arena was built to replace Ahearn Field House, K-State's basketball facility from 1950 to 1988. Construction of Bramlage Coliseum began with a groundbreaking on October 18, 1986, and was completed in 1988. The construction was funded entirely by student fees and donations from alumni and friends of the University.
On November 26, 1988, Kansas State University officially opened Bramlage Coliseum with an 81-77 victory over Purdue University. The first basketball game actually played in the arena, however, was an NBA exhibition game between the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs on October 21, 1988.
Welcome to Bramlage Coliseum, also known as the Purple Palace or the Octagon of Doom.

Minecraft - Kansas State Athletics Complex (Bill Snyder Family Stadium / Bramlage Coliseum)
Greetings all!
For the past several months, I have spent bits of my free time slowly building and putting together this masterpiece - the Athletics Complex at Kansas State University as seen in 2019. This includes all of Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Vanier Football Complex, Ice Family Basketball Center, and Fred Bramlage Coliseum. All facilities are complete with locker rooms and practice facilities within.
I hope you thought this was as cool as I do! I worked very hard on this to make it as accurate as I could! Let me know what you think and share this with a friend or two!
This was created on Minecraft on my Xbox One.
Have a great day everybody!

Sandstorm at Bramlage Coliseum 2/14/11 KSU v KU
During the second half of Kansas State's 84-68 win over Kansas at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kansas, the K-State student section fist pumps to "Sandstorm." For some reason coach Bill Self, thought it was a 30-second timeout, so his players got to enjoy the show while standing in the middle of the court instead of the friendly confines of their own team huddle.
